Hey let's welcome home
a Soldier boy's return
with blood still on his hands
look into his eye's of innocence
and find a different man

He looks into those forgotten eye's
where love once use to shine
only to see a fire burn
a past from so long ago
he's lost somewhere in time
and no one understands

Once he had a pocket full of dreams
but now the nightmares they echo
filled with only violent screams
as another Soldier dies

against his own shadow
screaming for forgiveness
but nobody can hear him shout

Sometimes she hides herself by the windowpane
and watches outside as the world passes her by
sometimes she cries herself to sleep
listening to the pouring rain
as Heaven's tears fall from the sky

Sometimes she wants to run away
thinking that everything will be okay
trying to escape from all the pain
but it still feels just the same
living in the lies and blame

Sometimes she feels the wounds that cuts deep
of all the memories from yesterday
another fallen Angel that can no longer fly
sometimes she still prays her soul to keep
as Heaven's tears fall from the sky

In my life are reflections
of things to come
of what is to be
and what has beckoned me
to the edge of my dream
a final last scene
that soon will become
what I will no longer find

I feel the emotions
as the heart turns cold
looking through a mirror
at faces I can't see
now that are only illusions
that won't come much clearer
as it draws me closer and nearer
to the reality of my mind
that I can no longer hold

I hear the echoes
the screams of my cries
as the soul in me dies
as the light inside hides
through darkness of my shadows
a sadness of pain and misery
that leaves the happiness behind
of all that I use to know
