Thumb
You can't thumbs-down the truth away
But apparently
You can blame the one who told it
As if they somehow made it true
By pointing it out
Telling someone they are making a mistake does not make you a bad person.  Allowing someone to continue to make a mistake without telling them does not make you a good person.

Sea monkeys
What a pitiful thing

Cuz Red bull don't give me wings
Yet Sea monkeys

Once upon a time
Once upon a time
There was an island
Of big dicked men
The small dicked men
HATED the big dicked men
Of course
The small dicked men
Were busy inventing things
And the big dicked men
Well, they didn't invent a lot
Satisfied with what they had
I suppose
The small dicked men
Used their inventions
To subjugate the big dicked men
Because they hated them
Out of jealousy
Which almost always turns evil
The little dicked men
Turned evil
And had to prove
Somehow
They were better than
Big dicked men
All along
It made small *****
Smaller
Evolution and Karma
Are great business partners

All the Bases
Twinkle shining grace
Butterflies whispy lace
Unicorns, faries, and stormy seas
Contemplative yous and mes
Star shine, moon, and
Lemondrop lace
Sail our ship all over the place
Laughter and giggles and filling with glee
Sadness, darkness,
Scraped up knee
Heart tug, lady bug
Someone pulling out the rug
Space junk, rock punk
And Billy the Kid
History, horses
Heartbreaking divorces
College courses, too
Don't forget about
The heartbreak of me and you
I think I've got it covered
The poem is done, of course
Anything I add now
I would just have to force

Sometimes
It seems
(To me)
The word "that"
Is a distancer
I can say
"Do you think that I'm in love"
Or
"Do you think I'm in love"
I can't explain why
But
It feels different
To me

Poetry, to me
Some people define poems by length
Or....jeeesch,
Everyone has their own definition
Poetry, is something I learned from, grew from,
Or identified with
Whether it was one line
Or twelve pages
Written in the poet's own
Unique language
That's poetry, to me
Though I've seen clever be poetic, too.  I suppose clever is something we all learn from, which is, of course, poetic
Are learning and growing always the same thing?

Perception
My grandparents
(Who, by the way, belong in the Grandparent' s Hall of Fame)
Would call me
"Faccia brute"
When I cried
(Not if I was really hurt, of course)
Faccia brute means
"Ugly face"
In Italian
If I was a different person
I'd be dwelling
Oh, alas!
Poor me!
My grandparents called me Ugly!
And when I was crying, at That!
It all depends on my perception
And that's how I will tell it to you
Influencing your perception
Too

Family
My bequeath to Mother Earth
I try my best
And Always have
Curveballs galore
It actually sounds unbelievable
When I tell it
But we are a GREAT family
And everyone who actually
Knows us will testify
I honestly tried my best
With my kids
And it shows
Despite
The huge *******

Everyone who knows
Knows that we are an amazing
Team
And we all really
Love
Each other
So much

Worship
There are times when it sounds to me, a poet is speaking to a controlling, self-centered, narcissistic partner, and it turns out they are speaking to God.
Love God by turning Her into an *******?
God probably wants to be worshipped, not idolized.

Flourishy
If you want people to like your poem, you can't force it more than once
You can go with the obvious,
And even go all a flourish
But no more than once each
You can scrap a tap
On a dark, desolate path, haunted by furious ghosts
But don't bring it home on the same path so winding, you get lost in your landscaping, and desperately claw at whatever is available.

Bad Chemistry
You annoy the **** out of me
I think it's just the chemistry
I try to not bristle at the sound of your voice
But, ugh! It's the most irritating noise
And the things you say, your slant on life
All you ever do is gripe
I wish you the best, and hope you're happy
But please, oh please, stay away from me
Get over yourself
Swollen head Boo
I can see how your biggest fan is you
I respect confidence
But you take it too far
Your ego's much greater than you really are
You are pretty good
I will admit
But honey, you ain't got the patent on
Being The ****
Believe that your special
I'm all for that
But your greatness don't need to make others flat
There is room at the top
For more than you two
(And by "you two," I mean
Your ego and you)

Dings and dents
Bill Cosby broke my heart.
Well, maybe not
But he certainly
Dented it irreparably
I loved and respected that man
And now,
When I see him
I can't help but pity him
I'll even go so far as to wonder
If it was a set up
But I suppose that makes me a terrible person
Because I am empathizing
With a ******
And that's all I got to say about Bill Cosby
That man dented my heart

Why you won't like me
I'm a sucker for the term "bed head"
Whenever I get too close to someone, I stress over how my breath smells
Some people who know me find me annoying
I eat way too much junk food, and don't really gain weight (which is enough to make some people not like me)
I'm a total, out and out, non-apologetic flirt
I am a "know it all"
And sarcastic
(And that's about as much thought as I'm going to put into it)

Idols
It's the one who is saying what we don't want to hear
Who is really saying the most
And the one pushing all of our buttons
With whom we will find the most growth
It's the guy begging for change on the subway
With whom we don't want to share
And the addict under the bridge
For whom we don't want to care
It's the fast-talker who says nothing
With whom we entrust all our riches
But the farmer covered in dirt
Can't afford to patch his own britches

Kid stuff
Covering your hands with glue
Letting it dry, to peel it off, like a thin layer of skin
Sticking pins through the top layers of your fingertip skin, to make a wimpy Freddie Kruger
Watching hydrogen peroxide bubble on your scrape
And then, picking off the scab
Unbending a paperclip, to fashion a makeshift retainer for your teeth
Swinging your arms around in the sideways helicopter, so it can make you run faster
I'm sure I'll be adding to this in the comments.  Please add too, if you can think of anything

Well that's a big bully

The effect similar
