Elusive
You're there
Somewhere
Maybe close, or far
Still waiting for you
To find me wherever I
Are
You'll know that I'm me
From the bells in your brain
And how you no longer
Feel any pain
I'll recognize you
Too
Boo

Comeback
It's not that I don't have a response
It's that my brain couldn't settle upon one wise-*** retort
And I had enough time to realize I was in ******* mode
The mature, adult in me
Is gonna let it slide

Young at Heart, I Suppose
I read your poem
And thought
"Wow, impressive for a teenager"
Then I saw you were sixty two

Talent
You ever notice how talent never brags,  and almost always spreads itself as far as it can.
Talent has a way of rubbing off on people.

Ironic
If you were to ask him
He would claim it was me
Who broke his heart
And he'd really believe it
To be true

Face Plant
I once knew a boy who kicked the ladder out from under himself, just before he stepped into the roof.
I can't tell if he was cocky or clumsy
Probably a little of both

A Little Music, Please
Trying hard to be mysterious
Makes one easy to know
Insisting we all stay
Only makes us want to go
You lock us in the car
And turn off the radio

Perspective
I wrote you fifty poems, and somehow you let the one I wrote about him break your heart.
I can't tell if you're whiney
Or *****
You seem real confused
You flirt so suggestive
And brazenly, too
And when it's all over
You claim he used you
And he's gifted a guilt trip
Because you broke your rules

That's Debatable
You're trying so hard to be disagreeable, it is coming across as paynoattentionable.
Disagreement is healthy in reasonable doses
But apparently it can become addictive
I think it's because you value debate
And so do I
But debating over whether the ants on the sidewalk are carrying crumbs of bread or cake is futile and a snoozefest
But I gotta say
I like you so much better then the other one
Who immediately blocks at any sign of debate
And I'd much rather invite you to the party, than I would the different other one, who only always agrees.
So, I suppose this is all *******,
And I really hope you'll stay exactly as you are

Ball and Chain
I wish I could relate to your pain
And grateful I do not bear it
Your sadness is your ball and chain
And I cannot fathom that you do not have the key
Maybe you just can't find it
But I think you have it somewhere

And probably know it's for you
Of all the loves I've ever known
You were my most true

Mask
I would love your attitude
If I thought it was true
I've never known someone
Faker than you
But each has their own
And your mask is your pride
You think it's invisible
Yet behind it, you hide

I miss you every day

Guilt By Omission
I can tell you can't get enough of me
Such sincere and sweet flattery
I wish so bad you did it for me

Dealing With the Villagers
You may take it however you do
But calling someone on their ******* is a form of affection
It's much easier to tease the village idiot behind his back

Bad Chemistry
You annoy the **** out of me
I think it's just the chemistry
I try to not bristle at the sound of your voice
But, ugh! It's the most irritating noise
And the things you say, your slant on life
All you ever do is gripe
I wish you the best, and hope you're happy
But please, oh please, stay away from me

Dear God
What's the point of ***** hair
It seems to make no sense
Unless you wanted to give us a thing
To hold onto our sweaty scents
And now that I mention it
Armpit hair, too
What's the deal, dear Sir?
I think that we could do without
All this inconvenient fur

Bogus Buggar
This buggar stuck to my finger
No matter how much I rub and flick
The **** thing won't come loose
It's surely making me sick
I tried to give it time to dry
But it's wet as wet can be
No matter how hard I try
This thing is so **** gooey
I can't put it back in my head
And surely not in my mouth
I guess I have no choice
But wipe it under the couch
Don't act like you've never done it

Silently Speaking
Silence can say more than too many words.
It's not what you said
It's what people heard
When you speak through silence
You're not misunderstood

Our Father
Jesus would be mad at us
For revering him a God
He didn't start with "my Father,"
He said, "our Father"
His followers have lost their way
And he would be the first to say

Oh jeez

Who do you think you're foolin'
Pullin' an overt dualin'

Torn Resolution
I can't understand why I still think of you
You're such a ****, for real; through and through
But you also paid me my best compliment
And you always said just what you meant
I suppose one day, I won't think of you
But I hope I find one who can do like you do

The best you can hope for
Is to bring it to a tie

Stockings, Rudolph, Ugh
Not another Christmas poem
Oh, excuse me...am I still allowed to say Christmas?
Let's begin again
Not another holiday poem
Filled with candy canes and trees
Instead, i want to hear the tradition of families
What makes Christmas (holdays?)  different
We all know what's the same
Please give us your Christmas (holidays)
By any other name
