Dance The Dance
Dance The Dance

Don't wait for life to be perfect
all your ducks lined up in a row,
because if you hesitate
you might miss out you never know.
Plan your future wisely but if fate
steps in the way,
follow what's in your heart
life the life today.
You only come round once
it's ok to take a chance,
don't wait for life to be perfect
live it well and dance the dance.

You'll Never Fail
You'll Never Fail

Be the captain of your voyage,
forever try your best,
focus looking forward
north south east and to the west.
Never waver in your thinking,
nor balance on the wall,
fight for what you believe in,
when you win you'll win it all.
Battle for truth, fight for freedom
let honesty be your goal,
Hang your flag, make your choice
prepared to pay the toll.
Voice the words that must be said,
not to soft nor too flat,
white is white as truth is shared,
black will always be just that.
You're the captain of your conscience
may your light forever prevail,
as you reach your destination
follow God's path and you'll never fail.

Dance The The Living
Dance With The Living

I may die poor by
economy's  review,
I've worked hard and struggled
no different from you.
Riches immeasurable
neither glitter nor shine,
priceless is love you'll
earn in time.
No price tag attached
just a gift you were given,
when God chose you to dance
with the living.

To The Spider Said The Fly
To The Spider Said The Fly

You weave your web so gracefully
to the spider said the fly,
your cunning dance and sticky
silk capture victims passing by.
To nature you serve a purpose
much like humans do,
be careful whom you snag,
someday they'll eat you too.

Hope Leads The Way
Hope Leads The Way

There are storms we must weather
mountains to climb,
in this journey called life
with no reason nor rhyme.
It's fight or flight but when
all's said and done,
the war keeps raging
till the victory's won.
Inside our bodies a force
resides,
that fights for survival
in most difficult times.
In every soul hope
leads the way,
no matter the sorrows
we face today.

My World Of Illusion
My World Of Illusion

I live in a world of illusion
where nothing's ever real,
the sun comes up at
midnight, it's warmth I cannot feel.
The moon appears in the morning,
doves whistle songs to me,
in my wacky crazy world
my land of make believe.
Roses bloom in winter
snows falls in the month of June,
trees lose their leaves in December
and spring comes along too soon.
Everything is twisted
gravity's not there,
in my wonderful world of illusion
I'm floating in mid air.
All I know is I feel safe
and sheltered from life's pain,
when I close my eyes and disappear
my world of illusion
keeps me sane.

Dare to dream
there's sweet release
in your imagination.

Mysteries Of Tomorrow
Mysteries Of Tomorrow

The morning star makes her exit
Illuminating the sky,
of ocean blue, an amazing view,
another day is nigh.

Soft breezes caress the fallen leaves
lifting them one last time,
in all their glory,
a seasonal story,
in this colorful life of mine.

Apples ripen on the trees
walnuts drift to the ground,
in my mind
are happier times,
as fall once more comes round.

Winter soon here, days will shorten,
but sure as the tides come and go,
my heart will give way
praising God for today,
as the mystery of tomorrow unfolds.

Mother's Day In Heaven
Mother's Day In Heaven

Somewhere over the rainbow
beyond the hands of time,
it's Mother's Day in heaven
where the sun will always shine.
She's celebrating with angels
waiting patiently,
to hold each one of her children
throughout eternity.
When you kneel beside her grave
and place a rose upon her stone,
remember she's not far away
we're here for a reason but
this is not home.
Heaven is forever, earth not promised
a day,
tears of sorrow fall for now
but soon shall pass away.
Mothers are God's greatest gift
angels with wings of pure gold,
forever remembered, cherished
and treasured as each generation unfolds.

Remember A Soldier Today
Remember A Soldier Today

He marches in God's army now but once
upon a time,
with valor he fought long and proud
our freedom on his mind.
Leaving loved ones far behind he
marched on foreign land,
defending peace and liberty
an honorable young man.
The world may never know him
or the sacrifice he made,
So I ask you take a moment
and remember a soldier today.

A Soldier Died Alone
A Soldier Died Alone

Amidst the desert sands dawnings just begun,
battle rages on bombing veils the rising sun.
A boy not yet a man holds a picture to his heart,
of loved ones not forgotten though oceans keep them apart.
Called to serve his country land of freedom home of brave,
risking his existence for the lives that he may save.
Concealing his dismay he holds his head up high,
his arms embrace a trusted friend watching him slowly die.
A boy he is no more on that day there stood a man,
his heart filled with rage his mind fights to understand.
Raised to be a man of God taught thou shalt not ****,
now placed upon the battlefield where there tis his only will.
Resting beneath the sunset wounded he dreams of home,
lying on the desert's floor a soldier died alone.

Mama's Christmas Miracle
Mama's Christmas Miracle

Mama told me a story a long long time ago not like any that I'd ever heard,
all about a little girl mama used to know, how I remember every word.
Seems like a lifetime ago, though I remember it so well,
it was a Christmas eve I'll never forget as far as I can tell.
We were sitting at the kitchen table, it was only my mother and me,
I was dreaming of Christmas morning and all the presents under the tree.
Dad wasn't doing that well and money was scarce that year,
Mama found a way of telling me without me shedding one tear.
She told me a story of a little girl and a Christmas long ago,
who came from far away, a place where it rarely snowed.
Santa was just a dream to her, but she believed so much inside,
that Christmas was going to be special, so she knelt by her bed and she cried.
"Lord let Santa remember me if not just this one time, I promise I won't ask for much, maybe a dolly I can call all mine."
She closed her prayer and thanked the Lord for all that she received,
she knew that Santa would really come if only she believed.
She wrote a letter to Santa unfamiliar to most girls and boys,
Though her list was long and full, on it there were no toys.
Only things we take for granted, like new shoes or underpants,
hair bows for her sisters and gloves to warm her brother's hands.
At the bottom of her list she asked if it not be to much, for a brand new baby doll she could hold and love and touch.
Then Christmas morning came and she looked beneath her tree,
Not a present to be found as far as she could see.
She didn't give up hope as she heard a knocking sound,
When she opened up her door a great big box she found.
She called out to her mother and dad, brothers and sisters too,
She said "my prayers were answered, there's something in here for all of you."
Her daddy got brand new boots, her mother new underpants, her sisters got beautiful hair bows, her brothers warm gloves for their hands.
Buried deep beneath the box was a brand new baby doll and a note that said Merry Christmas I love you one and all.
I'll never forget that story because much to my surprise,
I saw the true meaning of Christmas shining in my mother's eyes.
For those of you who are wondering, as if you didn't know,
The little girl in Mama's story was my mother long ago.

This poem is about a childhood memory I will never forget. God bless all the mothers in this world and may all your Christmases be ones to remember.

Suddenly With The Blink Of An Eye

The sun was brilliantly shining
it was a picture of a day,
when I starred outside my window
and watched my son at play.
Funny how quickly time passes
suddenly with a blink of an eye,
my little boy is all grown up
there's no more need for lullabies.
I remember when he was an infant
how I wished that he'd turn one,
for my sleepless nights were endless
and my chores were never done.
At two I wished that he'd turn three
so I could put the diapers away,
I never dreamed that by wishing
he'd be all grown up today.
This is the year he goes to school
how I wish he was a baby once more,
maybe I'd learn to let little things go
like dust on the furniture or
dirt on the floor.
Oh how I'd treasure each moment
if given a second chance,
but life just isn't that simple
and this is a wish that no one can grant.
Why is it we never learn before the
clock ticks away the time
to celebrate each new day
in our hearts and in our minds,
instead of looking back and asking ourselves why,
our children are all grown up
suddenly with the blink of an eye.

Pay It Forward If You Can
Pay It Forward If You Can

A true gift comes from the heart without
any expectations,
wishing nothing in return, no thanks
or admiration.
It doesn't have to be monetary for a
gentle warm embrace,
could offer hope to the weary,
and place a smile on someone's face.
The things we remember most in life
are gestures along the way,
that others have made to help us through
life's challenges each day.
Remember the shoulders you've leaned
upon and pay it forward when you can,
this world could be a better place,
I believe that giving was
God's greatest plan.

Remember Me
Remember Me

If I were to leave this world today I'd want to be remembered its true,
for going that extra mile just to show my love for you.
I'd want for you to be proud of me and know I always tried,
when you hurt I did too, your tears I also cried.
I'd want you to be compassionate to never turn away,
from someone who might need a hug or encouragement one day.
I'd want you to know I'm sorry if I ever caused you pain,
I hope you'd learn from my mistakes and
forgive me just the same.
There are no second chances when God
says it's time to go,
we only have today to let our feelings show.
Remember this when you say your prayers and count your blessings tonight,
and treasure every precious moment God gives you in this life.

Oh Mighty Oak
Mighty Oak

Stand tall oh mighty oak, for all the world to see,
your strength and undying beauty forever amazes me.
Though storm clouds hover above you,
your branches span the sky,
in search of the radiant sunlight you
count on to survive.
When the winds are high and restless and
you lose a limb or two,
it only makes you stronger, we
could learn so much from you.
Though generations have come and gone
and brought about such change,
quietly you've watched them all yet still
remained the same.
I only pray God give to me the strength he's
given you,
to face each day with hope, whether
skies are black or blue,
Life on earth is truly a gift
every moment we must treasure,
it's the simple things we take for granted
that become our ultimate pleasures.

My Mother My Angel
My Mother My Angel

Once upon a time an angel held my hand,
She wiped away my tears and helped me understand.
Our time on earth is brief, there's lessons to be learned,
Each precious day God gives us another page is turned.
Every chapter full of memories, times of joy and tears,
Triumphs and defeats, through every passing year.
She loved us unconditional, always by our side,
When no one else would listen, in her we could confide.
With gentle words of wisdom she led us on our way,
Down the paths of righteousness if ever we did stray.
She saw the light in everyone and gave with no regrets,
Always from her heart let's us not forget.
Angels come in many forms, for me it is my mother,
With love I cannot say in words there'll never be another.
Every day I turn the page in my heart will ever remain,
Everything she taught me as I stroll down memory lane.
Thank you God for giving me the most priceless of all treasures,
Help my Lord to keep alive her memory here forever.
I pray that I can some day be everything she hoped I would,
That's she smiling down from heaven knowing she did good.
As we gather here today there's no ending to her story,
Another chapter has begun full of grace and glory.
Gods called her to his heavenly home, part of his great plan,
Although it may be hard, we all must understand.
Faith is what is hoped for, things we cannot see,
Heaven is promised to all of us if only we believe.
