Where is your faith
in this world gone awry?
It got lost
in translation
between you and I.
Words we hear and words we say
set their sights on
mindful play,
and everything that
we are taught
merges with our
worldly thought.
That is why
the Savior said
heed my words upon your hearts,
for that is where my kingdom starts.
Kathryn Heim May 2016
Mary queen of heaven be
a calm for every storm we face,

Mary queen of heaven be
a constant reminder of God's grace.

Mary queen of heaven be
a soothing peace for all our fears,

Mary queen of heaven be
a source of joy through the years.

Mary queen of heaven be
our strength against demonic foes,

Mary queen of heaven be
emotional salve for all our woes.

Mary queen of heaven be
the love that guides us day by day,

Mary queen of heaven be
the voice that shows us how to pray.

Mary queen of heaven be
in oppression our quick relief,

Mary queen of heaven be
the shining beacon of our belief.

Mary queen of heaven be
the kindness we must pass along,

Mary queen of heaven be
the heartstrings  playing our soul's sweet song.

Mary queen of heaven be
present in our daily prayers,

Mary queen of heaven be
advice and counsel for our cares.

Mary queen of heaven be
our cooling breeze and gentle rain,

Mary queen of heaven be
the spotless place for all our stains.

Mary queen of heaven be
the joy whenever we rejoice,

Mary queen of heaven be
our ears to hear your sacred voice.

Mary queen of heaven be
in the sky our rising star,

Mary queen of heaven be
a constant presence never far.

Mary queen of heaven be
here beside us everyday,

Mary queen of heaven be
our sunshine when the skies are gray.

Mary queen of heaven be
our protector, fortress, shield, and shade,

Mary queen of heaven be
love's foundation forever laid.

Mary queen of heaven be
the brilliant colors nature brings,

Mary queen of heaven be
the beauty of a butterfly's wings.

Mary queen of heaven be
the subtle whisper of dawn's first light,

Mary queen of heaven be
the velvet silence of the night.

Mary queen of heaven be
the reason that we celebrate,

Mary queen of heaven be
our perfect patience as we wait.

Mary queen of heaven be
our comfort now and reward to come,

Mary queen of heaven be
our duly noted job well done.

Mary queen of heaven be
our map to everlasting grace,

Mary queen of heaven be
our swift feet to finish the race.

Mary queen of heaven be
the goodness we can clearly see,

Mary queen of heaven be
our guide into eternity.
"...Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death."

Splendor
shine
sparkle divine,
Dawn's
first light
rosy
bright,
single star
twinkling
blink,
imagine
lightning
in a
wink,
thunder
power
echoes
a storm,
sun's rays
expand
nurturing warm,
eternal energy
high voltage sent,
God's source
redemption
simply
radiant.

I lost my tears
the other day
and emotions were all
swept away.
The mysteries I had
always heard
and contemplated
every word,
were miracles
turned inside out
erasing all my fear
and doubt
and proving that
the ways we're blessed
are never ending
measureless.

I cannot write
without a rhyme,
possibly
in due time,
but currently
the words are mine
and I'm inclined
to make them rhyme
line by line
because I find
peace of mind
every time
my words rhyme.

when I run
I'm wild and free
Like the sun, a bird
Flower or tree.

When I run
I'm wild and free
The world and worries
Can't catch me.

Where life's pulse
is counted
and love is stored,
where passions motives
are continually implored,
where we question our purpose
to breathe and be
and explore the depths
of eternity,
where faith, belief
and conviction start,
the Father, Son
and the Sacred Heart.

To live
as thou
hast died
for me,
redeemed by Christ,
a sacrifice
that paid the price
for all that be.

Sacrificing

All

In anticipation of

Never ending

Time with God.
Kathryn Heim Jun 2016
In memory
of what once was
silently stands
the sarcophagus,
a stone symbol,
a noble tribute
to life's end,
a final salute
bold and mute.
Yet as it stands
the spirit lives
and thus commands
respect for both
the life that was
and the stoic
sarcophagus.

For the first cool
that Autumn brings,
and the golden angel wings
bearing the winter gift we find
a message born to all mankind,
for peace on earth and all to share,
then with spring's thaw God's hand is near
to paint the fields and flowers true
as summer naps with me and you.
For all God's seasons, all year round
where the purest beauty can be found.
The unspoken "I am thankful. .."
Kathryn Heim Feb 2016
A songbird sang
to me and told,
of pages old
and pages gold,
where flowers danced
among the fields
and secrets shared
were never sealed.
Those days are gone
so goes the song,
and time has told
as life unfolds
that birds still sing,
but everything
is not revealed
among the fields.
Kathryn Heim Jul 2016
Mary has my heart,
the angels have my soul,
the saints have my mind
but Christ has my whole.

maintains

We are a snow cone
people.
when it gets hot,
broiling and burning
we strive to be not.
so icy and freezing
we crave a lot.
Snow ball
shaved ice
is good when
it's hot.

My soaring heart
stays not on earth,
heaven bound
in death and birth,
grace, mercy,
and glory be
lift my heart
outside of me
above emotions
of the day
to the place
where hearts
should stay.
Kathryn Heim May 2021
I will sing like a songbird on a warm breezy day,
And remember the songs
When the warm breezes stray,
As our God of mercy
When souls darken and hide,
Sun, songbirds and breezes
He will always provide.
Kathryn Heim Mar 2016
The colors
do not
betray
my sight,
boasting
while dancing
with the light.
Artisan's skill
that celebrates
a canvas
of heaven
to create.
Oh colors shine
so deep and true,
draw me closer
my God,
to you.

Thou who
doubted Thee
and left a famous
memory
for all of humanity
by way of Christianity,
you could not
conceive
the deity
that is faith's reality
because of your inability
to trust the Almighty
within His risen
identity,
your devotion was
a poverty
but Christ gave you
vitality
and granted you
to feel and see
with total
objectivity,
and while this
did prove to be
for you a necessity
our Savior
placed His pity
on your mentality
and proved that His
majesty
was not born
in mediocrity
but miraculously
in the nativity

to lead us all
to eternity.

NO DOUBT
to Thee
all glory
be.

He set the course
and knew the time
when reason from
the earth would climb
and reach for faith,
God's gift to man
found between the stars
and land.
For as he taught
that God is real
all present
as we think and feel,
St. Thomas knew
what his faith meant
that humanity
was heaven sent.

The face she wiped
the pain she eased
the care she bore
a moment seized

a lasting image
of agony
the suffering
her sympathy

a simple act
she felt the need
to care for one
whose blood was seized

a point in time
torture's delay
yeilding a snapshot
sought today.
Kathryn Heim May 2017
Turquoise toes
carefree as a feather
a drop of sweat
in humid weather.
splash!
Freezing grape tongue
worriless days
summer fun.

Do you ever see

below the top of me?

All the stares I get
stop on my surface
and they sit,
they never sink below
where I live and
grow,
then they would get to know
me.
Kathryn Heim Apr 2016
Take the good
on your way
in what you do
and what you say.

Take the good
along life's road
it will lighten
any load.

Take the good
and pass it on
it takes the weak
and makes
them strong.

Take the good
take joy and hope
the tools from God
to help us cope.

Take the good
God said to me
for in the good
is where I will be.
Kathryn Heim Jun 2016
A hug is
a jump start
for every heart
to reach out
and feel
a love
that is real.
A hug is a need
or maybe a seed
to water and ****.
A hug is relief
in the midst of
our belief.
A hug is
an innocent
manifestation
of love's
tender intention.
Kathryn Heim Feb 2016
Spring's sweet thaw
has met me here
so shed no more
a single tear,
and understand
I did not die
and in this ground
I do not lie.
Kathryn Heim Mar 2016
Love in a lick
will always stick.

Love in a blink
can make you think.

Love in a seed
can grow a good deed.

Love in a storm
can make you warm.

Love in a tear
is something dear,

Love in a tickle
can make you trickle.

Love in a drop
can make you stop.

Love in a day
can make you stay.

Love is a treasure,
love is an act,
love is a promise,
love is a pact.

Love in us all
can we answer the call?
Kathryn Heim Apr 2016
The crown,
they said
would hurt
His head,
but he didn't
cry
and it hurt
inside.
Maybe we
should remember
that
they taunted, mocked
and on Him
spat.
The times we
want to cry
and feel as if
we might die,
know
He's been there
and we can share
new hope found
within
the crown.

The Daily

Unless I write
of things born
of the dark,
The Daily
eludes me.
Though pain is real
unless I share
a suffering tale,
showcased
I will not be.
And though I know
not all of life
is true and good
and free,
the longing to
reveal these truths
is a daily
virtuous plea.
Kathryn Heim Mar 2018
Woven with the
thread of time,
our heart and soul
battles our mind,
creating our
autologous quilt
individually
custom built.
Each stitch with care
holds the key
for patterns that
are yet to be.
Textures and colors
blend and contrast
preserving our future,
defining our past.
Kathryn Heim Mar 2021
The first day of spring
I sat in the swing
And listened to
The birds sing
And it was
A beautiful thing.

Hail Mary
full of grace
guide us to the holy place,
queen of heaven
blessed mother dear
keep us in
your loving care.

The words my Savior
gave to me
are all so pure
and perfectly
intertwined effortlessly
as the lock
accepts the key,
exactly,
destiny,
words that were
meant to be.

the matter of age is in your head

To hope for
and always
see the best,
To love with a heart
full of heaven's zest,
to help make other's days
and lives better,
and forever remember
the things that most matter.

The passion,
the pain,
the promise,
the prayer
continuously
creates
Christ's
loving care.
Kathryn Heim May 2018
The prayer for you I said
was how my soul was fed.

The hope that hovers by
helps dry the tears I cry.

The love that my heart keeps
is why my Savior weeps.

His passion, life and death
are why my every breath
should say a prayer for you.
Kathryn Heim Aug 2016
The hope we carry
day to day
needs the light
to find it's way,

the peace we harvest
row by row
needs the light
to help it grow,

the patience protected
though the storm
needs the light
to keep it warm,

the faith we have
from God above
needs the light
to yield His love,

the love we share
and pass along
needs the light
to carry on,

for God is light
will always be
now and through
eternity,

as the day
redeems the night
there is no mystery
in light.
Kathryn Heim Oct 2016
The sacred heart
pierced repeatedly
with love and loss
sharpened arrows,
begs the questionable
value of sorrow,
while placing
redemptive power
in the holiest
of places
amidst God's
everlasting graces.
Kathryn Heim Nov 2016
I searched the earth
I searched the skies
I searched the simple
I searched the wise
I searched for any
sacred place
that would treasure, keep
and guard God's grace.
I searched the temples
I searched the sea
I searched the forests
and towering trees
I searched the grave
I searched the tomb
I searched a newborn
from the womb
I searched a church
I searched the home
I searched a trail
where many roam,
I searched until
I could not see
and it was then
God said to me
"spread my joy
and live my love,
proclaim my peace
as does the dove,
know that these
are good and true
and the sacred place
can be found
in you."
Kathryn Heim Nov 2020
The sun shines brightest
on a dead winter day
soothing my soul
in the simplest way.

I cannot deny
what lives inside
it 's too loud to silence,
too big to hide.

I pray for all
who can't find their way
and can't feel the sun
on a dead winter day.
Kathryn Heim Sep 2016
The things that matter
most to me
are things that others
cannot see,
for I've been blessed
or somewhat dealt
with eyes that see
what can be felt.
So when I write
I try to show
that all of this
here below
is God's creation,
not a world that's lost
and he loves us dearly,
loves us most.
Kathryn Heim Sep 2016
Think not ill of others,
every time you do
those thoughts with no good purpose
will spin their fate on you.
Kathryn Heim Sep 2016
Through the darkness
of my death
with my last dying breath,
I closed my eyes
and said a prayer
born of faith,
not of fear.
Above all things,
beyond all days
lives the mystery
of God's ways,
for out of my
breathless sound
I became
heaven bound.
Kathryn Heim Mar 2016
Courage in life
does not deceive,
the facts remain
in what we believe.

The hardest times
we ever face
are the moments
touched by grace.

Love's the unspoken
truth we share
while we search
for those who care.

Just know the world
before our eyes
usually wears
a grand diguise.

But if you live
with prayers inside,
then heaven's map
will be your guide.
Kathryn Heim Apr 2016
Birds flying in the sky,
transfigured from the nests
they lie.
A flower blushing nature's hues
transfigured from it's seedy shoes.
On the cusp of being caught
cells transfigure into thought.
Laughter breaks monotony' s pause,
transfigured from a joyous cause.
Dawn's soft welcome morning light,
transfigures the mystery of night.
Days from hours disappear
as time transfigures into years.
Mercy sent from God above
is grace transfigured from His love.
Kathryn Heim Jan 2020
finding love
amidst opposing
ideologies.

constantly
pursuing and upholding
the respect and dignity of each and every
fellow human being
above everything else.
Always.

let's put our TRIUMPH glasses on.

Oh dew of morning
and frost of night
that starts the day
and ends the night,
so peace and joy
shall accompany me
forever in eternity.
