that saved me
did not worry over what would be.

it grew patient and strong
with dignity
and knew its purpose
selflessly.

year after year
the wood from the tree
knew it's role
in humanity.

and we are all part
of the wood from the tree
bound together
by destiny,
and in the end
we shall see
the wood from the tree
bearing our
eternity.

our focus is all wrong
in what we say and do
today's news and emphasis
are falsehoods through and through.

the only truth
our safety net
is found in one
we oft forget.

this poet's words

do not reflect
the passion spent.

the only matters
are of the heart
redeemed and loved
from the start.

the world knows not
a soul so deep
enduring all
in silent speech.

a life, a path
a sacred way
to lead us back
when we go astray,

our everything

Today's focus
we must set straight
and by all means
don't wait
all other news
does not compare

when my love
went through heaven's door
and left my tears
upon earth's floor,

i found out then
that all of time
and everything
that's yours and mine,

whether it's by luck or chance
in the end is a brief glance
as glory gets the final dance.

how did we get here,
through a tear
or another
mundane year?

but we have to move
and part with the past
in order to last,
our lives were meant
for good things
and
birds that sing,

so I will not cry
but you and I
must wake up to
the new sun in the sky.

I want my words to live past me
beyond when I cease to be,
of all the things from my past
the truest ones are
my words that last.

to outlast me,

but our link to heaven

the thing about rhyming
is all in the timing,
much like a dance
melodically flowing
to the poets creative chance.

HOPE is a word,
a promise of faith
rich and lasting.

To pair it with politics
is disrespectful and cheap,
poor casting.

The Audacity.

we are not defined by color
we are not defined by race
and continuing to do so
only breeds disgrace.

our skin is a mere shell
our  feature's our decor,
when will we all realize
we are made of so much more.

the ignorance of judgement
has no sanity or shame,
while the prejudice in hate
forever fans the flame.

the substance of our goodness
is born within the heart
learning to look inside ourselves
is where we all should start.

i opened my heart
to grace and glory

and the greatest blessings
became my story.

God fills my soul
with love and grace

making my days
at peace with the pace.

If no one cried
when someone died
would wars be fought
or true love sought?
would memories
of moments caught
be all for naught
if no one cried?

the matter of age is in your head
where it will stay
until you are dead.

In the end it shall
Be revealed
As violence and killings spread
That "no lives mattered" to them.
Bold and ruthlessly declaring
Their cause a fraud.
For the ages.

Hate is too great a burden to bear
So why must we live in fear
Sorting out lives

Thou who
doubted Thee
and left a famous
memory
for all of humanity
by way of Christianity,
you could not
conceive
the deity
that is faith's reality
because of your inability
to trust the Almighty
within His risen
identity,
your devotion was
a poverty
but Christ gave you
vitality
and granted you
to feel and see
with total
objectivity,
and while this
did prove to be
for you a necessity
our Savior
placed His pity
on your mentality
and proved that His
majesty
was not born
in mediocrity
but miraculously
in the nativity

to lead us all
to eternity.

NO DOUBT
to Thee
all glory
be.

put to rest?
