I once knew a woman from Nantucket
Whose heart was so big she couldn’t hide it
She once sat surrounded by friends that loved her
Whose words about her were non truer
The coward flees battle
The brute is eager for it
The wise loathe to fight
But fight for the ones they love

The day of legends
The shadow of the moon passes over me
That colossal creature is an absolute beauty

It slithers exquisitely over the yard
It snickers dangerously in the mind of the bard

A cold ruthlessness settles when the trees grin
Attend the rise of the pumpkin king

While myths and monsters uncover
Watch out for the Riddler

Trudge carefully on this day
The day of Halloween

“…or you might,
never come back…”
Was made for halloween

Blood of Fire
Tendons cracking, skin unfolding
Heart beating, wings dancing

Roar resounding, fire raging
Power exceeding, beauty enhancing

True nobility is born from freedom
True knowledge is born from living

When man sees the wind
He feels the earth
When man touches fire
He understands water

But when man becomes the dragon
He wakes
Like all my poems, I believe an artwork exudes the meaning that the person reading/looking at it decides or understands from it. To me, this poem  represent the potential that lies dormant within every single one of us. Yet again, it is up to you to create meaning.

Hear me, Hear me
Do you feel your feet tremble?
Have the butterflies in your stomach gone mad?

That is because you have plenty to fear
The beast wakes, the serpent writhes in its sleep

In the light of the moon, darkness reaches out
The heavens are under attack

In a desperate attempt to defend itself
The sky hurls the wind at the fiend

In the struggle, the slithering demon falls
It descends with all its might

Upon folks high and low
The tidal surge of power beckons gentle land

This monster whom jeers and cries do not affect
Mercilessly washes away all hopes and dreams
This can be interpreted in many ways, I leave you the choice to think which is best
This fiendish beast arises from hell
The tricks he plays are cunning and evil

He strikes in a second and disappears in an other
He only returns when your blood is gone

This demon is evil and cunning
This demon is strong and fast

He does somewhat creates order out of chaos
He empties the sea with his unique presence

Fear him, but do not hate him
For he is only obeying the law god cursed him with

The soul
The embers of a dying fire shine in the black night of life
It has been through much and more no matter the strife

Through his life of burning clamour he has accomplished all
At the dawn of life he started as twigs and stones

Reaching for the light of day, he was at first quite dull
A little innocent spark, quickly consuming fat and bones

He grew, quickly grew, into a majestic blaze of colours
Venting his beauty to the four corners of the world

The proud fire danced with the wind and laughed with thunder
He respected the earth and feared the water

The mighty blazon of strength was also feared and respected
He gave warmth to some and burnt others

But the dimming light of eternity was the signal of the dead
As fast as he grew, the fire was leaving for the aether

He lied there, battered and shaken by his hard and beautiful life
But his embers never extinguished, do not despair

For a great story is never forgotten,
The embers are reborn.

Twist of mind
Walking along the road
You hear of a mischief made abroad

Suddenly, everything changes
The return of vengeance and lingering grudges

You ask
"what I heard of, is a fearful thing"
I answer
"what you hear of, happens once in a life's ring"

Still you fear, you cower, you run
You flee, you hide, to be shun

Poor fellow, was he, to believe in bad lucks
Poor fellow, was he, to jump in with the ducks

At every corner, lied a shadow for him
In the end, he lined in with them

Insanity
In the dark of night, flies dark words
Unbidden cruelty pops out a sullen canvas

The blank wall hears, sees and spreads
It transmits hate, love or fear

However, it feels them not
A cold truth it is, to have a skeleton
but no spine

The dead walk when he talks
Defying both law and nature

Arisen from a newly dug grave
Sullen from a horrid rave

This monstrosity of life, opens woes and wounds
This cruel beast has no other emotion then loathe

Hello, goodbye, onto an other world
The one ruled by shadows

The children of the night
Hear their cry, hear their howl
They will hound you down till dawn

They have no foes, just preys
Unlawful to the light of day

Blood streams flow wherever they pass
The children of the night race

Their fangs gleam like the moon
Their domain extends over the world

If you hear the leaf rustle, you’re doomed
If you feel the earth tremble, so should you

You’re life is at an end
There’s no escape

The children of the night, followed by her wings
go unbidden, where they please

The children of the night are truly beautiful in it's gleam
Was trying to write a wolf-themed poem, not entirely satisfied but it'll do for now, it remained a WIP up to now in my files, just finished it and could use some feedback to make it better please.

The king of the abyss
His body is the sea
His soul is the air
As he sores through our dreams
And protect us from our fear

This powerful king rules over the world
This powerful king is a cruel one too

He gives life but he takes it as well
He is life, he is death, he is god

Beware I say, beware
Because when you enter his kingdom of shadows

You are no longer safe from the tyrant king

The last shadow
In the cold night, a cry of despair is made
In the cold night, a cry goes unheard

I fear what I must, so I fear what I am
Since what I am, I must fear

Alone on the path of life
Throughout the vast plains of existence

Hear my cry
Do not deny

For I am but a lone soul
With a sharp mind

One day, the path of life will end
One day, the narrow strait of my coffin will be found
Yes, I wasnt in a good mood this day.

Friends
A little boy sits in the rain
He has no one to hold on to

Alone and desperate
He looks unto tomorrow

One day, the sun lifts
One day, the little boy isn’t alone

Life as it is
Shakespeare asked:
"To be or not to be,
That is the question"
I replied:
"To be what we want to be,
That is the answer"
To be taken lightly
