My heart stopped
synced to the dial tone

I knew I'd never hear your voice again

And suddenly I couldn't breath
as if a plastic bag was hung over my head

The world will end in a thunderstorm
brought on by the wind
and followed by a hurricane

The night is growing colder
as the clouds complete the sky

Those words played back
a broken record in my head

You said everything would be okay

But the walls were closing in
as if the world was tightening its grip

The world will end in a thunderstorm
brought on by the wind
and followed by a hurricane

The night is growing colder
as the clouds complete the sky

Please don't let this feeling be the last
I can't hold on to such a thought

And please keep close to my heart

It's outside in the back
sitting on the swing

and the storm is coming.
A velvet cloth covered the damage,
smooth and fitted,
hiding the truth over everything.
The leaves rustled on the wall,
long and unbroken,
hiding the truth behind everything.
A quick sweep stored the damage,
sharp and ugly,
hiding the truth under everything.
But for the inside damage,
unforgiving and unjust,
hiding the truth under the cloth,
the velvet cloth you gave me.

Minds of worlds crash and spin,
distorting the believe of truth.
Right is Left to the wrong of choice,
depicting the hieroglyphics of fate.
A spider is wrong, yet the fire is right,
turn the gun, and choose, left or right?

To think is a gift of the Gods true,
but what is that now that your cold and blue.
Its safe they said, or so I thought,
but now I know better than to trust what I'm taught.
A wrong choice, which only would have been a mark,
but now thats a life, straight through the heart.

I've smoked the strangest dope
I've sniffed the finest blow

Nothing compared to the feeling

I've climbed the tallest mountains
I've swam in the sea

Nothing screamed quite as loud

I've eaten the richest foods
I've felt the walls closing in

Nothing bled so deep

I've felt happiness
I've had the steel against my head

Nothing hurt like falling through the ice
Deep beneath the seething sea,
Before you, before me,
A war is fought so far from shore,
For life, for existence, wholeheartedly.

Each creature fights in its own way,
With speed, or numbers, predator or prey,
They fight so hard through day and night,
To survive, to prosper, to stay.

But what is it worth?
Time watches with mirth,
As they leave there mark in defiance.

So each niche is found,
The variety unbound,
A war of grand alliance.
