You intruded in my life
Like a sweet country breeze
Blowing through a hot cold city

Making me remember the sweet innocence possible
before construction begins
on the city -
on the person.
When I was six I lost my dog.
Everybody went crazy looking for her.
Even the people that she had nipped at
and one guy she had chased over a fence.
She's little but she's tough.

After an hour of yelling her name all over the place
I heard my mother call from the bedroom.
I ran in to see Lizzie peak her head out from under the blanket
and let out a little doggie yawn.
Now whenever Lizzie is missing we always check under the blanket first.
Thanks to poetry watch for pointing out my grammer error.
These winds that blow
are the breaths that you breathe.
This field that we lay in
of tall flourished wheat
is your flowing golden hair.
Those cute little birds
that dance across the blue sky
are the freckles on your skin.
That big bright Sun
that makes everybody's day
is the beautiful smile on your face.
The warmth of the soil
that emanates off this land
is the comfort of your touch.
These little things
are all that remain of you.
This is the land that we became.
And this is the land
that holds your grave.
I come here from time to time,
to remember these things
that once were mine.

We are the births
We are the deaths
We are the lives
We are the gorgeous
We are the ugly
We are the insecure

For within our time
Only
These are for sure.
All that is gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king.

We Are

We are the unwanted
the unloved
the ignored
We are the under appreciated
the unrespected
the outcasts

We will be heard!
Feared!
And Hated!
We will be seen!
Inspire hate on site
Inspire disgust on site

We will ignore their judging eyes!
We will ignore their words of hate!
We will ignore their 'guiding' hand!
We will ignore them entirely!

We will smash our grip on reality
And break free of its control
We will smash their grip on us
And break free as one

We will rise as one
We will fall as one
But most of all
We are going to make a name for ourselves
Before we die
We will be known
You smell like ******* and butterflies
You taste like brownies and knives
You feel like boys broad backs and oil spills
You look like ******* and cherry soda
You sound like congressmen and French women
You are a chemical impossibility

Who are you.
Making me weak
Clouding thoughts that cut away at me
But what can I do?
Darling I need you
Stay to save me
Don't let this deprive what we fought for
Drain out this venom
Purify my heart
Intoxicate me with your love
Slit my eyes open to see the heart I hide
Show me that this is not forever
**** this dreadful feeling
Bleed out the hope I cant see
You see I cant do this alone
Just remember,
We're in this together
I like you in purple,
purple flower fields
We're safe in our meadow,
but they're nipping at our heels

I like you in blue,
blue swirling monsoons
Just think of happy thoughts:
puppies, kiwis and raccoons

I like you in yellow,
yellow playground slides
It's too hot in here,
but it's a place to hide

I like you in green,
green stalks of bamboo.
Puffs of smoke and pocket change,
help me lace my shoes

I like you in red,
red blankets by the river
twilight, moonlight, Starlight,
waking up with shivers

I like you in purple,
purple lazy sighs
Sleepyheads with heavy limbs
and guilty, smiling eyes
