You and I were  just an almost  time and time
and time again. I begged the world to stop so
for  once, even  for a moment we could be  so
much more than a possibility.

A million possibilities we could have been but
in the end we were just stardust and magic inside
this vast space because the universe craved us.

If I close my eyes I can feel you upon my flesh, inside
the depths of my soul. I could feel you in every breath
that filled my lungs and in every beat of my heart.

I used to write you into my poetry and I'd let every
curve of your body fill my fingertips and lust became
my ink. I would lay you down gently across my blank
pages so you would be mine for eternity.

The most beautiful words aren't just written but traced
upon delicate flesh and hummed gently into the soul.
You were the poetry that spilled from my pen and satisfied
those blank pages but now I listen as silence fills my lungs,
waiting for time to softly whisper and fill my flesh with memories.

Just around the corner
is my first love in her
great city that has no
end; the days go by,
the weeks rush on,
and before I know it
a year is gone, and I
never get to see her
face or touch her skin
again, for life is a swift
and terrible race.

She knows that I still
love her and I know
that she still loves me
just as well as in the
days when I rang her
bell and she rang mine,
but we were so much
younger then and the
time has gone by so
fast that is almost a
sin.

And now I am a busy,
tired old man and
tomorrow comes--
and tomorrow goes
and the distance
between us grows
but she is still just
around the corner--
yet miles away but
maybe I will get to
see her, touch her and
hold her once  again
someday.

become intense

as words that
sometimes make
one think.

I am just a traveler
searching for purity
and in my travels
I have learned not
to count the days
but to try to make
each day count.

10 years of time in
the blink of an eye
as the years go by
so quick it almost
makes one sick.

Mindset is everything
because every day
is another chance
to change your life.

We have to believe
that we are here to
make a difference
and not just to exist.

A risk is worth taking
as long as it is for a
good cause and
contributes something.

Good things come to
those who believe
in themselves and
better things come
to those who are
patient and live
in the now but the
best things come
to those who never
give up and keep
getting back up
after being knocked
down.

So put away that
frown as you look
for that purity that
sometimes rarely

Just for a moment
forty-two years ago
I was 21 and in my hand
I had a machine gun
shooting whatever stood
in my way
so I could live to see
another day.

Just for a moment  
I was still young and home
from a very unpopular war
but  with a bright future in College
and able to do just
about anything that
I wanted to do


Just for a moment
I was happily married
with a three year old daughter,
a beautiful wife and I was
living the good life.

Just for a moment
I didn't know what happened
or where I was
and in severe pain
unable to walk
and just barely able to talk
with nothing to gain
and knew I would
never be the
same.

Just for a moment
I was whole again healthy
and happy to be alive
but all alone and suddenly
my daughter was grown
with kids of her own.

Just for a moment
I thought that
I  had found love or it
had found me
as our lips touched
and I saw eternity in
her eyes but *******
see the lies.

Just for a moment
I held her body next to mine
so warm and so bright
as she took me through
the night.

Just for a moment
it was not about
love or sexuality but
it was about the way
we fit.

Just for a moment  
I gave her my heart and
that was all I could give
but it just wasn't enough so
she left just as she had done
with so many others
before.

Just for a moment
I was so happy, so in love
but somehow knew
that it was just too good
to be true as things
got real blue when
I found out that
she was and had
been untrue.

Just for a moment
only a year ago I was
kindness and I lost
and the future dissolved
in moments.

Just for a moment
I am 63 and and gray
with 3 grandkids
and not much more to say
except what we
used to say so long ago
"Have a nice day"
and maybe "We will meet

satisfy their ******
instinct without love.
The instinct is not completely
satisfied unless a man's
whole being, mental quite
as much as physical,
enters into the relationship.
Just go with the flow,
and you'll be happier for it.

No matter what
life throws at you the main
thing that you have to do
is just keep on living despite.

Things come at me everyday
thanks to combat in a far away war
that took place so many years ago
but guess what?

I am here to stay
and to help matters I write about it
in a poem to honor those
who didn't make it home
and to those who still
feel so alone.

Hurt and pain from lost loves
pry at my brain every waking minute
so I just decided that
I must keep on living despite
because there really is
no other way.

So many people will try
to break you with their lies
and mind games but once you
get past the pain and hurt
with them you break all ties.

I don't know if I can ever
love again because my trust
grows so  thin but love
always seems to find a way
and maybe next time
love will stay.

But you need to know
that I will just keep living
for another day despite what
others have to say.

It is never too late
to be whoever you want to be
so know that you can change
or stay the same in this
crazy game of life despite
what is happening to you
at the present and me I just sit here
trying to find a rhyme.

Find the strength to start again
but just keep on living despite
and know that the only person
that you are destined to be
is the person that you

Every year is getting shorter
as I get older and the seasons
come and go at the speed of
light but the Winters feel so
cold and slow and the Summers
feel long and hot as you look up
and everyone you know has aged
almost beyond recognition and
you wonder how they let themselves
get in such a condition as the pages
keep turning and you wonder to
yourself, "do I look that old?"and for
your youth you are yearning.

As I look for something to say on this
lazy Summer day, I know that I am a
strong person, but every now and then
I need someone to take my hand and
say everything will be all right because
sometimes it is the little things that
matter and the few kind words that
people speak and the few precious
moments that we choose to keep
forever in the back of our minds
as we ride out the final years in
what sometimes feels like an
endless grind.

Forget what hurt you, but never
forget what it taught you and
don't promise when you're happy,
and do not reply when you're angry,
and do not decide when your sad,
and know it's better to bite your
tongue than to eat your words
knowing that the word listen contains
the same letters as the word silent
and know character is how is how
you treat those who can do nothing
for you.

There will always be a "lie" in believe.
an "over" in lover, and an "end" in
friend, an "us" in trust, and an "If" in
life, so be kind, for everyone is fighting
a hard battle and realize that the happiest
people don't have the best of everything,
they just make the best of everything
so don' be afraid to swim upstream
to find that dream.

We are just mortal beings in an
ever-changing phenomenal existence
and our life would be very empty
if we had nothing to regret but
at the same time we have to know
that kindness, beauty, and truth can
show us the way and give us the
courage to face life for another day.

Life may not be the party that you
had hoped for but while you are here
you should always try to remember
to not ask for much knowing that the
truth will do just fine and you need to
accept what is, let go of what was,
and have faith in what will be.

It is good to discover people who are
worthy of respect, admiration, and love
but it is vital to believe yourself deserving
of such things so act without acting,
serve without serving, map difficult
through easy, and approach great
through narrow.

We are born soft and weak but die
stiff and strong while sometimes sincere
words are not pretty and pretty words are
not sincere and remember that we all
have to go through the same thing,
we are born, we do some living, then
we die, but so many never know why
and having no clue, they just live and die.

Know that a mediocre person will tell
you something, but a good person will
explain it to you, while the better person
will demonstrate it for you, but the
great person will inspire you so open
your eyes so that you may see the beauty
that surrounds you and open your ears
so that you may hear the joyous sounds
of the world and slow down so that
you may have time to revel in the
glorious world around you and know
that all that you touch and all that
you see is all your life will ever be.

The  wind  here  in  
Kansas feels calm and
soothing, but  it whispers  
how foolish I am to think
that my selfish thoughts  
of  "just  one  more  kiss"
would satisfy the aching
in my heart.

There's a hole in my
chest when you're not
with me and I hear your
restless mind echoing in
my fitful dreams.

I feel you in my bones
and my body screams that
it needs to hold you.

I curse the day I ever made
a single tear  fall  from  those

I am okay

As we get older

and after all of these years
I still wonder what
I need to do to get it right

through her lies.

You did not wake up today to be mediocre and
you didn't come this far to only come this far and
you know each circumstance is a gift and in each
experience is hidden a gift and know that your mind
is a powerful thing and when you fill it with positive
thoughts your life will start to change, so choose your
path and never apologize for saying what you feel
because that's like saying you're sorry for being real
and know it's not who you are that holds you back,
but who you think you're not.

Climb mountains not so the world can see you but
so that you can see the world and go where you are
celebrated, not tolerated knowing that the person that
you will spend the most time with in your life is yourself,
so you'd better try to make yourself as interesting as
possible and know that everyone you meet is afraid of
something, loves something, and has lost something.

Never waste your time to explain who you are to people
who are committed to misunderstanding you and realize
that people aren't against you; they are for themselves
and it shouldn't be a fight to feel loved as time decides
who you meet in your life, your heart decides who you
want in your life, and your behavior decides who stays
in your life and a moment of patience in a moment of
anger saves you a hundred moments of regret.

Human behavior comes from three main sources; desire,
emotion, and knowledge and the less you respond to
negative people, the more peaceful your life will become
and don't be ashamed of your story because it will inspire
others and be sure you taste your words before you spit
them out.
Be open to whatever comes next and stay humble, work
hard, be kind and don't be afraid of being different, be
afraid of being the same as everyone else and know that
most people do not listen with the intent to understand,
they listen with the intent to reply and know that weak
people revenge, strong people forgive, and intelligent

    dreams  and  your
    worst  nightmares
      have the same
    people  in  them.
        So  love  all,
          trust few.

             but not
      everyone's true.

can invent, create, experience, and
destroy things with thought alone
and  don't waste words on people

other side of fear and know that
when you try to control everything,
you enjoy nothing.

Believe what a person shows you, not
what someone else told you about
them and don't talk just act, don't say
just show, and don't promise just
prove, because until you are broken,
you don't know what you're made of.

Be the best reason someone smiles
today and realize that you were given
life because you're strong enough to
live it and remember to smile big,
laugh often and never take this life
for granted,

know your life is your message to
the world so make sure it's inspiring
and know sleep, hugs, kisses, love,
friends, memories, smiles, laughter,
and fun, the best things in life, are
free so keep smiling....and one day
life will get tired of upsetting you.

The tragedy of life is not death, but
what we let die inside of us while we
are here and know that people who
don't understand your silence will
never understand your words and
the only time you should look back
is to see how far you have come.

Sometimes it is okay if the only
thing you did today was breathe
and sometimes you want to just
disappear but in reality you just
want to be found because the
worst part about being strong is
that no one ever asks if you're okay.

Often in life we forget the things
we should remember and remember
the things we should forget and
sometimes we have problems in
our lives because of two reasons;
we act without thinking or we keep
thinking without acting and the
beauty of life does not depend on
how happy we are, but how happy
others can be because of you.

to keep the ones who heard you when
you never said a word and what is
meant to be will always find a way
so be patient, the best things

There is much to learn by
listening so be sensitive to
the needs and the pain of
those around you and see
the good in those whose
lives have touched yours.

Too often we underestimate
the power of a touch, a kind
word, a sincere smile, a
listening ear, an honest
compliment, or even the
smallest act of caring, all
of which have the potential
to turn a life around.

Some words are timeless
and our entire lives will
consist of many fires and
much rain and sunny days
that never seem to end and
after each experience we will
never be the same because
each one is part of our
growing and as a result
we become more knowing.

Commend more and
condemn less and realize
that you would not trade
your life with anyone else
if you could see behind

Here today and gone tomorrow
is this time called life as it just
flies by at the speed of sound
with your feet barely hitting
the ground and your life may
seem full of sorrow and you're
drowning in bad news and
you always seem to lose but
maybe that is because that is
what you choose and just
don't know it.

Then someone comes out of
nowhere and is that very
special person who really
does care and you begin to
realize that love is everywhere
and together you take that
dare and you live one day
at a time and your life begins
to rhyme and things start to
fall into place.

The days begin to slow
down and you don't wear
that frown anymore because
you have learned to live one
day at a time and not go
too fast because you want
everything to last knowing
that it all goes by way too
fast and that any moment
could be your last.

Getting old is when the biggest
lie you can tell yourself is
"I don't need to write that
number down, I'll remember it",
but don't regret growing old
because it is a privilege denied
to many, but know love is what
we are born with and fear is
something we learn and there
is no way we were born to just
pay bills and die although
sometimes it seems that way.

Be aware that you were given
this life because you are strong
enough to live it, so be happy, so
be bright, and be you, and forget
what's gone and appreciate what
still remains, while looking
forward to what's coming next,
and know that sometimes you
have to give up on people, not
because you don't care, but
because they don't, and the less
you give a ****, the happier
you will be

Know that the true mark of
maturity is when somebody
hurts you and you try to
understand the situation instead
of trying to hurt them back,
and you are able to remember
that silence is the most powerful
scream.

Feelings are just visitors, so let
come and go and know that
behind every smile, there is a
story you could never understand,
and know there are many
people who would love to have
your bad days and know that as
you breathe right now, that
another takes his last breath, so
stop complaining and learn to
love life with what you have.

Clouds making love in the Kansas skies above,
thundering  moans  filling  the  sky,  the  Sun
stroking the moon  softly under  the cover of
darkness placing rainbows in your eyes.

I place stars around your body, a constellation
to remind you that the shining of my love
will never die. "My beloved" I said, "let us
*** together and soak our earthly bed." Lets
be silent and say more flowers shall bloom
beneath us. "Say no more." Let the wetness
of our love pour.

My thoughts find you in your reverie, content
to sit  in silence and  listen  to your  dream
landscapes full of adventure and pure love,
unadulterated lust,  romantic  and alluring.

My soul feels yours and you know me. I want
to utter calm to your chaos but I get caught up

but focus on the 24
hours in front of you
and do what you can

It  seems  crazy  sometimes,
just  trying  to  stay  positive
or ­ maybe  I  have  reached  my
limit of pretending to be normal.

Eating cereal with a fork since
the late 70's, a ragged collection
of wild ghosts that offend Heaven
with wanton paganism.

Looking for a peaceful place to
scream in terror at the realization
so many years are gone, going so
fast and I can't get them back.

I am old and gray and bald, and
walk with a cane. blinking my eyes
again and I am a great grandfather.

And I recall so many loves that
didn't last, that came and went
like a hummingbird feeding and
gone, some of them with insatiable
depths  that  needed  to  be  fed.

Some with hungers for the wailing
of tortured flesh,roaring whispers of
the men they'd swallowed.

But I know she is still out there

Every day is a poem.  Poetry  is  therapy, whether  you're
reading  it, writing  it, or  simply  evoking  it  in  thought
patterns and perspectives.

Pain,  both  physical  or  mental, is  part  of life.  It  is what
makes us  human;  it shapes us the same as  love. Through
poetry we touch the places that are too painful to linger in.

Be your own hero. Let your pain be a source of inspiration,
turn your heavy load into poetry, own  it, use  it, and take
as  much from it now as  it has taken  from you in the past.
Embrace pain and burn it as fuel for your journey.  You're
a dangerous person  if  you go  through  things  alone and
come back better.

In  our writing, we  can uncover the  how and  why of our
pain, looking deeper into the process of its becoming, and
then we begin to dismantle it.

Turn pain  into power,  sadness into strength,  words  into
wisdom.  Pain makes  you  stronger, heartache makes you
wiser. Let your pain become your power.

is how to use our emotions as a key
for attaining success in life,
so learn to understand your emotions,
and then master them.

the three things that we desire most in life,
happiness, freedom, and peace of mind,
can be obtained by giving them
to someone else and know that happiness
is not in our circumstances
but in ourselves..

choose to have enough happiness
to make you sweet, enough trials
to make you strong, enough sorrow
to keep you human and enough hope
to make you happy and do what
makes you happiest knowing that
if you look to others for fulfillment
you will never be fulfilled.

imagine that every person in the world
is enlightened but you and that they
are all your teachers, each doing
just the right thing to help you learn
perfect patience,, perfect wisdom,
perfect compassion, as you learn
that the secret of happiness is the
realization that life is a gift,

You have to wonder how
much of what weighs you
down is not yours to carry,
so don't talk, just act, don't
say, just show and don't
promise, just prove and
know that if you were a
bird you would know who
to **** on.

Unless it's a mad passionate,
extraordinary love, it's a
waste of your time because
there are too many mediocre
things in life and love
shouldn't be one of them so  
realize that love is like a
****, if you have to force it,
it's probably ****.

Believe in yourself and
when you say " yes " to
others, make sure you are
not saying "no" to yourself
and don't strop until you're
proud even if you have
to be loud.

Falling   in  love   is
easy. Having ***  is
easier. But bumping
into  someone   that
can spark your soul,
that   ****    is   rare.

I   no   longer   force
things.   What  flows,
flows. What  crashes,
crashes.  I only  have
space and energy for
things that are meant
for me.

Life is not about being
rich,   being    popular,
being  highly educated
or  being   perfect.   It's
about being real, humble,
and kind.                                                            ­            

Respect is for those who
deserve it, not for those
who demand it.

Some  people  say  they
can't see anything good
in  you.  Hug  them and
and  say  life  is difficult

Excuses will always be there for you
and opportunity won't, so remember
how far you have come along with
everything you have faced and all of
the battles you have won and all of
the fears you have overcome, while
realizing that life is too ironic to be
fully understood and remember that
you have the power to make the future
better than the present if you  have
power over your circumstances instead
of letting your circumstances have
power over you.

A positive attitude gives you power
over your circumstances so know that
you have the power to change your
life at any given moment and never
forget that, so laugh at the confusion,
smile through the tears, and keep
reminding yourself that everything
happens for a reason.

Everyone sees what you appear to be
but few experience what you really are,
so remember it takes sadness to know
what happiness is, noise to appreciate
silence, absence to value presence and
remember that no one is you and that
is your power, so live your dreams and
take risks because life is happening now.

Each day is a sentence
in the story of your life
and each day you can
make the choice of
whether that sentence
ends with a period, a
question mark or an
exclamation point!

Before you can live a
part of you has to die
as you let go of what
could have been and
realize what you are
here today because of
choices you made
yesterday and it doesn't
matter how hard it was
to make those choices
but that you did.

Choose thoughts that give
you the emotions of being
alive and excited about life
and know that you are here
today because of the choices
you made yesterday and that
you can change your tomorrow
today.

You cannot change where you
came from but you can change
where you are going by knowing
that you cannot continue down
the same path and expect to
arrive at a different destination.

Life is not lived with intentions
but with action and the past
cannot be changed so we must
carry those choices we made
in a few brief seconds and pay
for them in the time that we
remain here.

The movie never ends and it just
goes on and on and on and we
make the same mistakes over
and over again.

No apologies or excuses when
we can finally decide that our
life is our own and we alone
are responsible for the quality
of it and it is then that we
discover what an amazing
journey it is and it is then
that our life begins.

Limited because we always
seem to limit ourselves to what
we are told or to what is bought
and sold and what we can do
with what society tells us is
right or wrong so we just keep
replaying the same old song.

Images are given to us when
we are young about what is
right and what is wrong so we
sing their song until me are
mature enough to make our
own decisions that bring the
best results.

For the best we try to make
our life but sometimes we don't
count on the heart interfering
with our direction and playing
a major part  in our decisions
that we choose and this
sometimes causes us to go
wrong and we lose.

But by our mistakes we can
hope to get stronger
and realize that it is not
about how long we are here
but it is about what
we leave and how long
our legacy will last.

Eternity has no mass or no
dimensions but it lasts forever
and you can't hold it but you
can feel it as it just goes on
and on.

You can steer yourself in any
direction that you choose
because you are on your own
in this movie and only you can
choose where to go but you
should know that every challenge
be it great or small moves you
to look deeper and draw forth
the highest in you.

Burning and freezing at the
same time sometimes your
guarded heart sees defeat
but the feeling of love still
lingers in the heart but you
have to realize that it is gone
and you can't turn back and
the hours are not really ours
but only borrowed yet we

safety  of  my  arms,

You want my heart
because selflessness

my soul because energy

It is all about the money we learn
because money talks and suckers walk
and this is sometimes sad to say
but if there is no money
there are no friends only pretends
and no one looks anymore
because on money everything
depends.

Have it and here come the friends
and you are so beautiful
and seemingly so happy
and a little bit scrappy.

If you don't have it
you are invisible
and become depressed and insecure
and all of those other things
about which no one really cares
to look at or see so they
set you free.

When the money comes
you are suddenly set free
and all of a sudden it is just
about me, me, me
and you feel so good
and can do almost anything
with a little more
zing.

You see no more middle class
as all you see are the very needy
and the very greedy
because you are either
super rich or super poor
but you are always
wanting more.

If you are poor thay will
always show you the door
but when you have everything
and everything comes your way
you find life easy
and you don't even have
to be ****** and now you get to
show them the door.

It doesn't matter
if you are wealthy in knowledge
or rich with love
because you can't spend it
or deposit it into a bank
and only few can recognize
such wealth so when
push comes to shove
money in the hand is always
the most grand because
that is just the
way it is.

Moral of the story :
Find the money and your skies
will always be sunny
or get rich and you won't
have to live with a *****
and always listen to the money talk
or you will just be taking a walk
and having it is a must
because without it life is
just a big bust
so listen very carefully as
