Some memories
                  never  leave
       your  bones.  Like  salt  in
           the seas they  become
                 part  of  you.
           The smell of her hair,
              the taste of her
            mouth, the feeling
                 of her skin
         seemed  to get  inside
              of me, or into
            the air around me.
                    She had
      become  a physical necessity
          and  we  were  in  bed
     together  laughing  and   we
                didn't  care
            about   anything.
         The  strongest  drug
that  exists  for  a   human  is
         another human being
                   and the
                little things?
         The little moments?
                They aren't
                      little.

When we touch,
                      it as if a
            whole  new  world
                  of galaxies
       opens up and the universe
           conspires, the stars
       approve and the moon stops
              hiding long enough
                 to peer at us
from above, and for the first
        time,  finally,  something
             feels right and now
when I look at you I see my
                   whole world
           and  my  favorite  place
                 isn't  four  walls,
                    my favorite
               place  is  the feeling
I  get  when  I'm  with  you
               and I don't know
        where  I'm  going  to  be
             five years from now,
               but I pray that it's
       somewhere with a beautiful
                     view and
                  next  to  you.

Hearts  are  wild

creatures,   that's

why our ribs are

cages.

I    liked  her  smile,

but I  loved it when

I   was   the   reason.

She devoured   my

heart and somehow

left  me  wanting  to

   feed   her   more.

And even if I know

how  this story will

end,  I  would  still

read our story again

       and  again.

She  rolled  over,
       and  buried  half  her  face
             in her pillow,
        and  smiled slightly.

   It was then, the overwhelming
          realization hit me
               that there is
         so much more to life
     than  simply  surviving  it.

            And it was then I
     understood  that  we  are
                  mosaics -
            pieces  of  light,

                              love,

                              history,

                              stars -

       glued together with Magic
                                   and Music
                                   and Words.

The entire sum of existence is the magic

of being

needed by

just one person.

Help me to find

you when I search

for you.

I come to you

searching for courage

and comfort

to carry me through this day.

Thank you for being

near me when I reach

out to you for comfort.

And when I fall apart

you always put me back together again.                     Jon York   2019
