You are the ocean brine on unwashed skin
Baking in the sun, salt on my face and lips
Sticky discomfort that I cannot scrub
You cling to me and I hate you for it
Years and years, layers upon layers
I cannot peel you off
And I am suffocated by the scent of you
But I love to bathe in you
Feel you surrounding me, supporting me
You dull the burn of the sun
I glide in peace
And so I jump back in to wash you off
