Religious Anthem
You wear your religion like a brand,
Name only and judgement in hand.
Smiling and talking like you know what it is to be pious,
You have a way of converting this encounter into a riot.
If it's all about the looks,
Then all you stand for is nothing compared to the Sacred Book.
Your life is lived in the shadows,
A mirror image of your parents' lavish clothes.
Rage, jealousy and animosity is your forte,
and you have a degree in philosophy,
but if your brand is love and understanding,
then what do you know?
Oh my brother, oh my sister, oh my daughter, oh my son,
Why are you so quick to rule?
When are you done making yourself a fool?

Musical Hair
She runs her tiny delicate fingers through my dark hair,
She pauses, smiles and observes me with care.
As she continues, we play a musical duet,
Never to be repeated,
Throughout the years of our existence our song lives on
Never to be repeated.
When we get old and sit rocking in the chairs,
She runs her musical fingers through my hair,
And I know the dance will live through the years.
Never to be repeated.

Wasted
How did we end of like this?
Two hearts full of bliss,
Suddenly emptied into nothing but the abyss.
You once were my dream, my future to be,
And now I stand with a signal to leave.
I’ve been broken down, pushed beyond borders and left bare-naked,
Only to feel the bitterness of a relationship wasted.
Abandoned of love from both two significant others,
I feel as though my soul has suffered.
You came in only to destroy me from the inside,
And took what was left of my bright side.
Gone are the days of beauty and wonder,
Gone is the person I once loved,
Time is running away and you cannot keep me here longer.

Melodic Memories
If I had a piano with one key,
Would you hear my melody?
If the world was shaded with one color only,
Would you sit with me and still feel lonely?
If the books read by children no longer existed,
Would you recite the stories that I once resisted,
Or would you not remember on your own,
the memories delicately etched in stone?
Where the sun sets and the moon crashes into the ocean,
Would you travel with me to see the place I once found emotion?
Or what about the empty skies,
Would you paint them with beautiful lies?
If the butterfly could sing a melodic tune,
Would you live a thousand years just to see her beautiful cocoon,
Or would you lie wasting time, compensating life’s harmonic design? Come, Come, and dance away the melodic memories
That sweep through the valleys of unforgotten centuries.
Don’t hold back of what you have to fear,
Because when you find yourself,
I will be there.
Waiting, Sitting, Lying, and rejoicing for your journey is near,
And when you lay your heart at rest,
These melodic memories will become so clear.
