Red Robin
A red spot in the sea of green
As I stare into the trees
Wings, and feathers, and a beak
Leaves me silent without words to speak
Crowned in all its majesty
Spreads its wings to fly
Swoops and glides to lovers peak
Not lacking skills to try
All alone, not in a flock
A solitary bird
Flying all around from here to there
Leaves me speechless without words
With twigs and sticks it builds its nest
Eyes as black as night with puffy feathered crest
All the while, it chirps and sings
I’m obliged with all the joy it brings

The Punishment For Murder
The punishment for ******
Should always fit the crime
It shouldn’t ever happen
Though it happens all the time
What a curious thing it is to **** another man
I can not grasp the notion
Of the slaying with ones hands
It boggles my mind
To do such a crime
On the ground in which one stands

Bumbling Thumbs
Handling love with bumbling thumbs
As something so beautiful approaches and comes
Eyes tell no lies and I’m stunned by her grace
That holds me in silence
And keeps up the pace
Then walks past the terminus
With her head held up high
Without an existence
And no tears left to cry

Liquid Moon
I drank the moon
Off its tilted tip
Puckered up
And took a nip
Warm and frothy
When it touched my lips
Like mothers milk
Well worth the trip
Down my throat;
A liquid drip
Guzzled; instead
Of just one sip
Drank the moon
Then came to grips
Liquid moon
At my fingertips

Velvet Bows
Scars of the heart dig deep into my soul
Forgiveness is my failure
As I clear a space to grow
I wish you only happiness
Wrapped in maroon velvet bows
To see you getting on with life
Is a gift you shared and chose
The scar I wish stayed
So I can remember that day
When we were just young and oblivious
We worshiped the moon
Because the sun came too soon
And we liked the dark because it was mysterious
Sometimes the rain can engulf the flame
And save us from the spreading wild fires
When scars remain
It proves you’ve felt pain
And sometimes that’s our only desire

Tormented
Tormented;
She could not bear
The strangers looks
The strangers stares
She only wished
To disappear
Her energy
Was Just not there
She felt hallow
She felt bare
She tried to cope
She tried to care
A smile is what;
She could not wear
She was content;
With just breathing air

Checkmate
In the game of life
I’m a pawn
I could be right
I could be wrong
I do not aspire to trump your king
I do not aspire to do anything
I go along with the ebb and flow
Easy come and easy go
There is something that you should know
I won’t think twice to steal the show
My constituents, my peers, my friends
That’s how I feel when my thoughts turn red
The fire burns like hell on earth
What’s your value, what’s your worth
Where will you be when that fires gone
Knight takes bishop,
Rook takes pawn
Checkmate

Mankind’s Capacity
What’s in our eyes
Can’t be denied
It’s our guiding light
To focus in
When times grow dim
Can leave us hypnotized
So carry on with this in mind
And you’ll surely see
The trajectory of all mankind
Is mankind’s capacity

Metaphor
I was controlled under duress
Naughty none the less
Devilish and scandalous
While pounding on my chest
I am lion, hear me roar
Hush now baby, say no more
No tears shed forever more
It’s just a simple metaphor

Summers Good Intent
‪Lying on a bed of daisies ‬
‪With summers good intent ‬
‪Butterflies and ladybugs dancing on our heads‬
‪Eyes are shut, as we lay in peace‬
‪Listening for the sounds‬
‪Like birds that sing, and flap their wings‬
‪Way up high above the ground ‬
Sun is bright and filled with warmth
As it shines down on this place
Rays of sunlight bounced around
Puts a smile on our face
Vibrant colors here and there
As far as eyes can see
Crisp and clean, and so serine
Brings out the best in me

Finding Heaven
Disappointment is inevitable
When you’re held in high esteem
People let you down time and again
Although the pain is seldom seen
But the pain does go away with time
It’s important not to dwell
Because you’ll never know where heaven is
If you don’t first go through hell

If Vengeance Were A Faze
Remembrance of the words you said
Locked away without a key in head
Whilst up awake in bed
As sleep is sometimes fleeting
Those words were truly taken to heart
Delving into a brand new start
Ripped up, shredded, torn apart
As if vengeance were a faze

With A Single Word
The life we lead
Is full of strife
It’s whatever we create
And it’s us that chooses
Which way we go
That deciphers good or great
We don’t pick and choose
Win or lose
What ends up on our plate
Though the warmth of day
Or cold dark night
Puts it in a metaphoric state
The success or failure
Of our lives
Could end in a debate
And with our words
We rise or fall
By how they carry weight
To be lucky enough
To have the gift of gab
Is a most exclusive trait
For one single word
Whispered in the ear
Could open the floodgates
And what we do
With what we hear
We can mostly still relate

Four Letter Word
I have a little secret
I want it to be heard
I can’t bear to keep it to myself
I hope my words don’t come out slurred
It’s been a long time coming
I’m focused and undeterred
We need to grasp on to our time on earth
When life is a four letter word
Time is ever fleeting
Life is way too short
I can always lean on laughter
As my last resort
Because we all have value
Each one of us has worth
It’s experiences and memories
As we know that life is a four letter word
Life’s filled with disappointment
Obstacles and stress
It’s overcoming that can be challenging
Being put to the test
So gather those around you
Spreading love can be transferred
There’s no need for negativity
When life is a four letter word

Cloudless Skies
Along the road to the unknown
Under cloudless skies
Free to venture on alone
Without question or disguise

Come day or come night
In our hearts we’re still guided home

Plain As Day
I saw her plain as day; golden
Under streetlights where my heart was stolen
A beauty unlike all the rest
***** heaping out her chest
Angelic face and ocean eyes
Could see right through her poor disguise
And that is when I first realized
I’d fallen deep in love

Rainbows End
From a drizzle to a pour
Cold raindrops hit the floor
Splashing down where puddles form
Seeking shelter from the storm
No *** of gold at rainbows end
Clues I know not where or when
As gray skies hover overhead
Under covers in my bed
Pitter patter on the roof
Is all I need to hear as proof
As the sound on window panes
Is all that lasts or still remains

Comfort Zone
Words are in my comfort zone
My home away from home
When written they can convey
And express what’s the unknown
Whatever it is we’re feeling
Or sentiments not shown
Dispersing all of my emotions
But not with speech or tone
If only to make connections
So as not to feel alone
And harness all of my energy
To which I’m seldom prone

Nature Scene
In a portrait of a nature scene
Lies prickly thorns and dark green leaves
Bushes of the holly evergreen
The lush green foliage in between
Where the flowers are full in bloom
That recluse under the starlit moon
But rise again mid afternoon
Ascending up, tried and true

Superstition
Raining on our wedding day
As superstition goes
Luck, as it would have it
Outweighs the cons and pros
Mysteriously consensus
to my every conscious whim
To be with you both day and night
My patience too, wears thin
But diligence and fortitude
in my nature does exist
And if I had to live without you, you’d be missed

The Sweetest Lullaby
I’d go to any measure
As not to hear you cry
Don’t think that I take any pleasure
In extended long goodbyes
I’d take you to wherever
Come rain or come shine
Splashing puddles in some crazy weather
The apple of my eye
Resting head on pillow
The sweetest lullaby

He aimed
Finger on the trigger
Ready to shoot his shot
Danger only an after thought
With his anger smoking hot

And with gun in hand
He took his stand
Using violence as his words

Stormy weather

But the feeling which I writes intense
I’ll crash the waves from on the bow
I’ll venture forth when I have doubts

And reach for you without delay
I’ll listen to every word you say
Though you hesitate to speak
Full moon lurking in the stark and desolate sky
Moonlight shining down on unsuspecting passers by
Moonbeams and serenades
The apple of my eye
Which can only lead to passion
In the stillness of the night

Morning, noon, and night
I couldn’t read the gauges
They were tilted to the right
When my eyes adjusted
I was blinded by the light
They handed me sunglasses
Told me to hold on tight
Now I can see much better
And what I see is out of sight

I morphed into three stages
I then turned the other cheek
I didn’t want them knowing
If I were strong or I was weak
I took a trip to la la land
I got there counting sheep
I didn’t want to get you involved
But now you’re in too deep

The Poet’s Spell
Humanities sick, somewhat unwell
With pen and ink, I’ll write a new spell
A spell that could bring you right out of your shell
And bring some good fortune to this living hell
The spell was constructed right out of a book
There were no kinds of potions, nothing to cook
Just mind over matter and a confident look
And that is the pathway that I chose, and I took
But to my own knowledge, from what I can tell
Nothing‘s been working, not even my spell
