Faded
A life once lived
Along with the dust
Gave all that he could give
Memories
Lost with time that’s passed
Trinkets are all that’s left
Of things that he amassed
Subtle little novelties
Time now has forgot
Locked inside a mystery
For answers I know not

Humanities sick, somewhat unwell
With pen and ink, I’ll write a new spell
A spell that could bring you right out of your shell
And bring some good fortune to this living hell
The spell was constructed right out of a book
There were no kinds of potions, nothing to cook
Just mind over matter and a confident look
And that is the pathway that I chose, and I took
But to my own knowledge, from what I can tell
Nothing‘s been working, not even my spell

You lift me up
Even higher
Higher than I’ve ever been before
You fill me up
With desire
Your body
I want to explore
You lift me up
You give me hope
You’re the embodiment
Of at peace
You lift me up
To new elevations
Higher than I ever thought I’d reach

Streamlined into the universe
By meditations pull
Cognizant of all living life
Within my mapped out inner skull
Sound vibrations, infused creation
Where images roam free
Accepting everything and one
That the minds eye clearly sees
No religion; no colored skin
Just a life force
That moves with the wind

I sense your presence nearby
Your fragrance; from afar
It transforms my emotions
Like a tinsel string guitar

It’s something deep inside of me
To know it, I’d be yours
The evanescent blank look stare
Across the distant shores

A look that’s retrospective
Searching memories to date
Longing for an invitation to
The cemetery gates

Where past loves lay to rest
And ghosts are free to roam
Hoping that the day will come
They find their way back home

In a spooky kind of way
The skies had all turned gray
And the moon was pale and cold to start the winter
In the full moons lazy eye
I could see the witches fly
While screeching laughter heard throughout the night
A stirring chill that reeked of death and fright
And although they tried and failed
  I can still tell the scary tale
To protect you and make sure that you’re alright

In their shabby battle gear
Many men were filled with fear
Hand selected to be sent
Aware they’d meet their bitter end
But fight they must, with shields and spears
And courage, strength, and gnarly sneers
To guard their own and hold their turf
They hold so dear for all it’s worth

I counted the stars under the city lights
I saw them, just passed the clouds
They looked like bright, shiny diamonds
So I didn’t mind standing near cows
As I looked closely, I saw constellations
They told stories of how things used to be
Things that went back thousands of years
Much earlier than the years of A.D.
As I counted to a very high number
The stars all blurred into one
And I made a wish right there in that moment
That I would soon again see the bright sun

Loneliness is a heartbeats gasp
Remembrance of a lonesome past
Until the day we met and clashed
Your eyes gazed at a moments last
Seductive gestures we once grasped
Slightly above being harassed
Thrown away, forgotten, trashed
For money rendered and fists of cash

Hunting bound
Along the ground
Over rough terrain
Searching for today’s prey
Then back from where they came
Shoot to ****
For the thrill
Then harvest the remains
A get away
A small escape
From the every day

Distance makes the heart grow fonder
Not too near, but over yonder
Longing to wrap you in my arms
And woo you with my boyish charm

Whisper words of sweet delight
The essence of how how I feel
Under skies of pale moonlight
In hopes to seal the deal

These are the dreams I have at night
My heart you’ve gotten hold
Dancing in poetic form
Is something to behold

I soak in your attendance
Your spoken words like music to my ears
But, my dreams only seem to fade away
When reality draws near

You’re far into the distance
Across the hemisphere
So I’ll bow my head in silent jest
And wipe away my tears

Until the day I can hold your hand
Till I can look you in your eyes
Although you are so far away
Please know that you’re my prize

At the brink, the turning point
Near the waters edge
Looking down on an unfulfilled life
The muck, the weeds, the dredge
Gathering up the courage
To step down off the ledge
A promise to thine own self
My vow, my word, my pledge

In darkness
I see the light
Although dim
And not too bright
That’s where all
The secrets lie
In the mind
Behind closed eyes
That’s where all
The dreamers dream
With opened eyes
They shine agleam
Withstanding shadows
Seldom seen
And where broken hearts
Can get redeemed

My inspiration was me
After all the hiding and seek
Searching the globe
Away from my home
It couldn’t hurt to have a peek

Born out of need
Success guaranteed
Passion for the well to do
Planting little seeds

Praise a welcomed feeling
After years of self abuse
It’s like my body and my mind
Finally called a truce

Exchange for new proud parents
Seems perfectly legit
All the smiles and the slaps on back
After exclaiming that I quit!

Weight up off of my shoulders
Stars perfectly aligned
A fresh start in a new career
I expect will turn out fine

She’s gone, not forgotten
A love that was lost
After I went all in
Without care for the cost
I loved her smile
The gleam in her eyes
The “How was your day, dear?”
My birthday surprise
But one day she left me
And I laid her to rest
Now my life’s lost its meaning
In my heart’s beating chest
I see her in flowers
I hear her through birds
Singing their love songs
In pitch, without words
I feel her in the sunshine
As I bask in the light
I miss her companionship
And the kisses goodnight
She had charisma
A radiant glow
I love and I miss her
Why did she have to go?

Swept up and stirred
Bemused by her words
Spoken in terms
I haven’t yet learned

Which lends to concern

Taken, whisked away
From her heavenly kiss
Stripped of its bliss
Forsaken and missed

By hearts shaped like lips

It is there I wish to be

Spiritual euphoria
I begin to swoon
Dancing with the spirits
Healing open wounds
At one with the universe
On any given opportune
Staving off the sickness
To which I’ve become immune
In rhythm with my chakra
Not a moment too soon
Proned to mass hysteria
Howling at the moon

She puts her victims under a spell
And walks amongst the dead from hell
It’s from there the demons are dispersed
Behind her eyes the darkness lurks
Despite her look of innocence
And dressed up in her Sunday best
Lies and evil looming amongst all of us
Bloodthirsty and carnivorous
With her fangs and pointy teeth
She stalks her prey before she eats
Her quest for flesh, her quest for blood
Allows evil to triumph over good
Can demons be misunderstood
Does nature act the way it should
Or does the devil concur over all and thrive
On the unknown dead that remain alive
Empathy is a care they lack
No protocol, no way to act
Just the smell of fear, while under attack
And the last breathe before it all goes black

No one questioned he was stalwart
Reliable and crass
He would always meet you promptly
Exactly at half past
But then he’d turn the other cheek
And walk off in a huff
But you weren’t having any of it
And always called his bluff

Praise to the life force that drives my imagination
That keeps me young
Despite my obligations
Whether it be with words or paint
I cherish my creations
Despite all of my critics and their interrogations
I don’t let it get to me and cause me my frustrations
I would rather wait on the applause and the loud standing ovations
It gives me my inner peace and is truly my salvation
That clears my mind and rids me of my harnessed agitation
It keeps me glued in wonder, with utmost admiration
It has its way to lure me in, grab hold my captivation
And sends me on a journey, to fulfill my lifelong aspirations

It came to my attention
There’s a nation run by elves
Where they all have pointy ears
And wear big hats with bells
Once every year, come rain or shine
They sing, and laugh, and cheer
While presents fill up all the homes
And the sadness disappears

What we call sea
Is where oceans home

To many species
Some unknown

Though pollution may
Be too real

The ocean still
Has its appeal

In all its splendor
Though not crystal clear

The ocean holds
What’s near and dear

To the heart
To the soul

To the breaking waves
Topped with foam

Fairy tales and stories wrote
Of pirates who had famous quotes

Sharks, and whales, fish, and boats
Things that sink, and things afloat

And although we’re not alone
It’s not far fetched
To call ocean home

Deep within the childs eyes
Forms the tears the child cries
Hidden in the deepest woods
That acts as safety in disguise
The pain seen, goes unrealized
The victim in a senseless crime
That leaves the child traumatized
Worse for wear and desensitized

Reflecting from within me
The man to which I’ve grown
From that child without courage
That I rejected and disowned
Now I stand before you
Strong, and fierce, and free
Like a lion in the jungle
The undisputed king
Not the gazelle that’s always frightened
Running; catching speed
There’s no room for reservations
There’s no purpose or a need
Only a calming self awareness
That I’ve now reached my peak
A strong and healthy lion
Feasting on the weak

Her eyes pierced right through my body
I was shaken to the bone
Like emerald jewels they sparkled
That it felt like I was home
Her skin was soft like pillows
Her hair so bright it glowed
As did the aura that surrounded her
My fingers free to roam
Her body dangled with grace and beauty
That I had to grab on hold
Like a sweet and supple flower
It sent me to a place unknown
There she bloomed before my eyes
Like a sentimental poem
And with a whisper she exposed herself
And let out a gentle moan
I was mesmerized by her curvature
That I thought I would explode
And a smile ran across my face
When it was clear she was my own

Unsatisfied desires
Dripping down with sweat
Drenched in musky manliness
Smothered in regret
Perspiration beading
Down the panes of my window
Weighing out the options
Count them as they go
A single bead descends
Down past my navel
Hesitate and lose
Or stop it if you’re able

When the frame has come into focus
But the flame is still set too dim
Throw a wood log on to the fire
And fill my cup up to the brim

Tonight, let us rest on pillows
Where we lay our weary heads
And tomorrow we’ll begin anew
Once awoken from our beds

Distance makes the heart grow fonder
Whether near, or over yonder
Through my phone, awe still inspires
While separate for the coronavirus
Hearts maintain if love is pure
So I remain, behind closed doors
When hearts are full, and love is blind
Profess your love through FaceTime.

There’s no need to hide
Behind a truths disguise
When all you hear
Are insignificant, petty lies
Just the notion to tantalize
Your intuitions vision
And with respect
To visualize
Your true life’s ambition
Is not a feeling
Or decision
Only ones life‘s mission

Nothings ever cut and dry
No sentiment or long goodbyes
Just excuses for the reasons why
When there’s failure to comply
Sitting, waiting to reply
On a story based on lies
Especially when you’ve been denied
Concede and say “At least I tried”

Drained and scorched
A land of waste
Desolate of
The human race
Parched pavement on
The hard dry land
Seems nothing ever
Goes as planned
Dried up river
Turned to dust
The end grows nearer
On the cusp

Deep in thought
She questions life
What’s her purpose?
Where’s her drive?
Is she at the mercy of God’s decree?
Or will she overcome triumphantly?
She shouts towards heaven
She begs and pleads
She needs the answers
She now seeks
Overhead, unbelievably
The clouds form, collectively
The clouds are drenched
In an orange hue
Swirling above the ocean blue
With her faith in doubt
And her desires gone
She takes some comfort in
The break of dawn

Skies of gold and a scarlet moon
Rises like a red balloon 🎈
Chiseled as a hard stone hewn
To dance on earth with your soul attune
And even when the sky turns blue
My thoughts of you come way too soon
In the morning or late afternoon
Your presence feels like a strong typhoon
That whisks away to make more room
For my bleeding heart and it’s impending doom

I miss the roar of the crowd
The feel and the sound
The viewing of sports
All the year round
I miss the steal and the dunk
Fans getting drunk
The swish out from three
From the top of the key
I miss the dive and the catch
I’ve grown so attached
Go away virus
I feel so detached

Just a boy and his faithful dog
In the winter down by the lake
They sat and watched the ducks at play
While making little wake
They listened to the mating calls
And picked out their favorite ones
Then they both went home to eat
As the moon replaced the sun

Enchanted waters
To heal the soul
Letting go
Of all you know
Some piece of mind
For silent thoughts
Projected vibes
That can’t be bought
Relaxed, at ease
In warming glow
Rediscovering again
All there is to know

It’s just how I was raised
Not looking for your praise
Just an outline into who I am
To help you better understand

What I must do now
Or at least for the duration
Is gather up my thoughts
My endless permutations
Align them up in order
From importance there within
And begin to check them off
To at last accomplish them
Prioritize
Then demonstrate
The life that I
Wish to create
