Rainbows End
The rain had come and gone
The sun shone bright and proud
We all gazed up at the spectacle
At the rainbow in the clouds
All the colors of the spectrum
The *** of gold a tease
Waiting on the other side
The end just past the trees

‪It’s winter in a painting ‬
‪With tones of color sprinkled in‬

Hues of red and yellow
And buildings dark as night
That separates the contrast

His Shield
He stood behind his shield; his badge
He was bullied in his youth
He chased and chased for justice sake
Always in pursuit
He volunteered to clean the streets
And to always tell the truth
Then he rescued all from danger
While remaining calm and cool
Hounded by reporters
Doing what they do
Don’t be who aren’t
Just be yourself, be you
The light will find its way to the top
It can’t help but be pushed through
To the surface where the darkness
Is lit up by the moon

Luscious Fruit
A perfect luscious fruit
Under summers yellow light
Sap bouncing off the window
With each passing juicy bite

Morning views and sweet perfume
Dust, wafting trough the lay
Settled on the bare hard wood

Falling Away
Pieces of her fell away
Happens more each and every day
Bit her tongue for everything that she had to say
Got pushed aside even though she wasn’t in the way

It’s a cycle, it’s a travesty
It’s a ******* mystery
How every outpost blew up from a live grenade
From here to there all up and down the freeway

It’s a war zone, it’s a free range
It’s taking cover when the law breaks
When animals get a fair shake
There’s only so much more that she can take

She never spoke up;
She kept inside all her suppressed rage
She walked right out of her birdcage
Into bright lights and a grand stage
When all she wanted was a fair wage

It’s a cycle, it’s a travesty
It’s a ******* mystery
How every outpost blew up from a live grenade
From here to there all up and down the freeway

From the city, to the government
They dictate how our lives are spent
Overcast and the skies are gray
Above our land as the world decays

If this was a book, I would turn the page
If the color of skin turned from brown to beige
Would this be handled in the same way?
But even then, it’s too hard to gauge

It’s a cycle, it’s a travesty
It’s a ******* mystery
How every outpost blew up from a live grenade
From here to there all up and down the freeway

She doesn’t cough when she talks
She doesn’t shimmy when she walks
She don’t judge, and she don’t speak
She just nods her head and agrees

For fear of something that might be said
Don’t look now, but she wound up dead
Over something in the paper that she thought she read
Hit the ground from a bullet traveling through her head

Pieces of her fell away
Happens more each and every day
Bit her tongue for everything that she had to say
Got pushed aside even though she wasn’t in the way

It’s a cycle, it’s a travesty
It’s a ******* mystery
How every outpost blew up from a live grenade
From here to there all up and down the freeway

It’s a war zone, it’s a free range

Growing Rainbows
Susie grew a rainbow
By pouring out her dreams
The water was quite essential
To grow the magic seeds
Greens, and reds, and yellows too
As well as her favorite color blue
All were present
All were there
For her to nurture
For her to share

Paint The World
I want to paint the world
In pigments and in hues
A multicolored planet
With fascinating views

I want to paint the world
I want to make a splash
Like painting off-white covered mountains
And shades of green for grass

I want to paint the world
The roses, scarlet red
With a dash of yellow lightning
To electrify and spread

I want to paint the world
It’s the least that I can do
Light brown grains of sand
And the sky and water, blue

I want to paint the world
To help stimulate our minds
Pleasing with our vision
And pleasant to our eyes

I want to paint the world
Under different shades of light
And photograph with pictures
The colors shining bright

Hearts Song
The hearts song
A melody
Sound waves that caress
Pleasing music to my ears
Rhythm and finesse
Sing to me a new song
But try and be discrete
Sing to me a new song
That one day I can repeat
Sing to me
Sing to me my sweet
That I should go to sleep tonight
Dancing with you in my dreams

Those Pretty Eyes
Those pretty eyes of crystals glimmer
In moonlight shimmers
In sparkling rivers
Those pretty eyes of disbelief
Causing tremors beneath my feet
Shy and humble
Elite petite
Batting eyes of pure mystique
To lasso every man you meet
Just to have them bow and admit defeat

Where autumns been replaced

Because Of You
I found my life going widdershins
I bent and broke the rules
It wasn’t my intention
I swear, I tell the truth
I grew up quite unlucky
From the very start
I was just misunderstood
With a great big heart
Today I am content
I smile my life through
All because of you
All because of you
It wasn’t long before I was lost
Even though I had the address
It’s the reason why I broke out in hives
The essence of my stress
When I turned the corner
The streets looked all the same
And it seems I was on the only street on earth
That doesn’t have a name

I can’t help but to stare
The way it is you’re standing there

Until I’m beached along the shore
I’d crash my ship on to dry land
To see you just once more

In the woods of dark mystique

None to speak to or to tell

Not having walked a mile in his shoes

When Dreams Come True
If I could make one dream come true
All my moments would be spent with you
The sun would rise and set at dusk
As we confide in who we trust
With words and actions that we hold so dear
The rain would come, then disappear
Back in the clouds up in the sky
Cover overhead to keep us dry
There’s that twinkle in your eyes
That keeps me humble, kind, and wise

Move Past Your Past
Forge ahead to the your golden years
Leave the past behind
Where trouble brews and paid dues
Get the best of you you’ll find
Do not dwell on past regrets
Make new experiences your fix
Where the magic is in your attitude
Not made up parlor tricks
Forgive and move on, to a life to call your own
If pathetic was the word used, at a time you felt alone
Do not be misguided
Instead, fulfill your dreams
Because the past can only
bring you down
And drop you to yours knees
Resentment is the devils tool
To lead you far astray
Give in only to your latitude
And pray you find your way

The Sleepwalk
I grow naturally suspicious
When you sleepwalk past my heart
It’s my only inclination
That we’re growing far apart
Could be I’m just paranoid
To lose you to your dreams
I hope my inclination to your destination
Isn’t what it seems
You journey towards the window at night
A window I locked tight
So you don’t open up the latch
Attempting to take flight
Is this your subconsciouses doing
Should I be terrified to sleep
For fear of losing you to you
Am I protector of the weak
Are you a vessel for your demons
Are you at their beckoned call
Do they lift you up by angels wings
Just to watch you fall
I am not a savior
Barely a protector of myself
But I’ll battle with you until the end
If that’s any sort of help
I’ll brandish out my sword
I will wield my shield
I’ll listen to every single word
Until all has been revealed
Until all the evils gone
No more optical illusions
But the will to carry on

Wretched In The Nude
It was a peculiar color
An ominous hue
A painful assertion
Of black and blue
I was enlightened and frightened. What was I to do?
What’s this odd color that had become misconstrued?
So I wiped it away and returned it to you
With a new baby blue on the soles of my shoes
But you didn’t accept it
And you said we were through
And that’s when I knew
And that’s when I knew
You could not be pursued
And you were wretched and rude
But still, you were ****, standing there in the ****

Role Reversal
My reflection makes me look away
From a toothless grin
That the years have left me shriveled up
My skin now paper thin
But in these eyes
Is an old, but wise
Soul who’s long been cursed
Stand in my shoes
And you’ll see
How the roles were if reversed
Turned over every single stone
Thought I’d found a winner
Instead found me a sinner
Standing there naked all alone
Breaking young men’s hearts
All to be a part
Of colossal, grand, elaborate scheme
And doing it just to be mean

An in tone singing sparrow
With fresh new melodies

He sings his melodic tune
That echos in the passing breeze
