Little Scratches
It was nothing but a flesh wound
A measly little scratch
I had startled the fearsome feline
When I reached down to pet the cat
She was hesitant at first
But after awhile
She came and sat atop my lap
Feisty like the dickens
Playful as a kitten
That regal little brat

I Never Pick Up
When the phone rang, I didn’t answer
It was because I had nothing to say
I didn’t want questions
Or nice conversation
I just wanted to be left by the way
To be put aside like a book
Are you a pawn or a rook?
Do you steal hearts like an infamous crook?
Do you get jealous?
Sometimes overzealous
Or are you just hoping that someone will look?
I’ve got good vision
I’ve been sent on a mission
I’ll slay the red dragon today
I’ve been given my rations
I’m filled up with passion
And I’m not even the least bit afraid

Bursting Bubbles
Multicolored ***** of air
Steady floating everywhere
Buoyant; seeing double
Life inside a bursting bubble
Clear reflective mirror image
Of a town, or a small village
Until it pops, oh, the joy
For every little girl and boy

Symmetry
Fresh tea leaf aromas
Surrounding entities that be
Dusty book aesthetics
Pleasing symmetry
The lines are all connected
The ingredients are chic
But the underlying is eloquent
Elegant, yet sweet
Bumblebees and dragonflies
Busy with their buzz
Suspended in the brisk winter air
As an insect does
Hovering in the garden
Airborne under trees
To say hello to their neighbors
Like the ticks and fleas

Gold
Gold
Through words; cannot be told
Heaven in a sunset
Colors bright and bold

Sun rays peek
Through sun drenched clouds
Silhouettes
In small amounts

Over water
The sun hovers in jest
Suspended in perfection
Yet, bound for the wide west
She dealt with her frustration
The abnegation of her pride
She never allowed herself to feel
What it felt to be alive
So she took the time to learn it
She sought out far and wide
The feeling that had eluded her
From where it was derived
She searched entire nations
She searched the country side
For all that she’d been missing
All she’d been deprived
How I love her deeply
Going to make her my
bride
She makes me feel sensations
In tune with my vibe
That’s why I’m in love with her
If I can’t have her I’ll die
Thank god she feels like I do
That’s why she’s now my wife
Don’t know what I’d do
If she weren’t in my life

Singed To Ashes
The wick is lit
The flame grows higher
As my love for you
Burns with fire
Balled up in
A scorching blaze
It’s uncontrollable
Cannot be tamed
As the heat
Grows even higher
I am one
With my desire
My burning heart
Yearns for pain
Singed to ashes
In the burning flames

If It’s All The Same
Toying with my heartstrings
Playing silly games
Lending to my desires
You should feel ashamed
Feelings can be #dangerous
Can drive a man insane
I’ll not play the part of pawn
If it’s all the same
Stirring up the melting ***
Completely unrestrained
Completely unrestricted
Shouting out my name

World Wide
Everything comes full circle
Through the faces in the crowd
Often it’s no wonder
Why we can’t drown out the sound
People from all over
From every walk of life
Join as one, under the sun
And span the whole world wide
What do clouds taste like?
Are they just a puff of air?
Or do they taste like cotton candy
That I would like to have and share?
Are they tasty on the taste buds?
Can you chew them with your teeth?
Are they sweet or savory
Or are they doughy needing yeast?
Whichever way you cook them
Will they dance upon your pallet?
Will they give you indigestion?
Or are they healthy like a carrot?
And however will I pick them
Do they come in large and small?
Can I wrap them up in paper?
Can I buy them at the mall?
Maybe I should leave the clouds alone
And gaze up in all their wonder
Until the clouds all turn to gray
And there’s lightning, and there’s thunder
Then I will have a home-cooked meal
Stay cozy by the fire
And dream about what a cloud tastes like
While bogged down in the mire

Pretty Shells
Pretty shells
Along the briny beach
Ocean crash
And sun ray beams
Hot wet sand
And a stiffened breeze
Cold ice cream
A seagulls screech
Horizon far
And out of reach
All alone
On a secluded beach

She’s my American dream
Part of my team
Cunning and kind
The likes of which I’ve never seen
Playful and nice

Without thinking twice
And what’s left of the doubt
Through in and through out
Positive thinking
Is what it’s all about

Treasure
Will I render to life‘s temptations
Seek out treasure far and wide
Contribute to a wealthy bounty
Or to my own demise
And when I find my treasure
How will it compare
To my monumental moments
With whom I choose to share
The single, the one, the last
Hasten to join the dance
Not letting go; swaying to and fro
To the sound that’ll keep you in a trance

The sole survivor; the last to leave
The super trooper that bobs and weaves
The lonely path of freedoms stay
And it wouldn’t want it any other way

A stolen glance
A heartbeat missed
A daydream, of pouty lips
The gentle touch of holding hands
The sacred vow of woman; man
Not the emptiness of a one night stand
But joined together in a whole life span
A daydream in the afternoon
Dizzy; for my heart beats true
With thoughts of you
With thoughts of you

A rather loud applause

Ocean Pearls
A ripple forms an endless tide
Turns water into a theme park ride
With waves crashing down and forming swirls
The colors; blue, with ocean pearls
Crisp and strong; the current falls
Making big, look really small
For as far out as the horizons end
More ocean than there is dry land

The Last Plateau
Electric skies fill the night
Man overboard clinging to life
But the sea swallowed him up whole
In the mist and foggy glow
Although he tried to reach
Through the bitter cold
He could not reach his last plateau
So he sunk off the east coast
For what reason
No one knows
What led him to his resting place
Caused by the life he chose

Sex Appeal
Supple, moved by feel
Convoluted, enamored by your *** appeal
Difficult to look away
Try as though I may
Forbearing, I steal a second glance
Earn another chance
To ask you for this dance

Your back arches
Revealing your smooth curves
More than one deserves
I’ve inherited the earth

A kiss to the lips
Hands on hips
Tips and dips
Or passing ships?

Hair like golden fleece
Practice what is preached
Not by bounds, but leaps

It’s only contingent on whether we’re equally enamored
To be honest, I’d be quite flattered
But at the same time, empowered
And soon you’d be devoured
And undoubtedly deflowered
My lovely lady queen.

Focusing on the negative
Going way off the track
Headed towards disaster
With no way to turn back
Offering up a solution
As to counteract

There’s no one under attack
Only resolution
As white is to black

‪And the bird who flapped his wings ‬

A quality quite rare
Every time I ask for you

It’s a quaint conundrum
The details, I won’t spare
Searching for a diamond
To become a millionaire
To bring me some continuity
Over a period of time
And maybe wet my whistle
Sit back and unwind
But mostly I’d be giving
A fruitful debonair
In constant connection with the universe
Humble, with a flare
It may be a long shot
On this, I would agree
But then again
You don’t really understand

Down By The River
Down by the river shore
Where old tales come alive
It sends shivers down my spine
And dreams wither up and die
There’s a story of a lovely woman
That rises from deep depths
And grants fishermen’s wishes
That are seldom ever kept
She whispers little lies
That the fishermen want to hear
And she works on their emotions
That often stem from fear
Her beauty is seductive
Her powers well in tune
To men that come from all around
But leave us way too soon
She promises them good fortune
That they’d catch fish as big as whales
But let this be a warning;
A cautionary tale
Her veins are filled with venom
Her heart rotten to its core
She’ll gobble up all the weak
And be still left wanting more
So beware of where you cast your hooks
In lakes, rivers, and streams
And be sure not to underestimate
The secrets that men keep
