Gold
Gold
Through words; cannot be told
Heaven in a sunset
Colors bright and bold

Sun rays peek
Through sun drenched clouds
Silhouettes
In small amounts

Over water
The sun hovers in jest
Suspended in perfection
Yet, bound for the wide west

If Only For A Moment
If only for a moment
A glimpse of what’s to come
Forgiving all my enemies
Spreading joy with there was none
Soaking up the misery
Filling up my cup
Doing all that I can do
Hoping it’s enough
Exploring holy sanctity
Never was my cup of tea
Never giving up or in
Saving me from me

What Fate Awaits
Deep dark eyes that infiltrate
Beyond the mystery
Past the walls
Of heavens gate
Hard lines of a troubled face
Daring you to commiserate
And share their thoughts
Heart eager to embrace
For lost hopes tremble
Existing to regenerate
A slice of hope
For what fate awaits

The Oceans Roar
Waves crash against the oceans shore
The sound as such, it leaves you wanting more
Powerful, not unlike a lions roar
That draws you in, too hard to ignore
We value it’s serenity, it’s beauty, and allure
It’s in our very nature, a connection to our core
It’s intriguing enough, that we feel we must explore
All that it contains, even what’s on the ocean floor

Dressed to cause a stir
In plaid, with hat and fur
Such things still occur
Be it as it were
A portrait of the cutest kind
Kittens fully clothed
Pushed around in carriage by
A pup, and his wet nose

Ocean Pearls
A ripple forms an endless tide
Turns water into a theme park ride
With waves crashing down and forming swirls
The colors; blue, with ocean pearls
Crisp and strong; the current falls
Making big, look really small
For as far out as the horizons end
More ocean than there is dry land

If I Could Make A Wish
‪If I could make a wish‬
‪I’d wish for love and peace‬
‪Surrounded by all colors‬
‪Of each person, race, and creed‬
‪If I could make a wish‬
‪I’d make it just under the horizon‬
‪Where my mood flows with the breeze‬
‪Just like a dandelion ‬
If I could make a wish
I’d focus on simplicity
Where my thoughts were one with nature
In the foliage and the trees
If I could make a wish

Manifested
I’ve been searching for some time
To find a way to ease my mind
Along the way on down the line
I hope to find it in my prime

I focused in on my abilities
To create something that this world needs
I put it out there to be received
Then revealed my true identity

I’m a man with thoughts
With big ideas
I think so loud
That no one hears

The information
The creation in my head
Manifests itself
But it’s form I can’t defend

From vision quests
To shaman’s spells
What’s done is done
So I’m compelled

My greatest hope
My uncertainty
To be knocked back
Into obscurity

To fail and fail and fail and fail
Before catching wind and setting sail
The heart is in the journey

Mother Nature’s Art
Spinning tops and raindrops
Falling from the sky
Bouncing off my tongue
In the saturated night
Ducks and frogs gallivanting
As weather meets their needs
Soil once parched and dry
Now nourish buried seeds
The wondrously beautiful
Ever changing parts
With a pallet knife is the masterpiece
Of Mother Nature’s art

‪She rarely smiled, her life was vile‬
‪Wallowing, amidst all the grease and grime‬

‪Her courage was a virtue‬
‪Despite everything she’d been through‬

‪And a rigid attitude

‪Her name was sullied ‬
‪She’d been bullied ‬
‪But still, her nature was always to be kind‬
A rare quality you seldom ever find

The Last Plateau
Electric skies fill the night
Man overboard clinging to life
But the sea swallowed him up whole
In the mist and foggy glow
Although he tried to reach
Through the bitter cold
He could not reach his last plateau
So he sunk off the east coast
For what reason
No one knows
What led him to his resting place
Caused by the life he chose

And tear away the pit inside the peach

Counting Stars
The gentle stars
Glisten in the nighttime sky
As millions and millions of years go by
They dangle motionless
To the naked eye
Forming stories to be told to generations
The meddling moon
Stirs the ***
The shadows, they loom large
Covering up the planet earth
Attempting to barrage
Our inner thoughts
Our inner peace
They’re the ones I like the
least
Hoping some day to scream out “release!”
To the setting sun
As the crashing tide comes in
I know not where to begin
Counting down the stars

To share with all
In spring or fall
Your spirit I can lift
I’m found
Feet firmly on the ground
Angels watching over me
Circling all around

Down By The River
Down by the river shore
Where old tales come alive
It sends shivers down my spine
And dreams wither up and die
There’s a story of a lovely woman
That rises from deep depths
And grants fishermen’s wishes
That are seldom ever kept
She whispers little lies
That the fishermen want to hear
And she works on their emotions
That often stem from fear
Her beauty is seductive
Her powers well in tune
To men that come from all around
But leave us way too soon
She promises them good fortune
That they’d catch fish as big as whales
But let this be a warning;
A cautionary tale
Her veins are filled with venom
Her heart rotten to its core
She’ll gobble up all the weak
And be still left wanting more
So beware of where you cast your hooks
In lakes, rivers, and streams
And be sure not to underestimate
The secrets that men keep

Top Secret
The secrets in the trash-bin
Torched and set ablaze
Things that make your head spin
You’d simply be amazed
The lengths that people go to
To hide all from others view
And once the fires’ started
There’s no more that you can do
The questions go unanswered
As does the knowledge go untold
In the search for more intelligence
The truth dies in the trash-bin
With the secrets that it holds

The Grassy Knoll
The Grassy Knoll

I fell into a deep sleep on the grassy knoll in the field
With the wind rustling the leaves of the trees in spring
Leaves of yellow, orange, and gold
As the leaves danced with the breeze in perfect harmony
I slept, and I dreamed
I dreamt of the leaves in the springtime 🍁
I seldom write poems without rhyming the words. This was an attempt to do so.

Beside Myself
Secret looks
A passing glance
A goodbye kiss

Fighting through the fog
I was lost; beside myself
Until you come along

Though the proximity is close
Rising to the Sunday sun
Drinking from a hose

Combining, yet dividing
How do you propose?
By seducing Mother Nature
With the petals of a rose

My Minds Scenario
My Minds Scenario

I write because the moments right
A write to heal my soul
To vent all of my frustration
And to clear out some room to grow

I’m passionate about the way I feel
When I relinquish my control
It lets me hold on to something real
And embrace my pain and sorrow

If I hold on to it for too long
I start to feel real low
I need some way to release it
And to let my feelings show

Some people look to self medicate
Others hit skid row
But I’m not going down that path
In my minds scenario

So I write down everything I think
To help learn what I don’t already know
Maybe there’s something that clicks
That I learned so long ago

With A Single Word
The life we lead
Is full of strife
It’s whatever we create
And it’s us that chooses
Which way we go
That deciphers good or great
We don’t pick and choose
Win or lose
What ends up on our plate
Though the warmth of day
Or cold dark night
Puts it in a metaphoric state
The success or failure
Of our lives
Could end in a debate
And with our words
We rise or fall
By how they carry weight
To be lucky enough
To have the gift of gab
Is a most exclusive trait
For one single word
Whispered in the ear
Could open the floodgates
And what we do
With what we hear
We can mostly still relate

Dizzy; for my heart beats true
With thoughts of you

To walk with pride

Hands raised in true victory form

Just once to feel the cheers out loud
To walk amongst the peerless clouds
The silver lining
The light of day
A victory they can’t take away
Trophies, medals,
Certificates
I want it all to boost my confidence
The feeling of triumph and joy
To rise above;
