‪As I watched the ball go through the net‬
‪I pondered what I hadn’t yet‬

‪Contemplating my retirement‬
‪Even still, with no ill intent ‬
‪I value my accomplishments‬
‪And what might not seem heaven sent‬

Focusing on the negative
Going way off the track
Headed towards disaster
With no way to turn back
Offering up a solution
As to counteract
The grandest illusion
Not fiction, but fact
Forgive the intrusion
There’s no one under attack
Only resolution
As white is to black

I have to ask
Were your feelings hurt
When I no longer was the center of your universe?
Now the stars are unaligned
We’re wasting precious time
Waiting for something better to arrive

With moonlight at a standstill
The susurration rustling through the trees
As echoes unfold
Though bitten by cold
It still leaves me weak at the knees
Now bundled with scarf
To warm up my heart
Down to my knickers and socks
When night is discovered
Unfurled with wonder
In my attempt to think out of the box

Somewhere in my dreams
I saw the strangest thing
Colossal hands claiming to be land
They encompassed the whole earth
For all the earth was worth
Skies and lions
Oceans deep
Clouds a plenty
Birds and sheep
Waterfalls and tall green trees
Helps describe what my mind sees

Will I render to life‘s temptations
Seek out treasure far and wide
Contribute to a wealthy bounty
Or to my own demise
And when I find my treasure
How will it compare
To my monumental moments
With whom I choose to share

I’m thinking up words for my rhymes
Thinking of causes as I’m marching for dimes
I’ve been painting and creating my art
I’m no master painter, but, at least it’s a start
I’m feeling much better and I’m able to do
The things I put off, but want to pursue
I’m taking a trip to a musical fair
I’m leaving the country, I hope they’re prepared
You only live once, that’s what they say
Don’t put off till tomorrow, what you can accomplish today

Thinking I’m clever, but it’s all by design
Life isn’t easy, but I’m used to the grind
Gotta take advantage, while I’m still in my prime
Seeking out truth in a kingdom of lies
Here I come, England, what a surprise!
I hope they are ready for what I provide
A British sense of humor with American pride

Multicolored ***** of air
Steady floating everywhere
Buoyant; seeing double
Life inside a bursting bubble
Clear reflective mirror image
Of a town, or a small village
Until it pops, oh, the joy
For every little girl and boy

Today’s world might seem bleak and grim
Without much color, decor, or trim
Yet there are things that still fill my heart to the brim
That nature provides seemingly on a whim
Like the birds, the trees, the fields of grass
And the mountains, sky, and their sheer mass
When the moments arrive and the moments pass
Stop for a second, because life goes fast
Smell the roses, count to 10
Then continue on, back again
Take a breath and take a bow
And live in the moment because the time is now

Taking a staircase
Head in the clouds
A day dream believer
With his feet off the ground
Into the uncharted
The air of mystery
Entering the pearly gates
With a skeleton key
Moving on forward
Never looking back
Expectations of grandeur
As I fade into black

Supple, moved by feel
Convoluted, enamored by your *** appeal
Difficult to look away
Try as though I may
Forbearing, I steal a second glance
Earn another chance
To ask you for this dance

Revealing your smooth curves
More than one deserves
I’ve inherited the earth

A kiss to the lips
Hands on hips
Tips and dips
Or passing ships?

Hair like golden fleece
Practice what is preached
Not by bounds, but leaps

It’s only contingent on whether we’re equally enamored
To be honest, I’d be quite flattered
But at the same time, empowered
And soon you’d be devoured
And undoubtedly deflowered
My lovely lady queen.

Triumphant
From the very start

With a single glimpse
Sleek constructure
Like a lynx
Cat run wild

I’ve misplaced all of my goodbyes
I’ve looked, but they’re all gone
Somewhere, they’re with my tears
In a sad sad song
About leaving and letting go
Things I’ve learned throughout the years
And I thought, that you should know
It’s just as it appears

She’s my American dream
Part of my team
Cunning and kind
The likes of which I’ve never seen
Playful and nice
Some sugar, some spice
She conquered her demons
Without thinking twice

I finally reached satori
Enlightened and aware
I had so many hurdles
Yet, still I climbed the stairs
On top of the mountains peak
Perfectly serene
Above the clouds
At one, at peace
In a living breathing dream

A quality quite rare
Every time I ask for you
You’re always never there
It’s a quaint conundrum
The details, I won’t spare
Searching for a diamond
To become a millionaire
To bring me some continuity
Over a period of time
And maybe wet my whistle
Sit back and unwind
But mostly I’d be giving
A fruitful debonair
In constant connection with the universe
Humble, with a flare
It may be a long shot
On this, I would agree
But then again
You don’t really understand
The person that is me

The rain had come and gone
The sun shone bright and proud
We all gazed at the spectacle
At the rainbow in the clouds
All the colors of the spectrum
The *** of gold a tease
Waiting on the other end
The end just past the trees

He raised his glass to toast
In order to brag and boast
A ceremony to celebrate
An accomplishment achieved
A reached goal; a milestone
The spoils well received
After the speech
There came a roar
A rather loud applause
Victory!, victory!
The essence of the cause

A winding path through forest trees
Tranquility;
And a summers breeze
A combination of all of these
Helps to put my mind at ease

Through the rustling of the fallen leaves
Rays of light and hot sunbeams
Approaching dusk on a summers eve
Helps me focus on achieving my dreams

Red sundown and silhouettes
Sliding down the mountains edge
A subtle breeze and string quartet’s
Heard while looking down a steep descent
Picture perfect; heaven sent
On snow covered hills

In the woods of dark mystique
Something thrives, some thing unique
Not a word must we speak
Or touch the ground beneath our feet

For tales are told of wicked spells
Ghosts, and trolls, and wishing wells
None to speak to or to tell
Of the forest bound for hell

The wick is lit
The flame grows higher
As my love for you
Burns with fire
Balled up in
A scorching blaze
It’s uncontrollable
Cannot be tamed
As the heat
Grows even higher
I am one
With my desire
My burning heart
Yearns for pain
Singed to ashes
In the burning flames

Bumblebees and dragonflies
Busy with their buzz
Suspended in the brisk winter air
As an insect does
Hovering in the garden
Airborne under trees
To say hello to their neighbors
Like the ticks and fleas

There are tales in mythology
Of horses adorned with wings
The true lords of the air took flight
Majestic were these steeds
Swift as a gale of wind
Unwearying of flight
The winged steeds sprung from Gorgon’s blood
Sweeping through the night
Their beauty was marveled by god’s
As well as man alike
Strong and brave were Pegasus
They feared not from a fight
In battle they would soar the sky
And reign down on their foes
Like the beast Chimaera
Or so the legend goes.

She dealt with her frustration
The abnegation of her pride
She never allowed herself to feel
What it felt to be alive
So she took the time to learn it
She sought out far and wide
The feeling that had eluded her
From where it was derived
She searched entire nations
She searched the country side
For all that she’d been missing
All she’d been deprived
How I love her deeply
Going to make her my
bride
She makes me feel sensations
In tune with my vibe
That’s why I’m in love with her
If I can’t have her I’ll die
Thank god she feels like I do
That’s why she’s now my wife
Don’t know what I’d do
If she weren’t in my life

Lending to my desires

Instead of doing chores

I hide beneath the trees, like it’s my own forbidden forest
I nestle under shade to cool my soul
I use rocks to hide my presence
In a mist like evanescence
Because the sun that’s beating down will take its toll
I hide away from others
I seclude to gain my peace
I find solace in the forest
Among the rocks and leaves
I justify my silence as I peer out from the hedge
I see a waterfall and I bathe at waters edge
I focus on my yin and yang
And I wallow with my spirit
And sometimes I scream out loud as hell, so everyone can hear it

The pages come alive
With knowledge to share
Mixtures and potions
Magic and flare
Recipes used
Elixirs and brews
Porridge and stews
Never refused
Not even by the gentleman
With fine leather shoes 👞
But as the legend grew
You already knew
Don’t be confused
It’s just what I do

‪For what I see with my two eyes‬

‪The brown bear and the hummingbird ‬
‪What a sight to see‬
‪The bear who loved his honey ‬
‪And the bird who flapped his wings ‬
‪The two you wouldn’t think would pair‬
‪But, yet, somehow they did‬
‪They gathered deep inside the woods‬
‪Where the flowers grew amid‬
A secret place of special sights
Where flowers bloom and the sun shines bright
It’s there the two would spend their days
And sleep well through the night

Everything comes full circle
Through the faces in the crowd
Often it’s no wonder
Why we can’t drown out the sound
People from all over
From every walk of life
Join as one, under the sun
And span the whole world wide

I still don’t have a love
A love to call my own
It’s hard to meet somebody
When you’re sitting home alone

If I could only venture out
Into the world unknown
Maybe I’d find someone
That my heart and mind condone

Life is trial and tribulations
Perseverance to behold
I’m not saying anything you don’t already know
But it still needs to be told

I’ve been stuck in hiding
Destructive to my soul
Afraid to go on living
The whole things overblown

With anxiety a plenty
Depression undertones
I closed myself off to the world
Waiting to explode

But life is kinda funny
There are no one way roads
There’s twists and turns
all along the way
And I’m not sure where they go

Life is after all a journey
We’re just skin and bones
The answers come in adventures
Just like Indiana Jones

So buckle up for impact
I’m headed on down the road
Expect the unexpected
When you’ve spun out of control

Life comes with experience
Not writing words in poems
It’s time I dusted off my old blue jeans
And put on some fresh clean clothes

It may go horribly wrong
I might get fully exposed
But giving up is no solution
If you weigh the cons and pros.

It’s time I faced the music
Stepped out from my safe zone
Engaged in life and spread the joy
Of a time I used to know

Bitter and alone
Tossed out in the cold
Angry for all the years of pain
This is not the life you chose
There’s no storybook ending’s coming
You’re too old for fairytales
To thine own self be true
Don’t get lost in the details
What doesn’t **** you, makes you stronger
So now; you’re tough as nails
Sad that it had to be this way
But death lies with the frail

We walked together side-by-side
My best friend and I
Down the road and up the hill
Past the prairies’ daffodils
To the nearest store in town
I broke a branch under my feet
And it never made a sound
If you lean on me, I’ll lean on you, so we’ll never hit the ground

I’ve written when I’m
angry.
When I was sad or I felt down
Rarely did I pick up a pen
When my life was running sound
When obstacles had been avoided
Or things had gone my way
When you didn’t hear me complaining
About my troubles every day
It’s a rare occurrence I’ve forgotten
It doesn’t happen all the time
When every sentence has an ending
And it fits in perfectly aligned
But today starts a new chapter
I’m happy and it shows
I have something to look forward to
And my confidence now grows
I see big things in my future
Something to start the flame
In a well set new environment
Where my aim is to reach for fame
Not to gloat or be braggadocious
But because my skill sets reached its peak
I’ve attained a whole new level
If maintained, one I can keep
And I can strive for greatness
Not stuck in remorse or self defeat
Because I’ve become a person that I’m proud of
Who I respect and hold in high esteem

Creepy is the cloak
Worn by fading lives
With words that go unspoken
They can never be denied
Writhed in fury of its circumstance

Traveling to a far off place
Overcoming both time and space
Warp speed voyage

Times of trouble
Toxic waste
Cover up
Our past disgrace
And right the wrongs
Remedy
Embrace

Echoes heard as I rest in bed
As sounds of nightmares dance ahead
Hello!?, hello!?
But no one hears
Just empty space
Between my ears
My greatest triumphs
My greatest fears
All washed away with salty tears

Nature in slow motion
A true spectacle to see
Where there’s pollinated flowers
And birds flapping their wings
With stirring gusts of wind
Through the stationary trees
And sweet love in the air
Not unlike the birds and bees
