Vast lush landscapes Dressed in smog Peaks and valleys Mist and fog Eerie silence Less the eagles cry In search of food From way up high The ***** is steep The trees are tall The risk is great But worth it all The river’s wet The sky is blue The mood is set The whole day through
The dew appears When flowers bloom As does the fragrance In a sweet perfume The stalk does rise The pedals grow Pink, red, green And yellow The falling leaves The wind that blows All in an attempt To expose The vibrant rage The outward glow In due time But taken slow
Resting on a country road Feet propped up in the air Enjoying every breeze gone by Without a single care Reclined in a relax mode Soaking it all in And just before the sun goes down You look at me and grin
On the long stairway to heaven There aren’t many things to see Clouds abundantly dispersed Hovering by your feet Walking into an empty sky Towards the glowing light Taking one step at a time Before taking flight
Stricken down, stripped, now bare Held unwillingly in a darkened lair Filled with crocodiles, and snakes that hiss Men with wants, they can’t resist It’s a shame, that they need to exist Left with only a wish to send a goodbye kiss
Fishing for some answers In a sea of broken ice Frozen for a moment But the moment’s kinda nice Catching every minute Paying every price Meticulous in nature Precisionally precise Painting every picture Without thinking twice You may never get the answer But always roll the dice
Throughout unchosen life Before we were pulled into the light Before the magic smiles And the thunder in the night Before arguments transpired And you took off into flight Before the cobra slithered And coiled up to bite That’s the final number Frozen without fight And then we come full circle With hopes to reunite
I stood and watched in disbelief I couldn’t help but stare The perfect image; specimen Completely naked; bare She was a stunning beauty With pouty lips and long blonde hair But alas I couldn’t have her No one said that life was fair
Picnic on the beach Settled in the sand To watch the morning sunrise Just as we had planned Coffee on the table Shade to keep us cool Blanket for us to lay on Not breaking any rules Peaceful by the ocean Despite the water and bird cries It’s something worthwhile to do Why not go give it a try
The glimmer in the water With its gold and shiny glare Is the jewel above the water Priceless beyond compare The ripples cast a shadow That sometimes dulls the shine Of the reflection in the water But that’s all well and fine
In the war against attrition My white flag’s being raised I’ve been worn down and battered I’ve been counting down the days To reach my pinnacle; my peak The elusive top But disaster’s always lurking And will never ever stop
Unlock the doors of perception Open up your minds eye Let imagination consume your thoughts And do, instead of try Take the leap The fall runs deep Further from the sky Feel release Say your peace Then wait for a reply When an echo’s heard Help spread the word May God be on your side Succeed or fail Won’t tip the scale Nor will it decide On your set course By means of force But I forget the reasons why Nonetheless We still progress As we take it all in stride
He was tempted and bold He couldn’t wait much longer Weary and cold Warmed by internal fires Spread throughout his aging body Extinguished by the chosen few Who could get close enough to touch the flames With nothing more to do Then to cover up the pain

Not much to decipher In this godforsaken place But the thought of ever leaving Leaves a bitter taste The land is on a reservation With spirits free to roam Which can be disturbing to some Yet, we still call it home
Children hanging, twirling, swinging Off the jungle gym Can’t see a reason not to Get to it on a whim Children jumping, laughing, singing Outdoors in the sun Enjoying healthy living Smiling, having fun
They reveled until daybreak They drank, and sang, and cheered They welcomed anyone to join Offering everyone a beer A smile that’s so inviting Completely, and utterly sincere May as well see what’s going on And gauge the atmosphere
I’m enamored with the starlight As a candles wick gets lit Casting off tall shadows On the walls near where I sit As I gaze up at the stars Not a one seems dim Just a multitude of sparkling dots That’s making the moon grin
