Silence among screams
Peace among turmoil
Love among anger
A world, twisting and turning
Contorting with pain
So alone yet so surrounded
A tear dropping
From divine emeralds
Splitting my heart like a knife
Jacobo Raymundo Jul 2013
The night’s grim demeanor
Destroys the serenity of the moon
Ravishes the sacred
Hearts of the unfortunate few
Who dare brave the soulless vacuum

Where ignoble hate
Defines one’s belonging
Siphoning life from
Those around their fancied niche
To fuel their self-righteousness

Some fall victim to
The unreasonable, harsh wrath
Of the wretched demons
Whose empty skeleton bodies
Are devoid of happiness

But here you yet stand,
Angelic guardian,
Protectorate of the lonely,
You stand pristine, unmarred
Your smile banishes the treachery

Your beautiful smile
Transforms any place to a home
Captivates my heart:
You complete the person I am
And I love you more each day
Just a cool little tanka series I put together as a gift. Sorry I haven't had a lot of time to write since I've started college

An overwhelming sensation crosses my heart
As if you are speaking to me
Yet your mouth remains still

But how do I hear you so clearly?
Jacobo Raymundo Jun 2013
Downtrodden by a burden that is:
          Irrevocable
       Unbearable
           Irreplaceable
Yet, I see no evil
I fear no evil
There is no evil

The holder of the burden is:
             Gorgeous
           Amazing
                Divine

There is no escaping the burden
The burden is a gift unto me
Which I cherish from you

Yet it seems to:
           Destroy
          Sadden
              Devour

All sense of safety set ablaze
Treachery in beauty
Disgust in anguish

The fear in your eyes
And your comfort in me
Your warm breath caressing the back of my neck
While I ponder the joy
Of having the fear change to pleasure
And the breath to the front of my neck
While we're alone in solace
You and me
Together as one
Jacobo Raymundo Nov 2013
Your ghost haunts me whilst I sleep
Dances in my head and leaves a cut
A cut so deep I have no choice but
To sit here in this abyss and weep

Have you no shame in my misery?
Do you not see my wishes to die
So I don't have to sit to your heart so nigh?
Please oh please my angel set me free

I wished for you heart and mine
To be one and one together forever
But I have found that it is to be never
That our paths should again entwine

But I keep up the fight
So that our hands may entangle
But it is leaving me strangled
And I'm ready to die tonight

Eyesight blurring as eyelids droop
The world is not intelligible to my sight
Yet I see an image clear as day
It is you, it is you again
I see your eyes peering back into mine
And I relive the days of past
Again and again and again and again
I miss you
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
Sinking deep beneath my flesh
Seeping your beauty into my soul
I can feel you beating with my heart
Welcome home sweet love
I've missed you here

Delicate rose petals drift aimlessly
Into a star soaked infinity
Jacobo Raymundo Sep 2013
A sight of such simplistic beauty strikes my eye
When I note the hour of the night grows thin
I feel her heart beating to mine so nigh
And I see passion written amongst her grin
Perhaps the words I wish to hear
Shall be spoken by her tongue
Breathing the words I long to fear
The sweetest song ever sung
Should my life be graced the chance
To hold her head so close to mine
Why it ought to be celebrated by dance
Have you ever held the Divine?
Perhaps this is a chance to take
For the wealth of your love to make

viewer discretion is advised. The following program has graphic images that may not be suitable for all audiences

The television stains my eyes
I can barely see myself in the mirror
While steady reporters shed not one tear
Don't you see the dead behind you?
Don't you feel the pain of their families
While you just "tell the story"?

27 dead, most of which young children, in a school shooting

The sickness creeps into my bones
Its impact rattles my spine
Debilitating me, confining me to a stupor
Why? Why?
Why end such bright futures and presents?
Do you not see the damage that you've done?
Do you not feel the blood pouring from
Your own body? Do you?

back to you, overpaid talking man*

A three minute blurb
That's it
Hundreds of people have been forever changed
Millions more afraid
And all you can do is harass them
Beg for interviews
While they still are in disbelief?
But beyond that
You show it over and over and over
All with the political lean
Of your respective stations
Could you not stop for once
And let mourners mourn?

Vastness
Myself and I
Wand'ring by our lonesome

Emptiness
Nothing in sight
An empty palette

Solace
The peaceful calm
Washing over my broken soul

Beauty
God's work of art
In Its simplest form

Lonely
I wander the seas
Searching for land to crash

Smoke settling upon a journal
Smoke settling upon a journal
Pages torn and covered in blood
Pages torn and covered in blood
Blood and smoke in a covered journal
Settling upon torn pages

Childish rhymes and playful secrets
Childish rhymes and playful secrets
Shattered with the rising sun
Shattered with the rising sun
The Shattered sun rising with
Childish secrets and playful rhymes

Resilience falls with the youthful soul
Resilience falls with the youthful soul
Mourning hearts fade into night
Mourning hearts fade into night
Youthful hearts fade into mourning
Night falls with the soul resilience

Resilience, in a shattered night
The sun rising upon the journal
Blood and smoke settling
Youthful, childish hearts fade with mourning
Playful soul covered with secrets
Falls into torn rhymes and pages

Babbling buffoons and quarreling quacks
Fill our sacred halls
Achieving nothing, pocketing revenue from failure

For whom do they stand, other than themselves?
Nobody, I have found
They walk like robots, programed to eat their young

Born under one flag, yet we die alone
We are America
Until we are in need, then we are one

*We are one
A short poem pointing at the failures of our politicians and we as Americans to pull ourselves out of this mess by our boot straps.
Jacobo Raymundo Mar 2013
I've thought many an hour
Of the perfect image of the one
I wish to join hands with
In matrimony

Perhaps my thoughts are blinded
By the brightness of your light
But who I wish to be with
Is a clone of you

But can one like you be cloned?
So perfectly amazing
Bringing awe to me
In new ways every day

Can someone else be bestowed the responsibility
To hold such beautiful grace
Such sweet thoughfulness
Such unprecedented beauty?

No, they cannot
Not because the human body is incapable
You clearly stand before me
With your gorgeous emeralds glowing

No, it isn't that
It's that you're so amazingly unique
You're so one of a kind
And I'll be ****** if I don't love you
*with every fiber of my being

The words I wish to express
Are right here, ready to flow
An impediment halts their delivery
Could it be the lonely lighthouse
That I wish to compare myself to
Is no longer to be lonely?
Is it that I can sense you warming once more?
I hope that is why I'm wordless tonight
Jacobo Raymundo Apr 2013
Disorder in my courtroom please! Will the defendant please take the stand at this time?

The walk of shame has started
The hour in which I must confess my crimes
Has arrived, driving me to the edge of sanity
As my throes meet public scrutiny

Did you or did you not love so hard your heart couldn't take it anymore?

Oh I did I did!
The poor critter couldn't even stand up!
I threw it around, ignored it
As I prayed hopelessly for her sweet love

For what purpose did you do this mister?

Don't glare at me so sternly you heathens!
Have you not been in my shoes?
Have you never seen the eyes of a goddess
Which bewitch you, steal your soul
And chain it around her pretty fingers?

Answer the questuon

Oh the purpose is so unknown to me
Who would knowingly set their face ablaze?
Her pretty head begged for my shoulders
And I was there when nobody else was
And I love her, I love her so

oh so you say you love her now? Do you understand the consequences of that?

My question is do you?
Do you ever stare upon a starry night
And pray for clouds because
Her face is a constellation?
Do you ever see the moon and lose yourself
Because somewhere in this world she may be too?
Have you ever poured rivers from your eyes
Just to smile when she is near?
Don't you see
There is nothing equivalent to her
It's a shame you can't see my heart
Slowly bleeding out
Shriveling, withering
As I watch her walk away

Simply my question is this, would you die for her

Death could never be so sweet your honor

I sentence you to hanging immediately you scoundrel!*

With my last escaping breath,
I see your eyes meet mine
One final time
My mouth moves
But no sound comes out
An you heard me so clearly
I loved you until now
And I'll love you forever
This is the price I pay
But I still love you
Yes I do
Jacobo Raymundo May 2013
Oh majestic one
Why rise in your own court?
You dictate the lives below you
But you're light years away
Oh majestic sunrise

— The End —
