Haunted
Isobel G Nov 2011
Fingerprints on my skin,
Smudged, blue, black,
Shadows in my irises,
Dancing on my lids,
Webs between my fingers,
All tangled with dust,
Rust decomposing on my lips,
Sleeping on bitter veins,
I'm haunted

It's Not Enough
Isobel G Nov 2011
Isn't it enough,
To break me once, twice,
What more can I offer,
Now you've left me empty,

Isn't it enough,
For me to try my best,
How much more can I take,
Before I'm off the edge,

It's not enough,
Pretending there's a reason,
How many more nights,
Can I sleep with a ghost

Waterfall
Isobel G Nov 2011
With vehement force,
The white, weighty water,
Races between my thighs,
Grazing my fingertips,
Crashing into the wasted bank,
And splintered stone,
Scattered about the course,
Surging towards the fringe,
Of the river road,
My toes curl,
Latched to the rock-ridden surface,
Fighting the undertow,
As the water plunges,
Down the waterfall

Have You Ever Tasted Fire
Isobel G Oct 2011
Have you ever tasted fire,
It's consuming your mind,
Burning holes through your soul,
Smoking and smoldering,
Blackening your eyes,
'Til you drown in the ebony dust

Monster and Man
Isobel G Oct 2011
There's something sinister,
Behind those eyes,
Lurking, waiting, preying,
Dancing between the whites,
And the lines,
Glowing with a passion,
That could only be fueled,
By your taste for vengeance,
A parasitic blend,
Of monster and man

Shower Smoke
Isobel G Oct 2011
Beneath fluorescents,
And shower smoke,
In the parting of the steam,
I'm six feet under,
Dripping, soaking,
Bent into my own shadow

Shiver
Isobel G Oct 2011
Amidst the grains,
Of dead yellow-grey,
Soaked in ocean water,
Salt stains on my blue lips,
I shiver,
Calling out,
For that honey-washed sun,
To blind me from the scars

Still The Same
Isobel G Oct 2011
Tell me,
Do I smell of poison,
You never minded before,
I guess I took it too far,
The taste is too much now,
You always liked that,
I never thought you'd change,
Just notice for once,
I'm still the same

Warning Signs
Isobel G Oct 2011
Are you sleeping,
Under that black cloud,
When you know I'm still awake,

Can't you taste it,
That scarlet rust,
Snaking through our fingers,

Open your eyes,
You'll miss me,
If you're not careful

When No-one's Home
Isobel G Oct 2011
I talk to him sometimes,
When no-one's home,
I tried today
I pretend to hear him,
In my footfall,
It was almost too hard
He's there,
The moon on my sheets,
But you wanted me to try
I can't help crying sometimes,
When I imagine him breathing,
Do you think about it?
I remember that feeling,
Of weight on my shoulders,
When I'm alone
I fall into the cold,
Like a makeshift embrace,
*Do you wish you could stop me?

July '09
Isobel G Oct 2011
Dive in,
Two years back,
Into your winter,
My world,
Was hot and blue,
In that July,
These waves taste colder,
Than those green tunnels,
Where I first fell,
You didn't know me then,
I laughed more then,

I met him in the corner,
Of the windy house,
Standing on the cobbles in the dust,
His back against the paper walls,
The keys in his fingers,
Leading me out the door,

He waited in the ocean,
Giving me that crooked smile,
As the pier left my feet,
Eyes all black,
Through that smokey water,
Circles and circles,
He circles me,
With shark eyes,

He hunted me,
Through that dim brick maze,
Pulling me closer,
Pushing me further,
Into those rusted iron walls,
Until I gave in,

He was covered in rain,
On that empty balcony,
Everyone looking in,
From the fog windows,
Whilst he told me goodbye,
Walk back up the shore,
Two years past,
From July '09

Beneath You
Isobel G Oct 2011
I wonder how I feel,
Within those hands,
Am I as cold,
As I remember feeling,

Do the scars,
Hollow your fingertips,
As they trace,
The rips clawed into my flesh,

I wonder how I feel,
When I'm beneath you,
Am I bones and blood,
Under the webs,

Do the tears match,
The texture of my veins,
As your nails chase,
That hollow pulse

Fallen
Isobel G Oct 2011
If I could take you,
To the river of sinners,
I would show you,
The depths of my hell,
We would drink,
The black liquid-crystal,
And you would taste,
The acid of this thirst,
I could show you,
My mortal struggle,
Written over the planes,
Of my wrist,
And you would finally see,
That I have fallen.

*I could never take you there

I've Lost It
Isobel G Oct 2011
I've lost it,
That light shining,
Between our fingers,
It flickers,
From dim to bright,
On to off,
I'm losing it,
The words,
Paving my way,
Into the darkness of your mind,
Into the midst of another's sorrow

Deception
Isobel G Oct 2011
No place is there,
For you,

No place is there,
In the light,

No place is there,

In the blood walls of compassion,

No place is there,
For Deception

She Used To Be
Isobel G Oct 2011
She liked to run once,
And smile,
Laugh,
'Til tears fell from her eyes,

She used to sing,
And scream,
From the top of her lungs,
Just for the fun of it,

She was smaller then,
Small enough to fall,
Through the cracks,
To fit the spaces,

She used to feel it,
The happiness,
When she looked to the sky,
Spread beneath her feet,

Her eyes were warm once,
Liquid and soft,
Full of life,
Hopeful and young,

She used to be perfect,
But perfect's never real enough,
To last

It was you

I'm Alone
Isobel G Oct 2011
I'm standing,
On my own now,
In the rain now,

It's been a long time,
Since I saw you,
Since we last spoke,

And now I need to know,
Where you are,
Where you were,

You promised to hold me,
When they lost me,
When they found me,

You made your vow,
To close my eyes,
To guide me home,

But I'm alone now,
I'm alone.

You
Isobel G Oct 2011
You
The sugar-sweet taste,
Of rain,
Secrets unconcealed,
On dripping lips,
With an appetite,
Gentleness,
Lightness of touch,
Thawing, melting,
My snow,
Cotton-candy,
Feather hues,
Deep, rich blue*

Perfect things, perfect words.
Reality or imagination,
I don't care.

Be My Summer
Isobel G Oct 2011
Be my summer,
Melt the frost,
Of a thousand years,

Be my summer,
Sweet and gentle,
As honey on my lips,

Be my summer,
Ease the sting of the bee,
Placed carefully on my heart,

Be my summer,
Dry the torrential rains,
Ever-flowing from my eyes,

Be my summer,
Soft as the haze,
Of a clear blue horizon,

Be my summer,
Cast your bright rays,
Upon me
