You chase the ghosts of your lover’s touch
In
Every
Body.
A warming distraction for an occupied mind.
A plastic heart with a plastered smile
That won’t reach your eyes.
A loveless limerence;
Longing lies laid bare before your lips.
With sudden haste, the butterflies
Withered and died.
You gnarled my soul, yet it remains mine
While you seek your next corpse
And I revive.

Don’t ask,

I am mere
Shores
to crashing
Waves of
Thoughts
The tides
Without its moon
Directionless
And
Devastating
I know best
How I tire
Of its
Consuming
Force
Yet I swim
To drown
or
To float.

What brings lips to lips
Like bees to flowers?
Magnetism invisible and
Mysterious
Yet invincible and
Incredulous.
Will I be but another
Worker for the
Hive
Or the honey that
Drips pools
In your
Eyes?
