in this part of Oz
there is an ancient spinster
who pines for love

"Why are you wearing shorts? It's cold out!"

Why?

I enjoy the way the chilled wind feels --
it makes me feel alive.
The way the goosebumps raise on my pale legs reminds me that I'm human...
Sometimes I just need a reminder.
nothing much. just an articulate answer to a pointless question.

The Butterfly
It started off so very romantic
but like a sad story it's becoming tragic.
Turning the love that was made
into *** that will fade.
You're being pushed away
but what's really being tested is if you will stay.
Head keeps spinning all the day long
and I can't seem to stop singing this song
Choices are made day after day
will you dance or walk away?
Please don't walk away...

We don't
                         always
                                             fit perfectly
                                                                        together,
but at
                 least
                               we can
                                                 always
make
                 it
                             work.

some of the “greats” are walking among us
making eye contact upon our sidewalks
sharing sweaty seats on our buses
eating tempeh and salad at our cafés
lying next to us, sleeping, in our beds
we shop at their record stores
throw dollars in their guitar cases
curse their driving on our freeways
art and history are presently in motion
the past is just the place where we idealize them

Pushing Daisies
"Keep running"
He whispers,
Clinging to her,
fragile bones.

"Keep running"
He mocks her,
Footsteps echo,
Kicking stones.

"Keep running"
He chokes her,
His voice screams,
her heart moans.

"You know you'll never catch me,
But run my darling,
Run"
