They babble of shine
long lifed friendship
sharing shakes and
fries
But one mention of tires
and the babble
dries up and
dies

These bristles twinge my hide,
For a second I worry of looking a poor shave.
I chuckle;
No one to impress now, silly.

I look down,
For a second I worry of looking a poor dress.
I chuckle;
Chairs aren't meant for standing,

                                                                                                       I'll fix that,  love.
It's just dawned on me:
all these houses are too close together
and all these rooms are full.
I have nowhere that I can scream to myself
without somebody close by knowing
that I'm not okay.

Being walkers with the dawn and morning,
Walkers with the sun and morning,
We are not afraid of night,
Nor days of gloom,
Nor darkness--
Being walkers with the sun and morning.

I know that you don’t feel for me
The way I feel for you.
We’re good friends, I value that,
There’s nothing you need do.

But as a friend I need to tell you
What is in my heart.
An unsaid truth is like a wall,
Keeping us apart.

My love for you will go nowhere,
It will just remain with me.
I’ll hold it in my quiet arms
And feel it constantly.
