Cascade me in your rhyming words
Hypnotize my conscious mind
A poet's words strike me
Until I am nothing but blind

All I see is what they say
What they want to capture with this one piece of art
My poet, take me away
My poet, build me a new heart

The sheets on my bed
Like long arms, envelop me
Strangling me to stay
Well, at least I feel something

Can I close my eyes
And hope that I wake up elsewhere
Where the rain shines on the other side of the Earth
Is there someone to help me somewhere?

Can I trust my nightmares
Will be better than reality
Or is this as good as it gets?

I think that's why I believe in God and in heaven
There must be some other land than distress.

The carpenter builds
Spilled blood on a board
And under his nails
Smashed black and blue
Indigo on a page
Words sharp like a saw
Cut to the bone
Twice measured then honed
On the streets
Alive with a beat
A rhythm and rhyme
He's counting time
With a rat-tat-tat
One nail at a time
Straight is his line
He drives it on home.

I gave you my heart
When it was time for you to give me yours
I found your rib cage empty
Being with you is like writing a novel
You know were you want to go with it
But you end up having writers block
I've been writing about love a lot which is not like me.Well what do you know I am going insane
