I once held hands with a stranger.

I'm not sure if I've ever felt closer
To another human being.

It was innocence.

It was beautiful.

It was a surprise.

The best way to prepare a man for life,
Is to deny him all love and acceptance.

Only then, will he spend every waking moment,
Asking why.

I can remember so much.
Why do I feel like I missed it all.

Love is asylum.
Friendship is courage.
Money is sanctuary.
Faith is dependence.
Conviction is hope.
Music is magic.

What has life taught me?

To eat my vegetables.
To kiss like I'm eating an ice cream cone.
To make others laugh.

Snort.

I hate the first few minutes of waking up.
It feels like I've been tricked.
Conned.
Duped.
My escape thwarted.

Careful when you find a friend.
It's the most precious thing you will ever discover.
