Lost at Sea

I have been aboard this vessel for
Fifty months
Nine days
Ten hours
And some value of minutes
Which is unknown to me.
I am
Lost
At
sea.
For a while it was bearable.
I have enough water,
Books,
And *** to sustain me.
But now all I wish is to see a pair of sails
On the horizon.

I have nothing left
But to wander the seas
And find whatever is there
For me.

Days pass.
I have sympathized with the stars;
For it seems to me that they are also
Sailors
Lost at sea;
Traveling towards their own fate
In directions
Unbeknownst to me.

At night I look up
When the sky is clear
And greet them,
I wish them strong winds.
I wonder if they have looked down on me.
I have confessed all my sins to them
For they are all I have.

The stars and I.

And we sail the same sea
But we will never meet
For we are infinitely far.
This is our curse.

At times I have fallen asleep on deck
Beneath them
In my hammock
As the sea
Rocks me
And sings songs,
Songs of ports and
Sails
On horizons.

It was on the morning following such a night
That I arose
And at long last
Saw
With my own eyes
A sail in the distance
And I maneuvered so fast as my small craft would allow
To be near to him
And as I came closer
I looked with my dusty spyglass
And my heart dropped from my chest
For he flew a black flag
Which bore upon it a skull.
I am writing this now as they approach
For I know I cannot evade them
Nor outgun them.
I am writing this because I now know my fate:
To die by their hands.

I am horrified,
But there is
One thing that will give me peace:
That I may
Finally
Sail
Among the stars.

There is a fish
Waiting to swim
I am a little *****
Faking my way in
Trying to stay where I don’t belong

And you know,
Fish that don’t swim
Will surely end up
Dead and in vain
At the bottom of the food chain.

she used to have this way about her
a magical capability to hide her deepest secrets in the center of her sentences
leaving you unsure if that's how she really meant it
          yet somehow certain
that you walked away from said verbal exchange
with far more than she would ever know
that she was capable of giving away

i want to douse you in the muddy water
of the balckfork's patient trickle
     at the crest of spring
and baptise you as mine to keep

my own semi-precious stone to bring to the table

let me carry you around in my pocket
like a bottle cap
from the last bar you sat at
while you were day-dreaming of me

some treasures are far too great
to try to hide from the world outside

          and more often than not
     a good bargain
isn't what we bargained for
Poet of Nature, thou hast wept to know
That things depart which never may return:
Childhood and youth, friendship and love’s first glow,
Have fled like sweet dreams, leaving thee to mourn.
These common woes I feel. One loss is mine
Which thou too feel’st, yet I alone deplore.
Thou wert as a lone star, whose light did shine
On some frail bark in winter’s midnight roar:
Thou hast like to a rock-built refuge stood
Above the blind and battling multitude:
In honored poverty thy voice did weave
Songs consecrate to truth and liberty,—
Deserting these, thou leavest me to grieve,
Thus having been, that thou shouldst cease to be.

Into material I was ******
From divinity to disgust
I'm told to live through it's a must
The fear, the loathing, and the lust
Never knowing who to trust
Sometimes I want to bleed the rust
And disintegrate myself to dust

But god forbid I spill the real
Because we're told it's weak to feel
Just lock it all inside and seal
Can't penetrate a wall of steel
What's left of us is empty shells
We're perpetrating our own hell
In this place we're forced to dwell

Now real's mistaken for a trend
Enemies are confused with friends
This mass distortion never ends
I don't claim I'm free from guilt
I'm trying to wash away the filth

Including former friends and lovers
They end up showing their true colors
I'm made to duck and run for cover
Hide myself but see through others

You can look now, you can't touch
I've been brought down way too much
I've been sinking far too long
But now I'm rising, now I'm strong
Up above where I belong

What was once lost now was found
It's all in who I keep around
So keep your self worth on the ground
But I won't be coming down
Normally I would just type this out like a paragraph, and I honestly like it better that way. I just thought I'd try conforming to format, and see how the reception goes.
