Be gracious in defeat
It is not a terminus
But a stepping stone to greatness
Put the blame on you
That's what great minds do

If you want to be a champ
Be humble, embrace pitfalls
One day, just one day
You'll become an aficionado
Then you'll tell your story

Only few punches left
Don't throw in the towel yet
The world awaits your manifestation
Look into the mirror and say
I believe, so I'll become

When the atmosphere is tight
With the right amount of hormonal rush
What else are you waiting for?
But wait, stop, think
Is the juice worth the squeeze?

With incesssant romantic calls
Flirty chats and video calls
You laid your foundation
Weldone, sharp shooter
She lost all, right in your arms
You put it, and removed it

You failed to exercise caution
Yes, it was just a fling
But you already opened the bonnet
Now you say, you're innocent
Congrats Bro., welcome to fatherhood

A Poem: Naija To The World

Naija to the world!
It is for a good reason
You were born Nigerian
Raised as a Nigerian
With a Nigerian dream

If you aren't proud of your identify
People, culture and heritage
Others are, even for her complexities
Uniqueness and the never say die spirit
If you doubt, ask Tyson Fury

A giant in Africa
The most populous black nation
Not in Africa, but the world
A people of great mind and intellect
Witty, strong and determined

Yes, we have image problems
Four percent of us holds a PH.d in the United States
While seventeen percent holds a Masters
We are the most educated ethnic group in the United States
Google is your friend

Some of our products, Afrobeats
Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Chimamanda Adichie
Anthony Joshua, Kanu Nwankwo, Chioma Ajunwa
Philip Emeagwali, Silas Adekunle and Col. Oviemo Ovadje
And of course, Babatunde Raimi

If they ask you of my identity
Tell them I am a proud Naijaboy
Ready to take my world by storm
To rebrand my great Nation, Nigeria
A country, so blessed, yet poor; but proud

Be tenacious like the Gipsy King Fury
Believe in you right like Wilder
Duck and weave like Joshua
Wisdom is greater than strenght
Also, know when you're spent like the Klitschkos

Life is like a boxing ring
Who ever believed Ruiz would outclass AJ
Life will.always favour the prepared
He took his shot and overcame
Until you win, try again like Joshua

East or west, north or south
A golden fish has no hiding place
Starve your fears and feed your courage
That's the mindset of champs
And don't stop till you win

The Gipsy King was written off
He had succumbed to vices
Fell for the trappings of fame
But he came back strong
Let that thing go, before it downs you

Dear Friend,
The world is your stage
When you land those killer punches
You'll see nothing at the other side of fear
But success laced with joys

Above all, strive to leave legacies
Muhamed Ali is still the greatest
With his name in our history books
This legend will never be forgotten
When will your name become a brand?

Let me tell you about him
They call him "Iron Mike Tyson"
He still holds the bragging rights
The youngest heavyweight to date
He was a Gladiator

Like a Boy Scout, be prepared
Life will throw at you heavy punches
Pay the price for the prize
So you don't die a non-entity
Leave a mark

Never forget all your pitfalls
You'll need them to tell your story
When your glory shines
For you, failure is not an option
Friend, do you copy?

Shadow box with the best
They will show you your flaws
And show you the pathway
That leads to a glorious tomorrow

Don't say I didn't warn you
May this stand as a testament
Between you and I
That I tried to bring out your best
Stay positive!

Local man
Stay connected to your roots
Long after everything fails
Long after London bridge falls
There will be no place like home

Forget the myriad of challenges
Our problems are amplified
Far above our wins and discoveries
If you loose touch with home
You are already lost

Local man
Stay connected to your home
Wave the flag and raise it high
Our uniqueness is our identity
If you must tell a story
Tell them about your root

I have travelled across oceans
Even when they tried to brainwash me
Something in my yearns for home
Stay connected to your ancestors
That you may enjoy their goodwill

If you must my friend
Be patriotic from the distance
But whatever happens, please
Never forget your home
Only a foolish child
Points to his father's compound with a left

Every country with unique problems
We are not unaware of ours
But the rope that binds us is strong
Be part of the new generation
That is changing the narratives in your root
Because there will always be a place for you at home

No matter where the wind blows
I will always return home
The music, dance, food and life
Why play slave in another's country
When you have a palace in your root?

Before a Lion King wanders inwards
Travelling miles to find a game
That he may feed his clan
With ***** he marks his territory
And returns home with his spoils

With muscular legs and talons
A perfect beak for tearing preys apart
She descends far from the skies
Gliding against storms with swagger
Then she returns home, you too should

If everything were perfect
Migration will be needless
If you had everything you desired
You can be tempted to play God
Developed countries cannot claim perfection
Come, let's build our home together

With outstretched hands
And glamorous red carpet reception
Let us welcome our illustrious sons and daughters
But then, there is work to do
Together, let us make home worth living

Exercise like Billy Blanks
Then punch it like Anthony Joshua
Meander like Lionel Messi
Drive it like Chrisriano Ronaldo
Play around like Neymar da Silver Santos
Swim a d swim like Michael Phelps
Whatever you do?
Never loose your mojo like Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Eyes on the ball like Serena Williams
Hit it hard like Rafael Nadal
Or do you prefer Tiger woods?
Until you hear her sing like Beyonce Giselle Knowles
Twerk like Cardi B
Don't stop cruising like Michael Shumacher
Except you are in a hurry to meet your ancestors
No need for aphrodisiacs
When you have natural smoothies
Above is how to keep her
Repeat these lines over again
And she'll love you forever

I raved in agony
Unseen forces beckoning
They called my names in discordant tunes
They would not let me be
The call of my ancestors

Beckoning on me to come home
A place in the other side of life
Reluctant and sturbborn my spirit was
My time is not now I shouted
Not ready to cross the great divide

Drawn in a thin line
I only could see their faces
My only strength was hope
And that was just enough
I was this close, yet I live
