Peering out into the bleak, dreary abyss
There slouched a misleading lit house
Pretending to be full of life; it was not

Emptiness was embedded in the tangled ebony branches, it hung like dead weight on the ancient tree that stretched out beside the lying house

If only they knew
That the girl that makes them laugh
Cries herself to sleep
Every.  Single.  Night

If only they knew
Within those quick words
Is a cry for help
But it seems like everyone is deaf or just plain oblivious

It turns out silence can hurt you more than any ill intended words

I've watched this story line play out too many times
You give and give and give
They steal your heart, they vandalize it
You become like an abandoned building, eagerly waiting for someone to fix you up
He may be different, I hope he is different from the other thieves
Just please be careful

Low self esteem radiated off of her
She hoped it would get lost within her mature perfume

I'm seeking answers to questions that will never be asked
(Eternally roaming the capacity of my mind)
I'm rummaging through the past frantically hoping to find some overlooked clue
(Perhaps it's hidden between the pauses of words)

When was the point in fragile time you decided to stop
stop talking to me

I take sweet words and tape them upon my mirror
They never seem to stick

I wish I had eyes like the ones they describe in books. You know the kind that are all like her eyes were bold emeralds with light piercing through them or his eyes were a delicate mixture of softness, mystery and a hazy blue.

I want love but not theirs- 
Fights on the phone for the audience of empty kitchen chairs
