Performance assurance,
it's not on my mind.
But a next-morning
pillow, complacent with time,
or the wedding to party to funeral line,
and the "Sorry's" and "Thank You's" and
half empty sighs.

Not a fan of commitment,
but just love is just fine,
not the money or muscles,
for which you will pine,
when I'm grumpy and bitter and old, and confined
to the frame of a man who was once so sublime.

how does autumn feel,
you asked.

it feels lonely here.

crisp
and yet
                 the air is

                          suffocating
                                            me.

bright
invigorating
fresh

and yet all the cracks are visible

                       glaring
                                at me.

i don't want to talk to you.

( To the tune of Jailhouse Rock )

Party night came to the hp site
Singing and dancing till late at night
Friends dropping by said count us in
Man you shoulda seen them poets swing
     Let's rock
     Everybody let's rock
They all got together in a flock
     Rockin at the hp hop
Well I didn't know you played the saxophone
Frank Zappa Davis on the slide trombone
Along came Embers with a whole brass band
Man that thing was getting out of hand
       Let's rock
       Everybody let's rock
We were rockin and we couldn't stop
        Boppin at the hp hop
Music getting louder as the night wore on
Hands clap feet tap sing that song
Grab hold o' somethin just to play a tune
If you don't play the piano play the wooden spoon
          Let's rock
          Everybody let's rock
We were givin it all we'd got
          Boppin at the hp hop
Someone made a speech, said we're all friends here
We all shed a happy little single tear
Then she said oh for goodness sakes
I love everybody in the whole **** place
            Let's rock
            Everybody let's rock
Keep it up y'all don't stop
            Boppin at the hp hop

Your love is poison,
******* me in,
I hate you but you keep contacting me,
my life was going alright,
until you turned it upside down again,
I hate your guts,
but deep down I remember the fun we once had.

Angel

Do you remember the angel? The one that held you when your mother died. The one that caught every tear or at least tried. The one that caught the names that were thrown at you like bullets straight to the heart. Do you remember her, or did you tear her apart?

You
You are a poem inside my head, just waiting to be written. Full of memories and emotions that are indescribable. We dance and we become one body. We need each other to stay alive and move to the rhythm of our heart beats as they get faster. We breathe each other in and it is like that is all we need for that one moment. That one breath lets us know that we are still there beside each other, and we both know that we will never leave. If we do we always come back.

Each petal born is an eternal wound. No scars form on this heart for this heart is already at full bloom. So many petals fill my chest and I breathe in their scent. I need to find someone who can rip away the petals like I would in a game of "He loves me, He loves me not." Until a heart is revealed. And pray to God it is still beating once you are done.

Life

There is no meaning in life,
For whenever I try to find out I only get into strife,
Life isn't an easy task,
But rather one we don't need to ask,
Life is something we need to cherish,
Have joy within, love or relish,
For we'll never know when that day will come,
When all all our breath is gone but one,
No one knows what the next day will hold,
It could be anything for the young or the old,
Life doesn't last,
It just goes too fast,
So when you're at assembly please don't fiddle,
But when you see a daffodil,
Sit there and cherish it,
For next year it may be in a pit,
Winter is coming so it won't last,
And don't bother checking the forecast,
It's going to be snowing all winter,
You are going to be inside and get one hell of a splinter,
But don't worry just go to the doctor,
And seek his advice,
about daffodil mice.
i wrote this because i was bored and felt like doing something.
the ending gets a bit random though.

Fulfilment

How many millions have you got
I expect you lost count
It's a hellava lot
Not forgetting the splendid yacht

An artist scans a landscape
A comic distills a joke
A shopper looks for a parking space
An addict drags on a smoke

I do what I want one thing at a time
Cumulus nimbus are flying high
Follow my nose with a healthy dose
Of common sense and instinct combined

A vicar rehearses a favourite prayer
A sailor waits on a breeze
A writer sees a story there
A woodsman searches the trees

A rich man still believes he is poor
A lost and lonely is thinking if only
Patting the chair and tapping the floor

We all go chasing a bit of fun
Fulfilment comes in different ways
Like writing a poem every day
