Delight’s Despair at setting
Is that Delight is less
Than the sufficing Longing
That so impoverish.

Enchantment’s Perihelion
Mistaken oft has been
For the Authentic orbit
Of its Anterior Sun.

we can hardly remember what we never experienced
(can we?)

"love?
what's that?"

the question we cannot bear to face

for we were never really loved

----

we can pretend
and so we do

for we cannot bear to face
that we

were never loved

and are not loved now

-----

there can be no love without compassion

and we are not compassionate

for

we dont know who WE are!

---------

no-one is WHO they pretend to be

(this we all know)

it is something that we cannot bear to face

---

we can do only one thing

shall we do it?

shall you do it with me?
I met a genius on the train
today
about 6 years old,
he sat beside me
and as the train
ran down along the coast
we came to the ocean
and then he looked at me
and said,
it's not pretty.

it was the first time I'd
realized
that.

I love to walk the fields at dawn,
barefoot through the dew.
To sit and watch the rising sun
turn the dark sky blue.

Some days are bright with promise,
like a budding tree.
Some are dark and blow right by
like an autumn leaf.

Each day is a gift we’re given,
fragile, like fine glass.
Ours to mold and try to hold
before it hurries past.

Talk with prudence to a Beggar
Of “Potose,” and the mines!
Reverently, to the Hungry
Of your viands, and your wines!

Cautious, hint to any Captive
You have passed enfranchised feet!
Anecdotes of air in Dungeons
Have sometimes proved deadly sweet!

I could die—to know—
’Tis a trifling knowledge—
News-Boys salute the Door—
Carts—joggle by—
Morning’s bold face—stares in the window—
Were but mine—the Charter of the least Fly—

Houses hunch the House
With their Brick Shoulders—
Coals—from a Rolling Load—rattle—how—near—
To the very Square—His foot is passing—
Possibly, this moment—
While I—dream—Here—
