Each self
is a cell

The collective
the most odious silent thief

Cliches we all are
but most don't know by far

Don't count me a friend
unless you are willing
to walk with me to the very end

Rhetoric
a word pugnacious
too often ends
in being a brittle stick.

It does seem
so very easy
try it and
come back to me!

I don't want
to be wise
I well know
it would agonise

Failure is a friend
it leads to the road
where it will end

Those who score
worry the more

But for the joy
of nonsense
how would life
make sense?

Be quiet
people are not keen
to hear about
your love unrequited

Hatred is not always bad
it's not only in revenging
but more in cleansing

Dreaming
is the other side
of the self
that needs fulfilling

Longing
tends to be long
over-indulged
does the loved one wrong

I should not try
your beauty to describe
only that I should
open my heart to imbibe

To have essence
I have to learn
to give up my ***-sense

I am my own conspirator-
none other

If life is the lock
   I must be the key
   I'd know how to unlock
   and claim superiority.

I thought I knew something today
       it was but my ignorance in display

Familiarity is hazardous
       too much one gives away
       self counts for less
       it does seldom pay

Looking through too many angles
      many fail to see the light
      those who narrow their perch
      have found their direction right

Love
  travels in a curve

The pseudo is admired
    the  genuine is disregarded

Life is but expression
not manifestation

Our heart is not our own
but the depository
of the hearts of those
who have touched us--so many.

Life is made up
of assimilation, imitation,
adaptation, rumination
and above all--imagination

So much time we do spend
the truth of others to discover
when we should instead turn
to ourselves--the heart of the matter.

Has anyone
seen a fairy
or heard a mermaid
singing from the sea?

If you believe so
it would also be me.

If you say love has wings
I'll leap to the air with credulity
I have your assurance I won't fall
if I do,  you would be there to catch me.

There is no commonality
only distrust, bad-will and envy.

My dark side
     you couldn't see
     don't go around saying
     you know me.

Count not the years
      but what you are
      how does it add up
      what could you declare?

You are hardly admired
      for your ambition
      only if you have compassion.

I went, I saw
then I left
nothing over there
I returned bereft.

Forget
    the winning
    or losing--get set
    to embrace living!

Life is simply
the yes or no
the perennial angst
wherever you go.

Too much thinking
    inevitably leads to brooding

Living within
  or without
  there's no escaping
  the nagging doubt

Both remembering
and forgetting
a problem constitute
a nuisance to living!

Life
is a narrative
what parts of you
should you forgive?

Is life then
but a needed purge
after  the deluge
of a thwarted urge?

Why did I permit
my love to perch
on a brittle branch
about to snap, left in the lurch?

I am to blame, none else
it had always been me I encourage
an impossible dream to chase
in impatience, more often in rage.

The long past has slipped
away in painful memory--age
has spoken and farewelled has youth
it's true--love is false and a cruel *******.

Feelings belong
to the heart
but their tinge
is reflected
in the eyes
and persona
unintended
off-guard

to ourselves
we could lie
our secrets
we could hide

somehow
we give away
in some part
we could
if we choose
to pretend
but aren't that smart

does she fancy me
do I imagine
or am deluded?
what's in her heart?

quietly she stands
a few yards away
not a single word
she does say

a message
she does relay
her feelings
she lets loose
from her demeanour
to me she's pleading:
stay, please stay
don't walk away.

I write
but is it right?

To be remembered?
a thought so absurd!

My life-script:
walk well, don't trip.

Knowing what
not to long
for, makes me strong

To love
   is to understand
   it never wavers
  always at hand

Not a rebel
nor one
to cause trouble
or leave others undone
