Dear Marietta,
Such a poignant and touching piece of lyrical prose which sings like a lied from Schubert's WINTERREISE--he is my favourite composer as he was humble, generous in spirit, full of joie de vivre despite his poverty and illness, had a good heart and overcame his suffering from the effusion of his music...
Relationship is a garden.......    that part is magnificent!

There's a book I read many years ago titled **Philosophy in the Garden? The word itself evokes warm feelings, tenderness, sunshine, calm and restfulness-a perfect place for contemplation and drawing inspiration. Reading in a garden is an endless delight in spring and autumn though I don't do much in this regard.

We keeps a small garden but it is beautiful with several varieties of flowers, some plants and some fruit trees--birds often come by to steal the ripening fruits.My study is to the right of the garden and it's very relaxing to look through the window to see what it offers at each moment. As I write now, there's a white and blue sky in the near horizon---birds are often seen drifting through the air. Spring ends in Australia at the end of this month.

Everyone has some form of weakness
though they would not  ever admit
such from others they seek to hide
to demonstrate they are strong and fit

It is strength--being in doubt
I will not be thrown about!

In my youth, I accepted all things
in middle-age, I adapted to all things;
in my old age, I doubted all things

The land does not forget
as your footsteps have left
an imprint-  in depth-- it knew you
from the start--through its cleft

despite the seasons and ravage
of time-- how painstakingly it has delved
into your essential being and recorded
all that you have experienced and felt.

We are all sellers*
      and buyers#
     in terms figurative
     there's no other way to live

From your self
         of yesterday
         take leave--go somewhere
         you could see life in a new way

It's hard for me to define
      that wisdom is not mine

The real me
     I'll wait to see

Someone you will remember
        by their voice, though long over

It's not necessary to be clever
        if somehow you can do a job better

There or here
           my heart I should hear

Trust
to what extent I must?

Men man-age--it's true
     but women can too!

I should prefer being silent
  to being eloquent

This is the way to doing well
           just learn two words: I shall!

I'll be in your company
         if we share the bond of humanity

Three words we should celebrate:
         learn to wait

There's an art to everything-
        thinking, writing, reading, listening
        but the most important thing
        is that of purposeful living

Even the expert
    could sound absurd!

You should never regard yourself as failure
        if you don't care about any other's measure

Everyone claims to have their own case
no wonder there's chaos in every place

I don't wish to be a flower
   being a blade of **** will suit me fine
   I'll embrace the beauty of every hour
   and still share in common the day's sunshine

I've never sought for conquest
quietly I work,  I do my best

My friends quit too quickly
    my enemies hold on to last a century

It might not be the answer
     but silence does yield immense power

When they say they know
     how do they know they do know?

No one believes
they have enough spoken
they go on and on
with words that are folly-ridden

Wisdom is easier to acquire
     than character
     it's infinitely better
     to pursue the latter

Be careful of  complete honesty
  it has brought many such grievous misery

I've never aspired to be first
      only hope  not to be among the worst

My fountain of love has water but limited
unless you are worthy,  access is not permitted

Who dares say
    my best friend
    is mine to
    the deepest end?

If love has to be proven
         part of its thread has been broken

To wish for something
    does insufficiency signify
    hopes do not easily materialise
    it's folly to raise expectations too high

Keep some
      don't give all
      lest you end
      in ruinous downfall

I should be less
  not more than any other
  nothing have I to impress
  but my values I don't surrender

Poetry has no boundary
I regard it as supreme liberty

...but even in the bitterest of winter
         my heart will still bask in the sunshine of summer

Because I am so far from being clever
                 I befriend that which bears the name 'Endeavour'.

They believe they can cope
              their eyes are cast on hope

Why should I ask for the rainbow?
       I can paint one anywhere I go

For tomorrow I am well-prepared
   today itself my heart I have set

The laughter of your eyes
brings me close to the door of paradise

The more you sound serious
 the greater it becomes spurious!

The world has ended
             leaving only two people
             they have everything
             yet they still quarrel!

I don't know
          but slowly I'll still grow
