Focus

I've no religion
to nowhere do I turn:
in my saddest moment
I seek refuge only in my inner sanctum

I've never learnt
how to say a prayer
my heart I silence
no word can I find to utter

no supplication
nor pity  do I seek
consolation if there were
it doesn't rise to speak

time shall dim my eyes
yet no tear or fear will I suffer
in utter calm I'll wait for the morrow
after the night's darkest hour is over

They barred
      my appearing
       mistakenly fearing
       I would be competing
       but the truth is
       I came with the view
       of contributing
       to a noble cause
       offering
       my resources
       effort and time
       to those needing
       support and consoling

       time passed by
       like lightning
       to another cause
       I was subscribing -
       they came then
      to my door knocking
      politely I said:
      I can no longer
      be participating
      as I've no cause
      for loyalty-switching.

I can't love life
    unless poetry I love:
    over all the tedium
     of living it hovers above

The true guru
don't forget-
it's none other
than you!

I'm too deep
into poetry
I forget
my bank account
is empty
and yet
I well know
no poet
can make money
from their poetry

but I still write
with the greatest intensity
and have some pity
for the rich
who scorn poetry
(how they miss-
miserably!)

My pen
I'll hold dearly
content, happy
despite my poverty

You are either for

or against the day:

there's plainly

no half-way

There's a corner
    of my heart
    which somehow
    I can't touch-
    could it but be
    I'm not sacred enough
    for its holy sanctum
    such that its door
     it chooses to shut?
    
    I'll be humble
    and patient
     though now
     I'm in the dark
     hoping in earnest
     as I embark
     on the sojourn
     to my self-purification
     perchance by then
     I might make
     the mark.

They are truly rich
   who seek
   other lives
   to enrich

I thought of today
yesterday-
and today
I'm thinking
of tomorrow
and so
it goes on
like a twine unbroken
with me in-between
an inseparable member

it stops never
until life runs out
and the running course
is over--

such is life's chord
whether
we like it or not

I hesitate

but don't stagnate

the difference

don't you mistake!

Your dignity and integrity
none can ever ****** away:
it is your impregnable fortress
for now until your last day

Poetry
is a true democracy-
write, write, write
express freely!

Being unnoticed

I found my peace

Words are not like bullets
to be in the gun loaded:
they are each a fertile seed
within the writer's heart to be planted

Every poem is a new world
where wonder and beauty richly unfurl

One could be wise
but not truthful
or trustworthy-
hardly any surprise!

Love can't always itself pride
it does have a heavy downside

It can achieve everything
    the mind that's free :
    its power transcends
    every form of tyranny

Love takes over
where words fail
over all things else
does such silence prevail

Let this be
the rhyming of my life:
the enduring joy-verily-
of writing poetry

My curiosity compensates
for my lack of brilliance -
vast vistas it opens to me
in richest effervescence!

Let not yourself
be the mirror of another

Poetry is life's noblest music
it's so sad few do want to listen to it

If you've lived
a very long time
in a particular place
you'd somehow become
part of its landscape

If you know
a perfect job- kindly
recommend to me

I am a bad musician
so I love listening
to others
and not performing

Not knowing
is wisdom's best beginning

It might not be
    your cup of tea
    but not loving poetry
    is missing--miserably

If you know
what to ignore
your wisdom
will exponentially grow

Don't say
  someone is happier
  than you are-
  you don't really know
  he might have misery
  by far!

It's a great gift:
understanding
how to be passive

I don't need
to think:
I feel
and I know

I'm the prelude
      to tomorrow
      but don't have the flute
      to blow

The best part, sadly
of  lives- too many -
hasn't been lived
I hope this doesn't apply to me!

I lack bravery
but a coward
don't classify me

Heroism is not for me:
       on the battlefield  
       I'll court the word 'bury'!

When the  word 'love'
is abused and profane
it's the greatest moral shame

Inconspicuous
but famous

Life in two words:

duty & responsibility

Don't wait for me
you can all move ahead:
I'm in no hurry or dread-
as a Zen adherent

The most wretched man, even in his darkest hour, would say:
I have dignity as a  human being,  I have the right of existence like everyone else,  I am not a parasite, an outcast or a pariah--
I might not find happiness but I don't wish to die, I want to continue living in my state,  to commit suicide is not an option--
I will not self-annihilate!  

My life is as precious as everyone else's.

Life in one word-
attitude

I met Debussy

and this he said to me:


my music is twilight

shadows,  silhouettes

dewdrops,  hazes and mists

weeping-willows

drooping roses

dreams, silence

snowflakes

the dirge of time

memories

bereft feelings

loneliness

cries of the heart

colour-shifts

moonlight dying

stars in weeping

lovers' longing

contemplation

and reveries

murmurs

of the sea

and the voice

of the sublimest poetry

the poignancy

of the tenderest symphony.

I met
he was on the *****
when he finished
to me he said:
' Music is my religion'

I met Mahler

and this he said:

my symphonies

are divinely-inspired

like none other

This is my religion:
living reverently
in  simplicity
shorn of artificiality

Life is a clash
between reality
and fiction-
winning lies
with the latter-
quite often!
