Let not my silence
be misread
as crime of fiction...
entreating soft
upon the romance novels
you so love,
upon quiet nights
and warm summer days
upon the beach
alone...

alive.

Let my silence only be
a book mark
or folded corner to the page

that mere holds the words

wavers in hues
of violet and tangerine
as yellow shadows

the rhyme lost

My kiss
DieingEmbers May 2012
What truths were found
within my kiss

soft reflected in your eyes,

that spoke my heart
in silent tone

and echoed in your sighs.

Speak not in words
thy tender need

for silence so profound,

and let the comfort
of my kiss

be forever where truths found.

Sleepy Eyes
DieingEmbers May 2012
Share with me your sweetest dreams
let me here beside you rest,
now take me to thy bussom
that i may suckle at thy breast.
Feed me milk of human kindness
as your heart plays lullabies,
and gentle kisses wet my bald head
as I close my sleepy eyes.
Let daddy know I love him
as I know that he loves me,
as he turns down my blankets
in my bright pink nursery.
So until tomorrow
when I wake you with a scream,
share with me dear mother
your sweetest softest dream.

Simple Things
DieingEmbers May 2012
I love the simple things
about you
Others often miss...

the way you tease your hair
with idle playful fingers

or tap you teeth with your pen
and chew the lid

When nervous laughter sounds
more like tears

the simple things are missed by others
and how I'd miss them

if you ever left me my love

Sixtys the new thirty
so I've bought myself a bike
a Harley with a heart of chrome
to replace my shopping trike

no more bingo nights for me
my engine gunning loud
I've joined with the Hells Angels
and left the knitting crowd

No more standing in the rain
with my bus pass and my brella
im off to find myself some fun
with a rather younger fella

My hair net now an helmet
painted to look like flames
and notches on my fuel tank
cause I can't remember names

So clear the road I'm coming
and I won't be slowing down
cause I'm taking back my freedom
from this stuffy little town

Lock up your single men
hide them safe and sound
because the boys will all be men
if by this gal there found

My Harley roars and I'm away
another notch I've carved
so sixty the new thirty
at least then it's been halved.

head thrown back

as he plays soft

Wanton lips

Night Vigil
DieingEmbers May 2012
Softly you sleep
as I
unable to
keep tender vigil...

my waking dream
made flesh
sleeps
safe beneath
my thankful gaze.

Those eyes
see not mine own
tracing her lips
and chin
her perfect poise
framed
by gilded hair...

I brush back from
blushing cheeks
the waywardness
strands
and smile...

she knows not
I cannot sleep
for fear
I will awake.

The Tribes of Midnight
DieingEmbers May 2012
We are the tribes of midnight
that walk the hour glass sand,
with eyes forever open
as we seek the promised land.

We wear bed sheets of mourning
and pillows on ours heads,
as we ride lost together
upon worn out feather beds.

If you should see us coming
be sure to close your eyes,
or else be forced to join us
where nobody ever lies.

Insomnia
DieingEmbers May 2012
The ***** raked her silver nails
across my sweat stained skin,
and whispered softly in my ear
too late you let me in.

You fed me dreams and nightmares
and let me feast too long,
and now my hold upon you
is far too ****** strong.

I swallowed whole your eyelids
as you stared at me in pain,
your nights are mine forever
as I tug ******* your chain.

Put down the pill and water
stop counting rotten sheep,
For I am your tormentor
and for you there is no sleep.

The ***** raked her silver nails
across my sweat stained skin,
as her words returned to haunt me
too late you let me in.

Proffered Promise
DieingEmbers May 2012
From whence came this summer breeze
that makes the flowers  now seem to dance
and from my heart with natural ease
as formed this need to know romance
may summer fair be just the tease
to taunt my soul to take the chance
and may I learn from birds and bees
that your love is mine perchance

So whence er' this breeze of summer came
and soft awoke my soul with song
to speak in rhyme your given name
that flits with wings from gentle tongue
and knows no fears of sin nor shame
for love so right can ner' be wrong
as tindling now is put to flame
to burn for you my whole life long

DieingEmbers Apr 2012
Torn lovers meet once every night
yet never as one in heavens sight

Orphillia  -

Hast thou no words of comfort now
to ease my troubled heart to rest
to take from me my fevered brow
and deep set ache of risen breast

My soul cries out for one as he
that from my sight is absent made
as futile need and want set free
in rivulets of tears cascade

For such am I of royal birth
of noble stock and silver spoon
and yet my heart attains not worth
when his and mine beat out of tune

....

Tacio

I dare not speak for fear she hears
the trembling of my muted tongue
that I wouldst taste those wasted tears
that from her eyes unjustly wrung

I beg the shadows let me hide
lest I were seen and thought unkind
watching her pain that wounds my pride
knowing that love is not so blind

For I a common fellow born
of lowly stock from country folk
am bound a bondsman here this morn
by words I am afraid unspoke

.....

In Silence
DieingEmbers Apr 2012
Let this night my silence seem as one with cricket and with woodland owl
and let my ache of you be one with coyote and with wolves mournful howl
that I by lake and flowing stream could er' compare my flowing tears
as I watch in plaintiff awe as moonlight so softly disappears
for what am I if I am not a part of you and hence apart from you
I too liken of the forest elm and oak bear arms untaken too
so let this night in silent reverie give up but a whisper of hope
as I from beneath your window sigh and to the darkness now elope
for love unrequited stings the heart a double edge
as I my heart though poor it is to your heart pledge
no man er' knew such need and want as I do here
awaiting a chance to love you dear.

Cleopatra Risen
DieingEmbers Apr 2012
You look a picture
framed
by bathroom door...

my modern Cleopatra
risen
scented with milk
from coconut.

Your hair and body bound
by exotic weave...

you sway and bend
like Nile reed
or weathered wheat
still wet
from waters kiss...

as I add mine
to perfumed skin
given a taste
of heaven
in slow descent
to cardinal sin.

I no Caeser no Mark Anthony
nor would I be
when I the asp am clasped
to her sweat breast
and bid to
bite...

in fained death amongst
egyptain cotton laid
my love my life
as I prepare this night
to make of her...

a mummy.

Unconventional Love Poem
DieingEmbers Apr 2012
How can one express their heart
when words are not enough,
how can I even dream to start
when my tongue finds it so tough.

Let me try...

You are the graffitti
tagging
me as yours
you are the scent
of stale beer
in late night smokey bars
you are the
pain of paper cut
where lemon juice seeped in
and the bitter
taste of sugar
replaced by sacherin
you are the days
felt wasted
and night times thrown away
and the silence
found in laughter
just to keep the tears at bay
you are my anger
my sorrow
and my pain
and given
my time over
we would do it all again.

These are not insults
these are the depths of my heart.

Gypsy...

dance for me
bare foot
within my mind

and

play the music
soft and slow
of
mountain stream and pine

weave daisy chains
around my heart
place
bluebells in my eyes

and

dance and sing
forever free
beneath
these open skies.
