Shots ring out in the neighborhood around a crowd.
But no one saw a thing when a victim's went down.
And when the law comes to investigate the situation.
All the witnesses that were their.
Pretends to be blind or acting mute.
Stop protecting the criminals.

Living in fear hadn't done a single thing for anyone.
Except, let the criminals hide and run.
You're only as safe as you want to be.

We need to quit blaming the law enforcers for our fault.
When information is needed.
We make the wrong choices.

When you find those that loves to play bad.
Then, let them find out behind the walls of a prison.
Some guilty and some innocence.

We find folks living in fear.
When there's no need to be.
Thing of those that stood up to crooks.
Even, if it took their life.
To make us feel secure at night.

In days of old.
Children's was warned not to have the police knocking on the door.
But in present times, some see it as an honor.

Be warned.
A son that violate the law made his own choice.
Be warned.
A daughter that broke the rules too.
Decided to visit a path against our legal rules.

Be warned.
The best protection for some is the law.
Because you might run into a legalize gun holder.
That pulled the trigger ending your sibling or child life.
I don't remember, any more,
The exact shape of your hands
As I held them in mine,
Caressed them,
Memorized the length of your fingers,
The depth of your calluses.

I don't remember, any more,
Exactly your height, how much
Taller than me
You were, where
My head rested on your chest
When you held me tightly close.

I don't remember, any more,
Your scent, when we lay together
Creating our own
Magic rhythm,
Matching our heartbeats as we
Touched the sky, together.

I don't remember, any more,
The sound of your voice, calling
My name as though
It were a song
Within itself, a precious treasure
You valued with all your being.

And I don't remember, any more,
The color of your eyes, the shape
Of your lips,
Only...
How your eyes crinkled at the corners
And your laugh, as you told me,

"I love you."

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine
i tried to spend time with you inside my head
because i'm not important enough for you to give up a lunch break for
or to sleep beside on a 2 o'clock august afternoon as you make the light shine through my bedroom window.
brown was never my favorite color, until i saw your eyes through my tears.

you think it's romantic to **** the girl that writes poetry about you.
the first time we slept together you took your underwear off first.
and kissed my forehead and told me you loved me.

i'm asked why i don't leave you
and i say i live in a house with too many rooms.
that i want everything to happen to me as it happens.
i think you have the most beautiful mind
you're the type of person that people write songs about
and stay up all night crying over
praying to their imaginary friend for the pain to stop.
Who am I

I'm not my name,
I'm not my face,
I'm not my height, weight or race.
I'm not my age,
I'm not my date of birth,
I'm not yet resting, beneath the earth.

I'm the words of a song,
I'm the twinkle of an eye,
I'm hidden beneath the crinkled pages of a book,
if you take the time, you'll find me, just look.
I'm the warmth,
I'm the light,
I'm a silhouette beneath the starry sky
on a dark, cold, winter night.

I'm an infinite dream, drifting through life.
