The Goodbye  Look

The Dan talked about it, they even wrote a song,
how things got so messed up, she finally said so long,
you just had to test the waters, had to push the edge,
now your standing all alone, out there on that ledge

you promised her a wine and dine, then forgot to call,
you said that you were detained, down at City Hall,
some mix up, some sort of gaffe, you were not to blame,
why did you not dial me up, if this is what you claim

she checked it out, she caught you flat, your pathetic lies,
disgust and disappointment, laser beams from her blue eyes,
there is no way to misread, those daggers that you took,
I believe you just got, what's known as The Goodbye Look

You said you did not know that girl,  just helped her find her way,
but you were seen at her locker, seven times today,
it wasn't you is what you said, must be some mistake,
you weren't even there today, you were at the lake

she checked it out, she caught you flat, your pathetic lies,
disgust and disappointment, lasers from her eyes,
there is no way to misread, those daggers that you took,
I know you just got, what's known as The Goodbye Look

The Hero of Song

should I sing of thee
the magic you have bestowed
you bring tears to my eyes
thinking of your heavy load

to lead your nation
in ways few have known
your gentle kind heart
has constantly shown

that every song
deserves to be heard
every single magic note
every single majestic word

The Kings

Have you heard the news, the Kings are coming
the drummer boy, he's doing his drumming,
it's the time of year, when we celebrate,
it will have to do, though it's the wrong date,
most people are smiling and humming carols,
shop, shop, shopping, reaching in barrels,
to find that perfect thing, for Bobby or Sue,
when searching our hearts is what we need to do,
If Muhammad, Jesus or Krishna is your King,
thank them all, for giving us voices to sing,
about the freedoms that they, gave to us all,
the hope and the joy, hearing our call,
bringing us out, out to the light,
removing us from the darkness of night,
for they gave their lives, so we could be free,
they started it all, they made others see,
so when we celebrate, this wonderful day,
let us not forget, how it got this way

The Knights who say Ni

the Knights who say Ni
are a curious lot
they insult you with every opportunity

they say they are from France
you can believe it or not
cause they change their thought constantly

their leader is more than 12
more than 12 foot tall
with antlers and very short arms in fact

come back tomorrow
and the word has changed
a new sacred word it's hard to keep track

they ordered King Arthur
to cut down a tree
with a herring of all the wierd things

they request you find a bush
a shrubery of sorts
to appease them not golden rings

they say go away
and do not
by any means offer them correction

for they charge
if you do
they will **** in your general direction

crazy John Cleese
and Eric Idle
on their search for the grail

they twist it up
and make you go mad
in this incredibly zany epic tale

The Lady Is

the lady is hot
the lady is cool
the lady is gonna get
her love all over you

she'll flip you around
she'll steal your heart
she has the way
to make you think you're smart

she's the girl of your dreams
she's your perfect lover
she is everything it seems
better keep her under cover

the lady is smart
the lady is sassy
the lady will tell you
don't forget she's classy

she'll make your heart sing
she'll make your feet dance
you can't hardly wait
for more of her romance

she's the girl of your dreams
she's your perfect lover
she is everything it seems
better keep her under cover

the lady is on fire
the lady is like ice
no matter how you want it
she'll always make it nice

no matter what it cost
it's always worth the price

the lady is hot

The Love You Make

are you going to be in my dreams tonite
or is this the end of my Abbey Road
don't know why but these 4 lads have come to light
maybe they have come to ease my load

going back to my future looking for my past
did I really think this dream would linger
anything that was so beautiful surely would not last
the hornet has stung and left his burning stinger

the flowers have bloomed now the season is over
the fragrance slowly drifting away from my sense
the times we frolicked in the hay and clover
now looking over my shoulder as I climb the fence

wish I could be in more of a positive mind
but the baggage is getting to be a bit to much
no tricks left inside my magic hat can I find
I so terribly miss that special touch

I know what they said was true and right
about the love you give the love you make
but I am waiting for the sun to end this night
I selfishly wish I had more love that I could take

The Mafia and the Pope

the Italian mafia wanted to take control
they wanted control of the church and all its wealth
the leader Anthony “The Boss” Gambatti sent his muscle
to secure an audience with the Pope

Johnny “the Eye” and his storm troopers
pushed by the guards
into the Pope's secretary's office
Arch Bishop Spinozza
sprung to his feet to confront the noise
Johnny “the Eye”, he got that name
after he lost his left eye in a knife fight
and replaced it with a glass oversized eye
that always looked straight ahead

a burning cigarette hanging from his lips
he got right in the Bishops face
“The Boss” wants a meeting with his Royalness
“and he wants it now”
the Bishop well aware of his visitors
and there violent ways
backing away from the smoke in his face
told Johnny that he would arrange a meeting
“tomorrow” he said “tomorrow”

Johnny cocked his head
so that his large fake eye was an inch from
the Bishops nose
flicked the ashes from his cigarette
on the shoes of the Bishop
turning to walk away
“tomorrow” he said

Anthony “The Boss”
dressed in his fine 5K Italian silk suit
leather gloves
black silk fedora
accompanied by his entourage'
walked into the Popes office the next day
he sat in a chair in front of the Pope's desk
“What can I do for you Anthony?” asked the Pope
the two had grown up as school mates
and had maintained a relationship
though not close

“Carlos, I think it is time we work out
a financial aggreement with each other”
“being that the church is known for giving,
I think it is time for you to give me some money,
a lot of money”
“I have many expenses to address”

“to insure that this happens”
I want you to make love to a woman”

“and if I refuse such a horrid task? quizzed the Pope

“I will begin removing all of your Bishops,
one every hour, from all over the world”
”and it won't be pretty” responded Anthony

The Pope, obviously shaken with the proposal
got up from his chair, his face in his hands
paced back and forth for a few minutes

“I will agree to your disgusting request
on three conditions” said the Pope.

“and what are those conditions?” asked Anthony

“1st  this woman must be blind,
so that she cannot see who defiles her body”

“2nd  this woman must be deaf,
so that she cannot hear any hint of who defiles her body”

“and 3rd your holiness?”

“3rd, this woman must have really really *******”

The Magicians Assistant

hidden behind cape and robe
the magic hat contains secret treasures
the seductive mistress with smiling face
brings slight of hand in different measures

now you see it now you don't
the trick is more than meets the eye
some will understand while others wont
they hide inside a box and cry

he waves his wand over the table
making things appear so real
but the assistant is doing as has been told
he gets all the applause it was the deal

The Mask of Mediocrity

there are those here amongst us that hide
behind a mask of mediocrity
too frightened to even show us there own faces
so one dimensional in thought

it would be wrong to condemn or criticize
why they choose to hide
telling stories of their own fantasyland fantasies
real life scares the hell out of them

when it all comes down to the end
we are all wearing masks
we are all mediocre in averages of totality
good at one thing terrible on another

good hard workers reliable to the firm
great at making love
but terrible at giving true forgiving love
committed to their own world

and me I do not choose to hide my face
but mediocrity at its finest
still striving to reach that art of true forgiving love
trying to remove that mask
and by the way the real world scares the hell out of me too!

The Milkman Cometh

It could be Margie or it could be Pearl
bringing us our refreshment we trust
though we are all old dead beat boozers
we still enjoy sweet cookies dunked in lust

we waited for Hickey for as long as we could
to get this party off with a bang
but we've waited long enough I say
time for a grand toast gosh dang

Rocky gave us the okay to get started
but he asked us to leave Cora alone
she was busy baking a surprise cake
for the captain who was finally coming home

Hickey finally shows but wont raise his glass
says he sees better now that he's sober
but he couldn't take the kiss from her lips
and quickly began to disrobe her

got milk they all yelled as the night wore on
the police finally shut it all down
the chocolate had been spilled everywhere
the news was all over the town

The Monkey's Uncle

I'm french fried
freeze dried
pour tabasco on top
if you think I lied

if I look your way
I will go astray
pat the monkey's head
every night and day

you drive me mad
with your beautiful smile
for one of your kisses
I would walk a mile

sometimes sassy
with a sharp wit
work the fancy words
rub your hands with spit

a pound of clay
a box of sand
I can spank that monkey
with either hand

hair of gold
hot and cold
motorcycle mama
but it's been sold

likes to dance
when given a chance
has a frequent fire
inside her pants

keeps my head
in constant flux
spinning in circles
that sure *****

it's my own fault
I'm a carbuncle
stay where you belong
I'm the Monkey's uncle

The music stops

in the background I can hear the tune
a melody that makes my mind wander
it's too bad but I find that all too soon
my knees and feet begin to flounder

the beat has faded and I struggle
trying to dance when the music stops
the words were plain so close I snuggle
then suddenly spinning like tiny tops

did I forget to insert another dollar
was the plug accidently pulled loose
it's like someone grabbed my by the collar
crawl back into my hole like a recluse

I try to remember the magic words
the ones that made the music play
musical notes from singing birds
but just like that they fly away

a constant mystery how it comes and goes
maybe it's my imagination sprinkling mystic drops
but why do I seem to stand on the tips of my toes
like a ballerina after the music stops

The Other Shore

I heard a temple bell ringing
and it had a very strange effect
I suddenly felt an extraordinary sensation
of unity and beauty such as I had never felt before
It happened so suddenly that I was rather dazed
it was real, not a fancy or an illusion
I thought maybe I had found my way
my way to the other shore
a guide came along and asked me
if he could show me the temples
and on that instant I was back again
in the world of noise and vulgarity
I want to find my way to the other shore

There is no way to the other shore
There is no action, no behaviour, no prescription
that will open the door to the other
It is not an evolutionary process;
it is not the end of a discipline;
if the mind has forgotten itself
and no longer says - the other bank or this bank
if the mind has stopped groping and searching,
if there is total emptiness and space in the mind itself
then and only then is it there.

The Pen of Friedrich - I

To live is to suffer,
to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum
shows that faith does not prove anything

You have your way.
I have my way.
As for the right way,
the correct way,
and the only way,
it does not exist

Ah, women.
They make the highs higher and the lows more frequent

And we should consider every day lost
on which we have not danced at least once.
And we should call every truth false
which was not accompanied by at least one laugh

The true man wants two things:
danger and play.
For that reason he wants woman,
as the most dangerous plaything.

The Pen of Friedrich Nietzsche

The Persian Chessboard

as the story goes, it happened in Persia
could have been India, or even in China
the King was bored, so he looked for someone wiser
the Grand Vizier, being the principle adviser

entertain me the King said, challenge my senses
I need something different, I'm tired of burning fences
the Vizier scratched his chin, and stared straight ahead
how about a new game, where you have to use your head

we'll use moving pieces, on black and white squares
the King will be the major piece, the rest nobody cares
capture the opponents King, to make him surrender
be careful of the others, the ones who are pretender

we can call it 'shahmat', or death to the King
and when this death is proclaimed, everybody sing
the final move is checkmate, there will be no place to run
the game sometimes in real life, the loser had no fun

the pawns and the knights, each one fell to the side
eventually then an added piece, the King's special bride
the Queen was entered in, she also had some power
she was just as deadly, cutthroat behind you in the shower

the King was very pleased, he granted Vizier a treasure
he told him, pick your price, anything you pleasure
the Vizier tried to trick the King, he made mistake instead
the game lived on and on, but the Vizier turned up dead

The Plains of Africa

when you touch down here on the African plains
you can almost immediately feel the pains
of a life that grew from nothing at all
greatness achieved but still the blood stains

cultures of complexity started here
somehow they understood but still there was fear
they created technology science and a division of labor
and learned somehow to live with their neighbor

they created transportation writing and math
they started it all they created the path
without their skills in agricultural tricks
we could have never grown just chewing on sticks

and though it all started here so long ago
this area suffers did they forget what they know
this is where my future all began
here was the beginning the beginning of man

we owe it all to these beings so humble and caring
we need to find an end to all of their despairing
it seems funny that they were the ones stretching the  brain
and now they need educating when there is no rain

infestation of some kind has continually been a thorn
either insects or bacteria for even the newborn
yes they were our beginning the life that we know
we owe our tears and support to help them regrow

The Princess and the frog

time and distance had taken its toll
old and weathered and somewhat forgotten
he hopped on tired legs
all too often shunted by his former mate
he wondered if there was more
he wondered if there was a reason
he was no longer driven
he no longer hoped
he no longer dreamed
he missed the passion
but knew not how to recover
his dreams
his desires
then he stumbled into a garden
it was a new garden
one he had never before seen
he wondered why he was here
he wondered if he was just lost
then hello was whispered
he looked around seeing no one
then another hello a bit louder
he looked up and staring down
staring down at him
was a beautiful flower
a sunflower
a sunflower with big beautiful eyes
she batted her eyes and smiled
he was amazed she had noticed
none noticed him these days
are you lost the sunflower asked
I think I may be he answered
well welcome to my garden
my name is the Princess Perly
what is your name
I am just an old frog was his reply
and it matters not my name
but I am glad to meet you Princess Perly
they talked for a long time
she finally had to leave
and he was sorry she had to go
but he returned to the garden the next day
and they met again and shared
shared thoughts and feelings
she was so kind and sweet
and beautiful beyond his dreams
slowly he fell in love with the princess
well he kind of suspected it was rather quicker
day after day
they would meet in the garden
he finally told her
that he was in love with her
she blushed but did not answer
time moved on
his desires returned
his dreams returned
the princess finally gave in to his heart
she told him she also loved him
his world would never be the same
she kissed him gently
and his life would never be the same
though time would change things
they stayed deeply in love
they stayed the best of friends
though he was still a frog
he knew he was someone again
he was loved by a Princess
and that made him smile...

The Rainbow has a beard
             (where's Eric)

So many magnificent colors
so many sounds of the artist reaching
the tones so inventive and creative
it was new then, different, not like another

the melody carried away in timeless echoes
sending us off drifting into the unknown
the burning hot strings overcharged
while Mr. Bruce treated our ears lyrically

the Ginger was sprinkled everywhere
exciting the air molecules with explosions
off timed, eccentric patterns of rhythm
but Eric was the warrior of epic proportions

the white room with black curtains
just beyond the crossroads of that time
and the sunshine or their love blossomed
and indeed the rainbow did have a beard

to this day the performances continue
greying temples now appear in the shadows
still very special to the old warriors that remain
but not like the Jedi from whence he came

The Raven Flys

once again the Raven has made its nest
leaving you with an empty heart
your mind is flying in a circular pattern
not knowing where to end
not knowing from whence the start

this path has been traveled before
and we are to repeat our mistakes
over again as the talons of the Raven
sink into our eyes blinding us
tears of rain like winters snowflakes

we have tried to capture the elusive
knowing full well that destiny has spoken
the communion has already transpired
it is the full length version of catch 22
the confession of hearts broken

the Raven cares not of your pain
diving full speed into your empty abyss
tearing the flesh away from the frame
laughing at the mess you have left
leaving you nothing not even a kiss

There once was a man

There once was a man of simple thoughts
his dreams however carried him to a higher plateau
that left him feeling empty when he awoke
in his dreams he played games with angels
he sang beautiful songs with sinners and saints
he knew how and when the world began
he even felt the touch of God on his shoulder

but when he awoke from his dreams
he felt sad and of severe despair
for with each moment's passage
his memory of his dreams faded away
he no longer could remember the names
of the angels he had played with just moments earlier
he could not recall the songs he had sang
songs with kings and Queens and paupers
he could no longer feel the impression left
on his shoulder by the hand of God

he wanted to return to his dreams
where all concerns and fears were non existent
where angels were not that different
from the children he had played with when he was younger
the sinners and saints were former
friends acquaintances rivals enemies lovers
the perfect balance of love and understanding
the way it should be
the way it could be
if only this man could accept truth

The Request

I need you in here, and I need you right now,
yes sir boss, what is it that you need,
I need an application, I want you to show me how,
give me the information, and I'll take the lead

I need this application, to do anything I want,
anything at all, is that what you really mean,
that's what I said, and in every kind of font,
this is going to be tough, is this for the Queen

I don't want to hear, that this can't be done,
I'm just not sure, where exactly do I start,
you're supposed to be the wiz, they say you are the one,
I am very good, but your information is short

I want every whistle, every bell, I want the best,
I'm still not sure, just what you want, can you tell me more,
just run along, and start it now, quit being such a pest,
I just need the information, I'm not trying to be a bore

why can't you just do it, why do you make this fuss,
I cannot reach the stars, if I don't know my destination,
I want it by tomorrow, now I've go to catch a bus,
but, please,  listen I need clarification ….

"There's a cat in my hat"

I needed to go to the store the other day,
I was in a big hurry, no time to play,
I grabbed my wallet, my keys, and my hat,
and reached down to pet my friendly old cat
The traffic was bad, cars going fast,
took me forever, but I got there at last,
picked up some milk, some butter, some cheese,
grabbed for my hanky as I started to sneeze
I got into line it was terribly long,
I daydreamed a while, recalling a song,
the man at the checkout was starring at me,
I wondered what, what it could be
He said "something is wrong" there's a tail from your hat,
I patted my head "I said it's just my old cat",
he looked at me funny so I said to him,
his name is Fluffy, but I call him Jim
He likes to go with me wherever I go,
and I like him with me he puts on a show,
he pats my nose and licks on my head,
he's more than a cat he's my best friend I said
some may think I'm silly for sure,
but I have a hard time walking out of that door,
without my wallet, my keys to my flat,
but most of all my cat in my hat

and I'll be strung out here all night

the road is paved with many turns
and you must stay alert
the horrid smell of rubber burns
as you swerve off onto the dirt

not every answer will be correct
sometimes your gut is wrong
someone will steer you off the path
for the cost of a simple song

Utopia is a state of mind
not a place found on a map
to always keep your razor sharp
you need use a barber's strap

to offer yourself for the good
feel pride in the art of giving
Utopia is not a place of dreams
it is where you are living

The secret life of
mack the knife

his teeth shined a pearly white
they glistened like fallen snow
his smile would melt the ladies hearts
and leave them feeling aglow

but when he chose to leave his bite
the smile turned to a snear
Louie called said I'll see you at the club
yeah Mack meet in the rear

he was a banker by the daylight
a vicious killer in the night
he always thought that he would
find time to make things right

he left his victims on the sidewalk
or a tugboat by the shore
their throats cut from ear to ear
the coppers going door to door

but not a single soul was talking
nobody saw anything
but they could tell by the looks
they'd be dead if they chose to sing

Louie wanted Souky Taudry whacked
he was messin with Jenny Diver
she's my girl and I ain't taking that
I'll set you up to be his driver

he wore a disguise of a chauffer
fancy coat pants and a cap
but when he took a wrong turn
Souky knew he was in for bad crap

they found him in the alley
his life oozing out on the street
his throat cut by Mack the Knife
another job had been complete

back at the bank the next morning
he was all smiles and slapping backs
nobody knew his secret life
or if they were the next one he whacks

The Temperature is Rising

almost 2 years had past
since we last spoke
with any fire
I thought, no, I knew
I had lost you
it was understandable
it was expected
it was painful
now you have returned
with embers burning
my heart, my soul
dancing together again
you have returned with more
more love
more passion
more than I could have
ever asked for
and I am in a dream I feel
but it is not a dream
it is real
and I can't get enough
I want to inhale you
totally consume you
so you never disappear again
but only if you want me to
the last thing I would want
is to smother you
I just want to enjoy you
let our love
smolder into the night

The Touch That Never Came

a beautiful soul
came and went
only allowing a passing glance
it is my doing
my belief
that we never took the chance

only in dreams
of daylight
the dreams of held slow dance
music that played
in our souls
but the touch never came

The Tree

the nights are colder now
the stars seem much brighter somehow
when the clouds let you peek thru their cover
the days getting a little drearier
as the trees lose their color
and the winds much brisker
won't be long old winter will be here
freezing drizzle and snow
I take a walk thru the woods
find the old stream singing it's song
as it flows slowly over the rocks
there I see the old oak tree looking
so forlorn with its bare branches
wishing spring would return
4 foot off the ground
in the belly of this big old oak
is a carved heart with an arrow
and lettering inside the heart
I run my fingers over the lettering
Glp loves TAS
a tear falls
I wish for spring too

The Tuner's Turn

he's tuned them all it seems
most of the 12,5oo different brands
he has tuned them even in his dreams
in damp basements and smoky band stands

Ballwin, Steinway, Schimmel and Mason
the very best there is to offer
Irving Strausser is the one to hasten
he is the master you want to proffer

a fine tinkler of the ivory in his own right
but never really ever given the chance
he practiced until dawn's early light
the best was a Holiday Inn wedding dance

he was in attendance that special night
at the Radio City Music Hall
he came to see the maestro's delight
but alas had tripped and fallen against the wall

the audience was antsy whistling and clapping hands
the producers were anxious not knowing where
they spotted Irving in the aisle hearing the demands
they begged him play they were in despair

he shook his head saying no certainly not me
I am just a tuner an amateur at best
they begged and pleaded for his sympathy
and well you can guess the rest

he finally took the stage the crowd settled in
he graciously bowed his head and explained the situation
after a few nervous moments he finally did begin
he played oh did he play to a standing ovation

his fingers flew over the keys like magic
this was the tuner's turn to take his place
some of the audience may forget his name
but they will always remember his face

The Voice Returns

My God I'm so lucky, I've heard it again,
waves slicing through, the clamor of distance,
so hard to describe, the feelings within,
when the softness comes through, I have no resistance

it is the clarity of knowledge, the soul of laughter,
caressing my heart, it rolls through my brain,
such a free spirit, like from the hereafter,
the Voice once again, feel my tachyons drain

the magic of wonders, the wonders of magic,
allowing the register, of sound to emit,
letting it go by unheard, would be tragic,
smoke fills the eye, of that one final hit

has this gone past, the true reason of life,
wanting the sweetness, to fill up my mind,
hearing the drummer, the marcher with fife,
I'll follow the Voice, maybe one day I'll find

The Wheel

someone gets off another gets on
round and around the wheel spins
you can only hope that before you're gone
you've done enough good to cover your sins

each has a turn of writing their book
comedies and drama each a separate page
you can't venture forward to take a look
pray that your legacy isn't written in a cage

greet each day and everyone with a smile
never leave them with a bitter taste
for those special ones walk that extra mile
never let them shake their head and say what a waste

no way to know the destination when you begin
but the end of the line cannot be passed by
turn and throw your kisses to the wind
when the ticket taker winks and says goodbye

The World of Make Believe

he was not a real doctor
but he played one on TV
in the world of make believe
you can be anything you see
you can be a poet
or a cowboy or a king
and with electronic tricks
you can pretend that you can sing
you can be stronger than an ox
and fly up in the sky
stand up on a old soap box
yell and scream and cry
you can be the judge of man
the protector of the world
a guy can be a pretty girl
with his hair so nicely curled
you can be the Queen of France
a mailman or a lawyer
you can pretend you know how to dance
or be Huck Finn or old Tom Sawyer
the mind is the only limit
because it is fantasy not real
in the world of make believe
anyone can make a deal

you can be anyone you want to be :)

They Call Me Jelly

well the feast hasn't even started yet
and already my gut hurts bad
should have never taken that bet
50 hot dogs is a lot for a lad

I stuff my face on a regular basis
a dozen eggs and a slab of bacon
people stare can't believe their faces
how many donuts have I now taken

got me one of those empty legs
I can stuff a lot inside my belly
guess I might be just a little fat
I suppose that's why folks call me Jelly

but tomorrow's the day when I'll put it away
taters and pies and turkey and peas
I'll stuff my face all **** day
hey that's my roll excuse me please

yes I bounce when I jog to the next turkey leg
get out of my way or I'll run you over
save me some dessert I plea and I beg
after this pie a whole box of Russel Stover

yeah I'm fat but I really don't care
kind of sleepy now guess I'll sit and watch some telly
an apple pie or maybe even a pair
guess that's why they call me Jelly

Thinking of You

I'm thinking of you
thinking of you day and night
from early sunrise until the pale moonlight

I'm dreaming of you
dreaming of you locked in my arms
floating around your magical charms

I'm wishing that you
wishing that you were here right now
planning our lives to last forever

This is my Dream

you say there are times I make you smile
I hear these words and they in turn make me smile
making you smile has always been my dream

you say there are times I am unfair and make you sad
I hear these words and they in turn make me very sad
making you sad is my own worst bad dream

lying next to you looking at the stars so beautiful
you lying next to me your face so beautiful
a nearly perfect dream

feeling your body next to me your skin so soft
feeling the muscles in my body tighten so hard
my dream of desire

smelling your scent touching your hair so incredible
your hand on my bare chest kissing my lips so sweet
my dream of total consumption

sharing my fears my hopes lying in your arms
feeling every inch of your naked body
my dream of caring and lust

this is the way you make me feel my love goddess
this is the way you say I make you feel so warm
this is my dream

This Song

I wrote for her this song
the highest gift that I can offer
my heart
my soul
my mind
and every fiber of my being

I wrote for her this song
that tells the story of
my love
my devotion
my inspiration
to be the one she dreams about

I wrote for her this song
a gift to last a lifetime
my words
my voice
my thoughts
how I cannot live without her

I wrote for her this song
I sang it as best I could
my music
my plea
my hope
she loved this song

then she said goodbye

Those Eyes

They say the eyes, are the window to the soul,
when I look into those eyes, I struggle keeping control,
they say that man can never know, from whence he came,
my words to explain it all, seem so very very lame

I knew you from the future, or was it from the past,
we connected through electrons, the stardust forever cast,
having never hardly seen your face, it was impossible to guess,
into the light years of primordial stew, I emerged to confess

now your face is very clear, the eyes so very bright,
those eyes show to me, the treasures of insight,
I look into the image, and see the sunflowers smile,
they teach patience and kindness, innocence of child

I wish that I had known, when everything was new,
had seen those visions early, that I now see when with you,
you have taught me so much, how to deal with me,
when I cannot accept the truth, winds ******* out to sea

you find the way to bring me back, rescue my angry soul,
those eyes can see everything, for that they take a toll,
you are my very anchor now, saved me from my lies,
I feel the universe all new again, when I look into those eyes

Those Lips

I was sitting in a booth at Boomer's coffee shop,
it was two a.m. And I was ready to drop,
working my *** off, Just trying to get ahead,
but going in circles, it's going to my head

sitting here sipping a cup of Cafe' LaWut,
pulling drags off a stale cigarette ****,
in walks this redhead, long legs and all,
set me straight up, hit my head on the wall

long red hair all the way down her back,
near 6 foot tall, with quite a stack,
legs from the bottom, all the way to the top,
could feel my bottom jaw start to drop

looking like a dork couldn't help but stare,
think to myself, she's not wearing underwear.
bright green eyes that sparkled like stars,
and here I am looking, like a creature from Mars

but she looked my way, gave a wink and a smile,
she must be crazy, or been drinking a while,
her cute pug nose fit her face just right,
I could look at her for the rest of the night

the thing I noticed most out of all this charm,
long hair, long legs, a smile so warm,
killer eyes, perfect teeth and shapely hips
I really had this urge to kiss those lips.

Toe-Jam Football

here they all come now
they all come together
holding hands and laughing
being tickled by a feather

dreaming dreams of days gone by
or of children of the future nights
how many times have they reached out
marveling at the splendid lights

give me life send me love
waltz me around in circles small
hold me tight kiss me good night
tell me I am the prince of the ball

even with my imagined flattop
I can still be grooving slowly
reaching to score the final goal
my toe jam football, good looking and roller holy

Too Young to Love

they could feel the lust in there souls
the quickening of the breath
instincts inherited since the beginning
making love until their death

but could they grasp love's true meaning
would they understand real love
that there is much more then sweating bodies
should they pray for guidance from above

or have we created a monster of thought
making more than species continuation
pure animal desire got us this far
we're not here because of *******

so how old is too young I ask
it seems logical to be civilized about this
but why do we feel these urges so young
why do we feel the pleasures of that first kiss

To the Moon Alice

I know I seem to be in a rut
but it would be nice if you kept your mouth shut
snide remarks and wise *** cracks
never a moment to just relax

you're in my face you're on my back
how will ever get back on track
someone needs to come to grips
a good ole smack right across your lips

picked a bad day to give up coke
and my ***'s all gone that ain't no joke
haven't had a cigarette in the last 3 nights
my head is spinning shut off the lights

the honeymoon's over that's for sure
guess I could just go out that door
I doubt I'll make it all the way til noon
before sending Alice to the moon

Treatise on Cosmic Fire

I sky dive thru my skydrive
picking up pieces of forget-me-nots
holding on to hallucinations
and keep coming back for more
when I arrive I feel alive
ready for anything thrown my way
pretty lady sings the blues
handing saucy notes out the door
she asks me can you handle the pain
of my screaming heart in your ear
if you don't understand the question
please let me make it completely plain
there's a fire burning so **** deep
it is cosmic in it's nature
from the hell of the bang
melting my heart with each quarter note
riding on a tall ship or a longboat
but she keeps on trying
ask her again if love is the answer
she whispers if you believe that
then you just might lose me
but you must keep trying
then maybe
I will ask you to stay

True Believer

Living in a vacuum, marking my time,
searching for some answers, a reason or rhyme,
I'm not a true believer,
but I'm sorry for my sins,
confused by my emotions,
free because of him

I know you're out there somewhere,
just a matter of time,
when we'll be together,
I'll be yours and you'll be mine,
I'll be a true believer,
when you're lying in my arms,
confused by my emotions,
and all her many charms,

I don't wanna be the one, who says that they're sorry,
Please don't let me be the one, crying every night,
I don't wanna be the one, who says that they're lonely,
Please don't let me be the one, crying every night,

go where you wanna go,
do what you wanna do,
be what you wanna be,
say what you wanna say,
because it's right

I know you're out there somewhere,
just a matter of time,
when we'll be together,
I'll be yours and you'll be mine,
I'll be a true believer,
when I'm lying in your arms,
confused by my emotions,
and all her many charms,
