Orange candlelight
A silhouette flickering
Hesitant, unsure
Where will your feet find purchase
On a night so black
With no moonlight to guide you
On the pathway to her heart

to of sung my song clearly
baring my heart and my soul
full of love, truth and freedom
until the baton is stilled

watching, witnessing
life is full of simple truths

watching as life flows

praying for the endless night
so long overdue

death is so sweet

we listen to our fellows
respecting their opinions

acting with true compassion
ready to cooperate
always demanding the same
making our own decisions
looking below the surface
to seek out all the details
and how they fit together
with an unpejudiced eye
and then we will be worthy
of being called civilized
and intelligent

Pure gobbledygook
Joe public bedazzling
Politician grade

prairie dogs scatter
high above the golden field
a hawk soars alone

fences white with frost
blue sky, yellow sun, cold day
snow geese are leaving

molasses thoughts
drifting down within me
eyes stuttering

waltzing a scythe
through a field of golden grass
crows walk close behind

the rain is pouring
crowds of people are running
for the last train home

Silver shafts of light
Pierce the tall and ancient grove
picking out colors
Rich greens, russets, silver greys
An elk struts through, rack held high

my love will endure
tho time has withered and died
i shall be with you
and you will feel me calling
come away with me my love
beyond the deep dark endless
and its wild spiraling stars
come into my love's embrace
look into my shining eyes
and i will look into yours

thin gray horizon
dull, dark, oozing riverside
a heron takes to wing

Her tears like petals
softly falling to the ground
loves' blossom dying

Beginnings and ends
Some overlapped, some butting
Others just dangling

grey clouds crowding in
the desultory rain drifts
pigeons mob for crusts
strutting on pink feet they search
the unforgiving asphalt
of the glass, concrete canyon
stalked by umbrellas

stormy windy day
my windows full of rain drops
my heart full of you

harebells and tulips
verge the blackberry brambles
two lop ears within

water boatmen
skim bright coloured reflections
as the sun sinks

above coral lips
venetian blue sadness
your luminous eyes

on the cross town bus
met a holy man laughing
singularities

They sat beside a steep black hole
Perched high upon the event horizon
It chilled them to their very soul
That they might fall with no hope of risen

young man in wheelchair
lets the air out his tires
then begs for money

fast running brook
trout sparkle underneath
light blue ripples

you fill me with lust
for your body and your soul
you are what i need

The cold night air chased
Holidayers from the beach
And the tide swelled in
Washing the sand clean again
Smelt fishermen set their nets
Hunting tiny silver fish
Under a star speckled sky
And I was happy

so many people
ignore the plight of others
till they are in need

you are delightful
that is what i think of you

It is raining out
And my universe is grey
Beneath these dark clouds
Cars hiss by on the pavement
Pedestrians hurry past
But I just stand here and gaze
Lost in my own enigma
Wondering when light will be

Yellow daffodils
Shaking and nodding their heads
Small dog with leg cocked

sipping gasoline
on this tar paper plain
playing with matches

bonfire after dark
clouds of orange sparks burst up
silhouettes tending

that it flowed under my walls
undercutting them
and causing them to collapse
it's no wonder that i love
fascinating you

flashes in our minds
contrasting puzzles that birth
countless brevity

blooming after dark
the jasmine's sweet warm scent
fills me with yearning

Exotic realms lure
Adventurers and tourists
With their rare beauty
And their splendorous visions
Who once home again
And strolling their neighborhood
Are blind to the magic there

the fire has not died
it still burns deep inside me
and i rake those coals
raising clouds of hot sparks from
embers full of memories
so painfully beautiful
that i cry and scream in pain
wishing that i could return to
the blazing red inferno
of our torrid love
