Waking up with a smile,
so rare.
Tell me,
how do I do this
again?

I knocked at the lonely book
To open the doors to an adventure
Between the labyrinth of words
Taking me towards the untold story
Unraveling the surprises, slowly
Every turn I take brings me to a crossroad
Words pulling me to different directions
Engaging my mind in wordplay
And I start interacting with the protagonists
Delving deep into their minds
To gauge the thoughts of the author
Trying to bridge the gap between our thoughts
Only to face a barrage of hypothesis
Until I find myself at the exit of the maze
The lonely book has managed to hold my attention
Another journey waits till I decipher every word

Your smile is the poetry
I was never able to write
For it never had words
An honest expression of your soul
Unmatched radiance across your face
Poetry which is most eloquent
Recited from your heart to mine

I am from the seas
where the harsh winds blow,
where I learned all I know,

where my mother
taught me to accept people
as they are,

where my father
taught me to be me
and to fight for me
when no one else would,

where my teacher
showed me that the me I am
is an okay me to be,

where my friends
very different from me
taught me what it means
to accept all for who they are,

where the birds
sing me good morning
and calm me when I'm not,

'cause the winds hit us hard,
and the power often leaves,
leaving us with each other,
an open community where everyone
and anyone
is welcome.

I am from the seas
where the harsh winds blow,
where I learned all I know.

Helen
does anybody
really know
who we are?
can they tell
just by looking
upon our scars?
do they think
when we bleed
in blackened tones,
our bodies ink
just seemed to seep
from an unturned stone?
who we are
is night and day
a happy home
or just a place
to stay
winters in front
of fireplaces
or in cardboard boxes
in empty spaces
who we are
is where we've been
it's stories from things
that can never be unseen
it's how we laugh,
or choke or scream
it's about where we are going
it's not about presentation
it's all about the journey
to our ultimate destination

77 miles to the place
I call home.
No drama,
no ****.
Just family and more.
To grow a smile on my face,
and get away from this place
I abhor.

Call Me Sara
I write
to hide my tears
to pour them
with ink
like life

I write
because i am
sad
because i need
to make
you
happy

I write
because i feel
there is nothing else
i can do
in this world
but try to share
every peice of
grief
i feel
to make you
understand

i write
Why do you write?
