Equal to you
Craig Harrison Feb 2015
I breath the oxygen in the air
I feel the wind hitting my skin
the rain drops on my head
My heart beats to keep me alive
my brain keeps my body running.

I am not different
I am not unique
I am the same as you
I live on this Earth
I was born on this world
I am not different
I am equal to you.

You did what
Craig Harrison Feb 2015
If you cheat on me
I'll get you back
I'll pour hot wax into your *** crack
watch you scream and cry in pain
I'll break your legs and leave you lame.

**** that ***** and kiss that *****
I'll leave you mangled in a ditch.
You said you loved me
but you made me cry
I hope you go and die.
Cheat on me
I'll get you back
smash your Xbox into a million pieces
and clean your car with the dogs feces.
so now you've lost me, I'm finally free
don't you ever dare text me.
Tried something different here (Sorry for the swearing)

I wanted to make this from the point of view of a woman that as been cheated on and how angry it makes a person feel.

I have never cheated on a person and I never will but I know how it feels to be cheated on.

Open fields
Craig Harrison Feb 2015
Open fields full of graves
some millenniums old
some newer
as we come across more bodies
is it an archeological dig
or grave robbing.
We know one thing
the millions of people
scattered about in these fields
died of war.
200 thousand years
in the history of Earth
no other species as taken more lives
than the HUMAN RACE.
Not the best but the message is clear.. STOP KILLING

What is it?
Craig Harrison Feb 2015
I've asked once
I'll ask again
What is love?

Love for ourselves
Love for our family
Love for our friends
Love for our pets
So many types of love
but what about love for life

We love our pets
but what about
the ants
the birds
the fish
the trees
and maybe
love for aliens

What ever love is
can you really explain
how you feel for the things you love
As I've got older I've learned to love all life, the big, the small and even the strange but one thing I never thought I would come to love would be A.I (Artificial Intelligence/Consciousness) but in March this year there will be a film released called Chappie and after watching the trailer I found myself having emotion of love and a feeling of protection for the robot. If you haven't seen the trailer I recommend it because it looks like it will be a brilliant film, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that this poem was inspired by the feelings I felt while watching this trailer.

Anyway I hope you enjoy/enjoyed reading, please leave comments if you have any.

Have a great day :)

Silenced
Craig Harrison Feb 2015
Why do you write asked the stranger
why do babies scream I replied

because we will not be silenced.

You can tell us to be quiet
you can put us in cages
you can cause harm to us
but we will not be silenced

I write to express myself
I write to be heard
because no matter what you do
I will not be silenced

Time and memory
Craig Harrison Feb 2015
Time moves in one direction, memory in another.
So long as the memory of certain beloved friends lives in my heart, I shall say that life is good.
Time removes the flesh from bodies and the blood from hearts
but time will never remove the memories from our souls.

A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you
A room without books is like a body without a soul
I don' t know much, but
Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life
For time destroys, nothing lives on
but the clock that constantly moves will never destroy the memories that live on in our souls.
Inspired by the words of:

William Gibson, Helen Keller, Elbert Hubbard, Mark Twain, Marcus Tullius Cicero

I thought you loved me
Craig Harrison Feb 2015
I remember the day you looked into my eyes
when you told me you loved me
but after your actions, I find myself questioning
did you ever really love me.

The day I introduced you to my family
the day I asked you to marry me
It feels like only yesterday
I thought we loved each other
SO HOW COULD YOU CHEAT ON ME

My mind is full of so many thoughts
I'm sad, angry and disappointed
but my heart is telling me that I still love you
so tell me, how can I ever forgive you
YOU CHEATED ON ME
As far as I am aware I have not been cheated on but a friend of mine did and it is his story that gave me the idea for this.

Mommy wake up

Things worth remembering
Craig Harrison Jan 2015
Only you can set my heart on fire
Only you can destroy me
on my mind until the body begins to tire
dreaming of you, each night you're all I see
I gave you my heart, only you can destroy me.

I just miss you, in a quite simple desperate human way
Life is not life with out you in it
you gave me life, you gave it meaning
my heart is on fire, a fire that you lit
a fire that as stood but is now beginning to sit.
I miss you, in a quite simple desperate human way.

The image of your smile that sinks further into my mind
the fun times, just a memory
the way you loved, the way you were always kind
Only you can set my heart on fire
Only you can destroy me
Only you can set me free
free from the pain
the memories of you are keeping me sane
set me free from this pain.

As you lay there, sleeping
little did I know
something so evil was beginning to grow
inside your head, something that didn't belong.
You were always so strong
fighting the pain
fighting to be free
but one day you was taken from me.

Senses
Craig Harrison Jan 2015
See the stars in the night sky
the clear blue seas
and the architecture of shanghai.
See art
the beauty of the world
and the passion of the human heart.

Smell the roses, tulips and lilies
the perfumes and aftershaves
and the over powering smell of chilies.
Smell the coffee, the toast and the flowers
the morning after a rain storm
and the bread in its infant hours.

Touch the sand
the animals of the world
and the many animals that live on the land.
Touch the fabrics
the rivers
and the seas

Feel the wind
the rain as it falls
and the snow hitting your face.
Feel the coldness
the warmness
and the change in temperature.

Hear the birds
the laughter
and the tears.
Hear the dogs
the cats
and the music of the world.

Getting louder
Craig Harrison Jan 2015
You can hear a pin drop
you can manipulate anyone
you can see things others do not
WHY
because so many are silent
so many waste their mind
AND
so many walk around without looking, without seeing

Your family and friends tell you to be quite
you're told not to ask questions
you're told to accept what is
you're told that you will be punished.
So while everyone you know sits silent
while everyone you know never asks why
while all the people in your life accepts everything
and while they sit in fear
You hold your head up high
you use your voice
you ask questions
you fight for change
you don't feel fear

The world around you might be silent
but they are always listening
and each day
the world is getting louder
the world is being heard!
If you believe something is the right thing share it with the world

certain things are not the right things, these include but are not limited to (hurting people/animals in anyway)
that's a big no no

Live free of pain
live free of horror
live for today
and for tomorrow
live in peace
live in love
live free
live good

Will part of us live on in others
will our dreams remain
will our love never end
are we infinite?

Space, surely it is infinite
never ending, just like no beginning
we could travel the stars for infinity
but is Space really infinite.

Life, now surely
it's been here for so long
in some form.
Could it exist else where
Mars, Titan, else where
so if Space is infinite
could life be

Ideas, imagination, surely they must be
they make up who we are
they gave us architecture
books, music, art
Ideas and imagination have existed for as long as us
so are they infinite

If none of the others, then surely technology
surely that is infinite
Cars, computers, phones, AI
surely technology will live on
in some form
it must be infinite

HUMANS
If our dreams, our love
If space, if life
If our ideas, our imagination, our technology
If one of them lives on, if just one of them is infinite
then could Humans be infinite

Hiding
Craig Harrison Dec 2014
Tears running down my cheek
pain that can not be seen
hiding
hiding the truth
hiding my fears
hiding everything that you can not see

you never play over the good memories
your mind tells you none exist
just the bad, the ones that make you sad.
Tears running down my cheek
as I hide the truth
and hide my fears

You see the time, but no motivation
nothing pushing to get you up
nothing pushing you to do anything
it's comfortable, it's warm, it's the last remaining place where good things happen
we see the time and decide to hide
hide away in our beds
hide away in our dreams

Nothings wrong becomes your default response
but deep down you know you need help
but at the surface you convince yourself you are strong
strong enough to win a battle that you are in fact losing
so you hide
you hide the truth
your fears
all while tears run down your cheek
If you or someone you know suffers from depression, please seek professional help.

Missing
Craig Harrison Dec 2014
Love is when you are missing some of your teeth
but you're not afraid to smile
because you know your friends will still love you
even though part of you is missing

Love is when your hair is falling out
but you don't wear a wig
because you know your friends will still love you
even though part of you is missing

Love is when you lose your arms and legs
but you don't hide away
because you know your friends will still love you
even though part of you is missing

Love is when people accept you for who you are
and you can relax and breathe free
because that's what love is

Every year it comes
Craig Harrison Dec 2014
Every year it comes
every year it goes
we spend a fortune promoting it, getting ready for it and giving in to it
it's advertised everywhere
spoken by everyone.
It's contagious, it makes us ill
it makes us worry, it makes us aggressive
it makes us rush around like our lives depended on it.

But every year when it comes we love it
every year when it goes we miss it
we spend a fortune to give people a moment of happiness
smiles and laughter
It's advertised everywhere to remind us of the good times
everyone speaks of it because it is so important
it's contagious but gives us joy
we worry and get aggressive because we care so much we want to make that one person happy
we rush but when you see those people smile it's worth it.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone, stay safe and have fun

Final moments
Craig Harrison Dec 2014
Just a young boy growing up on the bad side of town
school was like a prison, bars up the window, cops searching you
everyone is in a gang, what is one supposed to do.
The teachers were scared, would never shout at kids
even the pigs who patted us down were scared
the teachers, the cops, the public to scared to say anything
maybe if they did I would still be alive today.

I was a young boy, I had big dreams
school was an escape from my home
I never joined a gang
I lived in fear all my life, trying not to hurt anyone or upset them.
I don't remember the final moments
just pain, so painful and so much blood.
I think I was shot by a passing car but I can't remember now.

The news said

10 year old boy gunned down near is home
Teachers said he was a clever child and will be missed
Parents were unavailable to comment

Don't be scared to do the right thing
like me you still might get killed
and nothing will still be changed.
Just something I wanted to share even if it isn't considered a poem.

(This as nothing to do with my life or anyone I knows life. it was written from the point of view of a random person who was born in the wrong area)

Definition of a hero

R.I.P
Tugce Albayrak

If you don't know the story of Tugce Albayrak, she was a 23yo German who stepped in to protect 2 teen girls from a group of men. Sadly one of the men attacked Tugce later that day in the Mcdonalds car park and she slipped into a coma, her life support was turned off on her 23rd birthday after recommendations by doctors.

Not only did Tugce save those 2 girls she also carried a donor card and her organs will go onto save even more people.

With so many superhero movies coming out recently, she might not have had special powers but she was special and also a hero.

Does snow love the trees and fields as it kisses them so gently?
It covers the Earth, nice and snug, with a think white quilt
as it whispers "Go to sleep, darlings, till spring comes"
It was magical, this snow globe world
as families came in out of the cold

Hair is gray and the fires burning
so many dreams on my shelf
the perfect Christmas
I always wanted that myself.

Stars are twinkling
Angels looking down
Green leaves wrapped in tinsel
trees are shinning so bright
family cheers through out the night.

This Christmas as you play in the snow
smile, laugh and be happy
your dreams may come true, you never know.

Does snow love the trees and fields as it kisses them so gently?
It covers the Earth, nice and snug, with a think white quilt
as it whispers "Go to sleep, darlings, till spring comes"
It was magical, this snow globe world

Meaning

What is life if not worth living
What is space if not worth filling
What of the emotions that we all feel
if they are not worth expressing
Are they not things that give us meaning

The air I breath
the food I eat
the water I drink
What are they worth if not worth sharing
Are they not things that give us life
and what is life if not worth living

The emotions we feel
our beliefs, our thoughts
our very essence of who we are
Are they not things that give us meaning

What is life if not worth living

Silence fell
Craig Harrison Nov 2014
As the clocks stopped and silence fell
it was like the world had come under a witches spell
silence gathered all corners of the world
no movement, no sound, no signs of life upon the ground
as I looked down upon the Earth
no signs of life, no movement, no sound.

Cities that once screamed so loud
had fallen silent like a perfect summers cloud
upon the Earth where their was so much movement
now existed no signs of life
no movement, no sound, no life upon the ground

The laughter's of children playing
the tears of loved ones saying their goodbyes
the barking of dogs and honking of horns
no longer existed upon the ground
no signs of life, no movement, no sound.

As the clocks stopped and silence fell
it was as if the world had come under a witches spell
but in fact the clouds were filled
metallic objects hitting the ground.
loud noises, flashes of light
causing cities that once screamed so loud
to now life under a mushroom cloud.

War had come, no one won
life was lost
no more laughter
no more tears
no more barking of dogs, no more honking of horns
life no longer existed upon the ground
no signs of life, no movement, no sound.
World War 3 wouldn't last very long, if all countries used Nuclear weapons we would all be dead in hours

Escape
Craig Harrison Oct 2014
It happened so fast
the blade slicing through my skin like butter.
It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would
but I had just taken painkillers, as many as I could.
The blood rushing out of my wrist like a fast paced river
my eyes beginning to get heavier,
I remember hearing voices outside
I couldn't tell who they belonged to, but they were shouting for me
"Open the door"

I was getting weaker with each passing second
a pool of blood began to form around me.
I closed my eyes, they were to heavy to keep open,
I remember taking a breath, and then I was gone.

As I felt myself leave my body
I saw so much of life flash before me like a hologram
seeing only the good times
the best times
as I watched my life play out I remember thinking where did it go wrong
I was once happy, cheerful.

Looking down at my lifeless body
as my family managed to kick the door down
wrapping my wrist
calling an ambulance
I just remember thinking where was this love when I was looking for it
Maybe not my best poem, and just to let you know this is not about me, although when I was younger I had considered it I never carried it through but I do know people that have tried, including my best friend.

If anyone reading this is considering suicide, please don't
although it may seem like there is no escape, there is, and the right people will help you find that escape. You are a special person and amazing, you are unique, beautiful, smart.

You may or may not believe in God
So to those who do believe remember God loves you
but to all of you remember I love you and you are brilliant.

Looking up at the sky
wondering!
Looking out to the horizon
wondering!
Looking at the mountains, the rivers, the seas
wondering!

What am I wondering?
"I'm not sure"
maybe I'm wondering
am I alone, are we alone
where are the stars, are they gone or just hidden
maybe I'm wondering
where it all went wrong
where did it go right
maybe I'm wondering
is it to late
can it be repaired
maybe I'm wondering
why we did what we did
why we waited so long

Eyes wide open
Trees, snow, blue seas
walking around
buildings, art, writings

Eyes closed shut
Ghosts, demons, evil
trying to sleep
death, horror, hell

What do you see
when your eyes are wide open
when your eyes are closed shut
This was inspired by things that I see during the day.

When I'm awake I see so much beauty, I see the trees outside my window, snow in the winter, leaves in the autumn, etc, but during the night when I close my eyes my mind begins to wonder and I see ghosts, demons and sometimes my representation of hell before I even begin to dream.. They don't scare me they intrigue me mainly, I wonder where the images came from, if they have meaning, it also makes me think about the afterlife if there is one.

Anyway thanks for reading

Hopes and dreams

it's time to stop living a fantasy
it's time to grow up
it's time to give up on my hopes and dreams.

As a child I was told it was cute
as teenager I was told to go for it
but as an adult I was told to give up.

Hopes and dreams make us who we are
they create change
Martin Luther King

Christopher Columbus
Neil Armstrong
these people, people like these
never gave up
they kept their hopes and dreams
Not my best work but the message is clear, never ever give up on your hopes and dreams.

Safe
Craig Harrison Oct 2014
As the rain came down like an ocean of water falling from the heavens
the wind blew like a million fans blowing in the same direction
I was wet, I was cold and I was struggling to make it pushing against the wind
looking up was hard but squinting my eyes I could see a few stars in the night sky
ahead of me I heard shouting and screaming
a group of people were attacking an older Gentleman
I questioned should I get involved
I feared I might be targeted
but I did the right thing, I got involved

5 people all young men started to surround me
pushing me trying to force me on the ground
punching and kicking
one of the attackers pulled out a knife
I feared for my life.

As I lay their on the ground as the wind began to ease off
but the rain continuing to come down with so much speed and force
I remember thinking one thing, at least the older Gentleman was safe
This turned out totally wrong and I don't even think it can be considered as a poem. I had the idea for this after some reports I had been reading the last few weeks it is totally fiction..

Although it turned out wrong I decided to uploaded because I had written it and wanted to share it.

As a man.. As a woman
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
for years I cared
for years I worried
sleepless nights wondering what you thought of me
as a man I was scared you'd judge me unfairly
hours a day at the gym
starving myself
hair implants
thousands of pounds spent on my body because I was scared
scared that I would be judged unfairly

for years I cared
for years I worried
sleepless nights wondering what you thought of me
as a woman I was scared you'd judge me unfairly
the cat calls
size 0 clothing
breast implants
bags of makeup
thousands of pounds spent on my body because I was scared
scared that I would be judged unfairly

As a man
As a woman
I was scared
I worried
I cared
what you thought of me
but I learned
I learned that as a man
I learned that as a woman
I didn't need to worry
I don't live on this planet to make you happy
I live here to make myself happy
So as a man, as a woman
I'm no longer scared
no longer worried
I only care what I think of me

do you see a different world or the same one your grandparents lived in.
When you breath in the air
drink the water
eat the food
do you feel a difference do you sense the damaged world

The planet is old
we are young
but we attack it like it's a threat to us
it gave life, so much life
it continues to give
maybe younger generations
the young people old people moan about
can fix the world, can fix the problems created
previous generations tried destroying things
maybe younger generations will be able to repair them

O.N.S
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
Lying there in someones bed
wondering who this person was next to me
long black hair, smudges of red lipstick
****** piercings and tattoos
who had I slept with?

Quietly and quickly looking for my things
as I reached for my phone
alarm bells rang
she awoke looking straight at me,
what to say, what to do.

We mutually agreed it was a one night thing
got dressed and went our separate ways.
2 weeks later, watching the clock count down
waiting to go home
I felt a gush of wind hit my face
a tingly feeling in my stomach
standing in the door, their she was
my next and final appointment
my one night stand from 2 weeks earlier.

We talked, laughed, joked
had drinks, ate, caught a cab
morning after lying there in someones bed
knowing exactly where I was and who was next to me.
While I reached for my phone, alarm bells rang
she awoke looking straight at me
we mutually agreed that we was going to give it a go
she my girlfriend
me her boyfriend

Unnoticed but finally seen
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
He didn't need to die to be a ghost
for years he walked these hallways, going unnoticed
he was like a blur to those who passed him
teachers couldn't remember him
No parents to speak of, one day they just never came back.

Average student, never pushing himself
never showing up on anybody's radar
going unnoticed, going unseen
no friends to speak of, no one knew he existed

He was surrounded by hundreds of people
but lived his life not seen
no one saw his tears
no one saw his art
he went unnoticed until the day he died.

Police found him
he couldn't take it anymore
ended it all
he spent his life unnoticed
but he was a brilliant artist
his art was seen
hanging up in some amazing galleries
everyone now knows his name.

Then one day
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
Then one day something happens
our eyes meet, complete sentences teleported from mind to mind
time slows down, seconds feel like hours
lost in each others gaze, imagining our futures.

For a week that started so bad
ending so great
standing on the beach
sun beginning to set
calm sea washing our feet
guitar playing
we looked into each others eyes and started kissing
stars shining so bright
as we slowly pull away
I see a twinkle in your eye.
Our hearts beating so fast
locked in each others gaze
I just wish this moment could last.

Story
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
This is a story, the story of how I died.

I was attacked
everything went black, not sure how long I was out
woke up but surrounded by complete darkness
hot, hard to breath
couldn't move.
I remember I was panicking, struggling, not keeping still
something hit my face, grainy
felt like sand.
It dawned on me, I was buried alive
I couldn't stop screaming, I couldn't think clearly
maybe if I did I'd still be alive.
I found it harder and harder to breath
constant panic
I just remember thinking, why?
I've never hurt anyone
I'm about to die, tears poring down the side of my face
why me?

It's hard to explain what waiting to die feels like
but at the time I felt
Hope that I'd be rescued
Anger
Sadness
I could feel my eyes getting heavy
I was falling away
like trying to stay awake when you're falling asleep
it was a losing battle.

I finally took my final breath
one remaining thought
I will tell my story but so many will never get to tell theirs
my eyes closed, my brain shut down, and my spirit left
I had died
All over the world people die every second of every day and they never get found we never find out what happened to them. Give thought to those that are missing and not found

Forever I've dreamed
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
Forever I've dreamed
today those dreams came true
I never gave up, always wishing and hoping
and now I'm their.

7 continents and I will travel them all
businesses and I will own many
Forever I've dreamed
today those dreams came true
Tickets booked, hotel room reserved
USA here I come
One dream all my life, to move to L.A
I've waited so long, forever I've dreamed
no more dreams only reality
Sadly this poem is still only a dream but one that I still have hope will come true... The purpose of writing this is to help me hold on to that hope

United we can
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
It's always been a problem
but one most of us ignore
we never think it would happen to us
or to anyone we know
we always think we're smarter than that
but what would happen if you became homeless

We see these people on the streets
outside shops, around town
most of us ignore them
as individuals we can not help eliminate homelessness
but united we can
It's said that it would cost over $20billion to eliminate homelessness in the USA, to eliminate it world wide it would cost a hell of a lot more but it's something worth eliminating... The top 10 richest people in the world are worth over $500billion and that's only the top 10.. As I said as individuals we can't eliminate homelessness but united we can..

A spark of potential
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
Once upon a time their was nothing
only darkness, no stars, no planets, no life.
One day something changed
a spark that caused an explosion
more powerful than all of Earths weapons combined.

In that moment that very short moment
the universe went from nothing to everything
the greatest masterpiece, the greatest art show ever
in the space of a second, the universe was full of potential

Potential for life, for music, for creativity
potential for so much
we owe our existence to that tiny spark that caused an explosion
that caused us.
A spark of potential

3000
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
In the year 3000
will we still be here
living on land
or below the sea.
Will we have
driver-less cars
robot people
a colonised Mars
where will we be
in the year 3000

Crazy
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
It's crazy
I try to pull away
but I don't seem able
I promise myself no more
but when I see you I forget about everything
It's crazy

Sometimes were like a river
constantly traveling in one direction
other times
it's like a tug of war
trying to pull away
I promise myself no more
but when I see you I forget about everything
It's crazy

I don't know how
but you some how creep into my mind
I only have to close my eyes
and you appear
I try to pull away
but I don't seem able
It's crazy

Nothing Wrong
Craig Harrison Aug 2014
From a distance they looked like shooting stars
but to us we knew what they really were
some enemy decided to attack
launching bombs from their fortresses while we are left to burn
all around us explosions
destroying schools, hospitals and homes
we've never done anything to this enemy
yet they try to end our lives.

Morning had come with a horrible smell
burning buildings for miles
thousands had died last night
more will die tonight
we're pleading for help
but no one is listening
we did nothing wrong to this enemy
why are we the ones left to die
Written from the point of view of a person that is in a war torn country
