Seán Mac Falls
Sloe black Guinness seeps,
Raven eye conjured in glass—
  .  .  .  Frothy and gorgeous!

In a swagger of swirl bones begin,
Bold artist looks back on kept time,
Fierce eyes fencing out from a pen,
So much soul reels unto scrim lines.

Willow tree, billows—
Long leaves falling as water,
.  .  .  falls into water.

Seán Mac Falls
Rain, softly falls in old deer valley,
All the woodlands swimming underneath
The steaming fog.  What peaceful sound
I hear, softly rings out of the sparkling
Woods and meadows, chimes like a thousand
Sleepy bells announcing the rising sun,
Who sings loudest, after the rains.

Softness in the gorse—
We walked drenching in the sun,
  .  .  .  Lost in yellow fields.
In Gaelic, the colour yellow (buidhe) is often used as a positive emphasis symbolizing happiness, luck or beauty. A person who is “pretty, yellow” (brèagha, buidhe) is very pretty indeed, and the phrase “I am yellow” (tha mi buidhe) means that one is well, happy or satisfied.

Gone are my friends,
The red panda, is now sleeping,
The snow monkeys have moved
Lower, down on white mountain
And the trees have disrobed for bed,
I walk through the snow and hear
The icicles growing in the wind,
Around the bend I meet a new friend,
A shining, secret waterfall.

Muffled wings implode landing,
Lawn littered with birds.

All numbers prime— hues,
Whole world but flowers blooming,
Clear hummingbirds eye.

Fresh days on beaches,
Sand writ words of betrothals,
Tides washed them away.

Seán Mac Falls
River, snow melt marches,
Tiny leaves, soft bells, bears early—
No salmon running.

Seán Mac Falls
Hazel tree, long breeze,
Young tendril branches stretching,
Woman combing hair.

Seán Mac Falls
A cloud from heaven,
One swan on a lonesome lake,
   .  .  .  All that ever falls.

Always in hurry,
One day— in circle of cat,
Only pause mouse takes.
