requires a fierce love of and hunger for... truth. But truth or truths--especially socially "unpalatable" truths--must be spoken at the right time & place.
Pure poetic truth is born of the fire of experience which is cast higher & higher through time, not unlike the rope trick of the Hindu fakir; except the only "trick" pure poetic truth performs is keeping the truth in context by often sandblasting untruths and half-truths from the mind and spirit. Pure poetry is an art-- not one of deceit but enlightenment -- which not only sets the poet free from fallacy and deceit, but can genuinely aid in setting the reader free, if they are truly hungering and thirsting for inner freedom and peace, where true freedom and peace begins, but cannot grow outward until we plant the seeds.
