Concealed Carry can sometimes cause
More problems then its worth
If every time that you need
You always use it first

You're not supposed to stop and think
Of the fear that you may have
The pain that's caused by others
Is simply not allowed to last

Concealed Carry is hard to hide
When it always stays with you
It becomes the thing that you use most
When you dont know what to do

Concealed Carry might just be
The worst thing you can use
You should always try to talk things out
And do whats best for you

When you Conceal Carry feelings
And do not set them free
They become the worst of weapons
And can drop you to your knees

Concealed Carry can sometimes cause
More problems then its worth
If every time that you need
You always use it first

Im a cop so no gun fanatics about our rights to carry. I carry and I believe you have the same right as long as we all abide by the same laws there should be no problem. Its the crazy ones who carry that worry me but i hope that I or a fellow conceal carry will be there if that were to happen. Ok, my rant is over and my poem was not about any of that I just didnt want to get the hate mail from the far right. Im right in the middle on most issues.

(Reverse Poem)
(Forward and Backward)

Formed by passion and sometimes bold
My poems they come from my soul
It is not my intention to offend
Just opinions and we all have them
I will delete words of hate
Choose your words and we can debate
Just message me and its okay
If you dont like what I say
Do not think your words can harm
I have been around way to long
No need to message and threaten me
I will not change to meet your needs
If you dont like just move on
These poems I write are mine alone
I have a right to feel this way
Though you may not like what I say
Formed by passion and sometimes bold
My poems they come from my soul
It is not my intention to offend
Just opinions and we all have them

(Now Read It Backwards)

Another poet challenged me to write a reverse poem that can be read both frontward and backword. This is my attempt and it is harder then you may think.

My New Found Fashion Trend

You know I never really understood
Why they wear their pants that way
Pull them down to their knees
And walk around all day

But they say it is the fashion
It's a new trend I should try
That underwear is very cool
And catches people's eyes

So I decided I should try it
I pulled my pants down way to far
Then to show the world how hip I was
I walked through Central Park

All the Children were excited
I saw them point my way
They even told their teacher
But she made them look the other way

Well then two cops they came running
I assumed to see my style
I thought my trend was catching on
But those cops they didn't smile

Those cops would start a new trend
One I didn't like as much
They put my hands behind my back
And slapped on silver cuffs

Now this jail cell seems so small
With this big man next to me
He says he'll be my best friend
And he likes just what he sees

So glad to see this courtroom
Filled with people from the streets
They yell rethink your fashion trend
If you're wearing a G-String

Well the Judge he was not happy
But he would not give me time
He said wear a G-String where you want
No one can take that right

You see the Judge he wore a G-String
Underneath his long black robe
Since he did not find me guilty
A free man I could go

So I walked outside that courtroom
As a free man once again
And became so very famous
For my New Found Fashion Trend

Change The Inner You

When you look back at your life
If you don't like the view
Then you must look within yourself
And change the inner you

Change the way you see yourself
With all the things you do
Give yourself a different look
A different point of view

Show a side that's seldom seen
And allow for something new
Create your own reflection
And do it just for you

It is only when you're honest
With what you see inside
That you create the image
Of what's seen within your eyes

When you look back at your life
If you don't like the view
Then you must look within yourself
And change the inner you

I Give You My Word
-
Listen closely to what someone says
Then wait for what they do
For its only then that you will know
If the words they say are true

Give to them a chance to shine
And let them find their way
But hold them to their promises
Make them keep the words they say

Know that trust is not just given
That sometimes it must be earned
For a promise once it's broken
Make a person just feel burned

You can sit back and be quiet
Not let your voice be heard
But if you do then dont complain
When you get what you deserve

Listen closely to what someone says
Then wait for what they do
For it's only then that you will know
If the words they say are true

The Ride Of Your Life

It begins as you are just a child
As you wait each year to grow
You watch as others go there first
Then you reach your stepping stone

They say there's rules to this ride
And try to lock you in your place
You begin your uphill journey
With a smile upon your face

You go slowly up a long steep hill
As you enjoy the scenic view
Then you rest a moment at the top
As time stands still for you

You crest the hill and begin to fall
Heart beating in your chest
The bottom comes so very fast
But your rides not over yet

You hit that curve you dont expect
And you hang on for your life
It throws you through a loopty loop
Then it rights you just in time

A few more hills and one last turn
Then a slow unwanted stop
You're happy that you took life's ride
But Lifes ride's not long enough

Carl Joseph Roberts
The story of life with many ups and downs.
At times it throws you curves and send you spinning.
In the end like any good ride, im guessing,  you're going to want to do it all again.
Enjoy lifes ride you only get one.

A parents job is always tough there are no guarantees

There Are No Guarantees

Sometimes no matter what we do
It is still there life to lead
Outcomes for the choices made
Cannot be guaranteed

Experience may just speak the truth
Still sometimes they will not hear
You hope one day they'll understand
And know that you've been there

Sometimes it matters what you say
Your actions play a part
The outcomes for a life well lived
You hope they take to heart

You need to see they understand
The true love you feel inside
Learn life lessons without regret
So they need never hide

Still sometimes no matter what we do
It is still their life to lead
A parents job is always tough
There are no guarantees

Second Chances

If I were given a second chance
I Know what I would do
I'd take that chance and use it
To fall in love with you

I would somehow show you how I feel
And let you see inside
Not leave my feelings bottled up
My love I would not hide

I would give to you all I have
And allow for something new
Create that special moment
Known only by a few

If  I were given a second chance
I know what I will do
I would take that chance and use it
To fall in love with you

R Guildenstern
I seek divine inspiration
yet I remain stuck with tempered cognatation

Stuck,with desperation and mutilation

By the limitations of human beings, who seek no liberation

Then lay me down to rest,

For already I feel the linger of death's breath upon me
as my humble skin convulses

Soak me then I say,in your hemlock waters
that I too may feel the numb of ordinary
That I may too be baptized by filth and reborn into the realm of acceptance
where i may be seated beside my father, like him before me

Together, to **** the living breath from the lips of our mother nature
as the door closes behind me

Watch me as I fall from here
I do not wish to speak of such misfortunes
unfortunately other options have quickly began shortening
their obvious attempt for what can be logical decision
such incision with a knife also a master of the fiddle
fear me not the sky is lightened
now the dark began to set
How I wish it were to echo,
as the moon was put to bed

Yet my life has become  ill gotten,
a thorn of crown upon my head,
yet my troubles seem so meager
then those of mice unlike us men
Gently weep into the silence
go forth brother hear your cry
may the sightly wind be with you
guide it deep into the sky
cause of thunder and then lighting
limit those who fear the sound
hear them weeping at the door step
as if the cat had made a sound
