Part I

It sparkles on their cheeks
The cheeks of the Fairies dear
They are always beautiful
Their cheeks sparkle with glitter
And they are forever happy
They are a lot like my big sister
And they have wings of silk as well
Their hair is curly
And their lips are cherry
Their pretty wings
Flutter in the breeze
And the swirls on them
Are made of golden glitter

For my little Fairy
The one with the daintiest wings
Of sheer gossamer
And the one with hair of satin blonde
And with the prettiest blue eyes ever
I am sorry if I ever hurt you
I am deeply sorry
I love you
My friend who's a F.A.I.R.Y!!!

So the Fairies dance around your bed so
You are tender-hearted, big hearted you
Go dance around his bed, Fairies please go
Blue skies. . . you cheer me up when I am blue
Dance around his bed, Fairies, please go dance
Sing to him in his bedroom, Fairies sing
Dance with him around his bed, Fairies dance
Ring. . . you voices ring in the Fairy ring
Pour. . . the tears of Heaven upon him pour
Love him. . . it is him I so dearly love
Sore. . . you healed my heart so now it's not sore
Above. . . God sent you down from up above
So it is you I tenderly love so
No. . . you'll ne'er know how much I love you. . .no

I think I saw the moon tonight
Ivory, aglow
Alive and bright, reflecting light
Shone through my open window

I think I felt the moon tonight
With my fingertips just so
I brushed against her dusty cheek
And whispered a meek “Hello”

I think I heard the moon tonight
Voice lighter than a feather
She shared the folklore of the faeries
Who danced amongst the heather

I traveled with the moon tonight
From Berkley to Milan
She showed me the most gorgeous sights
Beyond imagination

I danced around the moon tonight
To melodies of yore
I felt so happy and carefree
I hadn’t heretofore.

I slept upon the moon tonight
She lulled me to a sopor
She lay me back in my warm bed
And tucked me in the covers.

Happily she flounces
and bounces
on the ground in
her lemongrass-hued
dress of whatnots

Way back when
The worries of the world
Were nonexistent
She ruled the forests
The toadstool wonders

She never thinks
of sadness or misery as
she performs her silhouetted
pirouette
for the birds

And as she flies
Above the trees she thinks
to herself
It will be like this
forever
