if you think that i don't love you?
well then, i'll write a poem for you,
scrawl it on the walls for you,
and cast it out to sea.
i'll sing it to the corners for you,
wrap it round the world for you,
i'll tie it to the sails for you,
and cast it out to sea.
i'll breathe it through your lungs for you,
hold it to your heart for you,
i'll try to find the words for you,
and cast them out to sea.

i'll write it on the walls for you,
i'll wrap it round the world for you,
i'll breathe it through your lungs for you,

we'll cast it out to sea.

a cigarette is a peculiar thing
it takes me to a different place
with every frail breath I take

I see my mother on the porch
a pack of Camels in her hand
the hand I longed to hold

I see you standing in the rain
a glowing ember near your mouth
the mouth that I longed to claim

I see him leaning against the wind
a Spirit in his hand and his heart on his sleeve
a heart that I longed to understand

I see her gazing out my window
the lighter illuminating her fragile bones
bones that I longed to trace

a cigarette is a peculiar thing

Charles Bukowski
It's never quite right, he said, the way people look,
the way the music sounds, the way the words are
written.
It's never quite right, he said, all the things we are
taught, all the loves we chase, all the deaths we
die, all the lives we live,
they are never quite right,
they are hardly close to right,
these lives we live
one after the other,
piled there as history,
the waste of the species,
the crushing of the light and the way,
it's not quite right,
it's hardly right at all
he said.

don't I know it? I
answered.

I walked away from the mirror.
it was morning, it was afternoon, it was
night

nothing changed
it was locked in place.
something flashed, something broke, something
remained.

I walked down the stairway and
into it.

In high school,
Everyone used to compliment me
On my smile, and good looks,
But, you possess a beauty that surpasses all others.
I stand in awe at the beauty of
Your mind, and body,
But more so than these insignificant things
I see your beauty
In your actions.
I want this to be clear,
So there is no doubt,
From here on out.
I love you, in all your magnificent beauty,
And I need you to know
You are the only one for me.
I could find fortune,
And a life of luxury, and ease
If I had chosen differently.
But, then I would lose your beauty,
And no riches on this earth
Would be worth losing a spirit
As beautiful as yours.
I know a woman shouldn't call a man beautiful, but the things you do for me...Beautiful is the only word that fits.

Senor Negativo
Fingers interlaced,
Lips chained together,
Bodies bound
In a tangle of limbs.
Back from the future,
Face to face with the past,
Present tense exists and lasts.
You stop all the clocks with your stare,
I look into your eyes, and see eternity there.
I know that this need will never end,
We can see around the bend.
The time I spend with you is
Timeless.

Pablo Neruda
Drunk as drunk on turpentine
From your open kisses,
Your wet body wedged
Between my wet body and the strake
Of our boat that is made of flowers,
Feasted, we guide it - our fingers
Like tallows adorned with yellow metal -
Over the sky's hot rim,
The day's last breath in our sails.

Pinned by the sun between solstice
And equinox, drowsy and tangled together
We drifted for months and woke
With the bitter taste of land on our lips,
Eyelids all sticky, and we longed for lime
And the sound of a rope
Lowering a bucket down its well. Then,
We came by night to the Fortunate Isles,
And lay like fish
Under the net of our kisses.

kiss me on the cheek,
hand me your cigarette,
park on the grass,
kiss em and **** em
love em and leave em.
fill my lungs with the smoke of euphoria,
fill my mind with the thoughts of nothing,
nothing at all,
nothing important.
fill my heart with your heart,
with your voice,
your strumming, drumming and bumming.
i may lose my mind, but my heart is in whole.
