Those moments in time
When the mind and heart create
A happy ending
Chris Jun 2015

A cottage
at the end of the path,
between maple trees and evergreens,
a front porch, weathered boards,
memories in the grain,
summers by the lake,
green converse allstars,
monopoly into the wee hours of the morning,
pancakes and bacon mornings,
red ginham table cloths,
chasing fireflies, sparklers,
hot dogs on the grille,
spitting watermelon seeds, sticky chins...
a cottage, memories,
and now we make our own,
hand in hand as love
once again sits on the porch,
counting stars and drinking lemonade,
you and me and a cottage
at the end of a path...

Good night beautiful

Pink lilies bloom
behind the cabin
greeting the sunrise
with smiles and giggles
Spider webs draped
between feather nest
branches glisten against
an emerald leaf backdrop
Butterflies awaken
yawning morning glories
with two step tickles
and stained glass kisses,
as I lie here next to you,
watching you sleep,
enjoying the most
*beautiful part of my day

If ever a notion
has tickled the air
swept over clouds
destined to share

Captured a breeze
traveling far
soared past the moon
neath every star

Above the hills
valleys below
whispering words
caught in the flow

Touching the trees
firefly dreams
twilight endearment
magical themes

It is the thought
in this poem I write
sending my love
*to you on this night
Good night Beautiful

I carved your name
in a heart,

it was my heart...

I hope the scar
*is permanent

...

Why, when the world sleeps
do the young starlings fly,
black wings on a moonless night
challenging winds of southern flow,
fighting urges forced by
internal compass points
to land where it is low
and voices creep from behind
misted shuttered windows,
murmuring moans
and tethered breaths,
fingered flesh in candle flame,
longing scraps to fill their bellies
for hunger persists
even in the throes of love,
and they wait on silent branches,
crooked beams of support
wanting merely a taste…just one taste
