We're standing in the cold, rainy silence
when he opens and closes the door without a sound
and stands on the foot brush behind me
leaning against the garbage can
that always seems to have a backpack behind it.
Without a smile or a hint that he's going to speak
he says,"sup" in a fading, worried tone
speaking to me but looking away.
she takes three steps and wraps her arms around him
smiling at me over his shoulder as if to say- something,
I'm not sure what.
but I smile back, and take a few steps backward
in an attempt to be there, but only on the fringe.
A small circle forms around them,
nobody speaking for a few minutes
and then everybody splits into their own conversations
except me
and as soon as the bell rings, we all walk off
they find each other again and walk together
and I smile for her.
She was like my sister once, for just a second
Love is as strong as diamond,
Traveling over distance and time.
Experiencing such emotion,
Through the tears and the pain,
Lives a strength inside each of us.

We started shy, yet we grew.
The summer heat shining down,
Reminding us time was few.
Cherishing the moments we had,
Love wrapped its arms around us.

The day came, when he had to leave.
Duty called his handsome soul.
I was left behind, but not gone,
I had a commitment to uphold.
To stand behind the man I love.

Love is as strong as a diamond,
Traveling over distance and time.
Even when the pain of being away struck,
The strength of our love kept us true.
Whatever souls are made of, ours are the same.
Stop, for just one moment
Think about your script
Cup your ear, listen, can you hear anything
Apart from your heart beating...
Your breathing

Listen once more
Do you hear the heart of another

If someone offers you a curved ball in disguise
Would you try to catch it?
Pushing your limits for all you're worth
Or let it fall to the ground
As you walk away...?

Catch your breath, cradling it in your hands
Before it's your last
It happens fast, before your
Next breath of regret...
Make it right

Swallow hard
Does it really matter if you're wrong?
To be honest with ourselves stands tall
If we push it aside where will it leave us?
Colliding into the path of no return

Late is the hour
The nights draw in to comfort
For others, well, they're left out in the cold
The turkey and tinsel a warning
Of lonliness on the horizon

I knocked on the door
Waited, yet no one answered
Pride wedges in the gut
Swelling its belly ache
Sick to the stomach

Vulnerability sat on my shoulder
Without regret, I have been honest
Torn, to reveal my truth
If I was asked, would I repeat the same
Mistake, the mistake of honesty?

YES...by no means an error

Clear is my mirror when I look into it
It can hurt like hell
But it springs pure and genuine

Some love to watch the sea bushes appearing at dawn,
To see night fall from the goose wings, and to hear
The conversations the night sea has with the dawn.

If we can't find Heaven, there are always bluejays.
Now you know why I spent my twenties crying.
Cries are required from those who wake disturbed at dawn.

Adam was called in to name the Red-Winged
Blackbirds, the Diamond Rattlers, and the Ring-Tailed
Raccoons washing God in the streams at dawn.

Centuries later, the Mesopotamian gods,
All curls and ears, showed up; behind them the Generals
With their blue-coated sons who will die at dawn.

Those grasshopper-eating hermits were so good
To stay all day in the cave; but it is also sweet
To see the fenceposts gradually appear at dawn.

People in love with the setting stars are right
To adore the baby who smells of the stable, but we know
That even the setting stars will disappear at dawn.
I have a curled photograph
With waves that crest behind you
And your hair, golden veins,
Tangled in the sun that caves,
There you sit— my open secret,
Atlantic,
Frees my wrested heart
At the fortress—
Altar,
Dún Aengus.

In that place, that wanting place,
High— on the jagged edge
I captured you,
Your eyes were ocean,
Atlantis,
Never so deep, never so
Lost.
Inishmore (Irish: Árainn Mhór or Inis Mór) is the largest of the Aran Islands in Galway Bay in Ireland. The island is famous for its strong Irish culture, loyalty to the Irish language, and a wealth of Pre-Christian and Christian ancient sites including Dún Aengus.

we don't hug goodnight anymore
we don't talk about the real stuff anymore
we don't laugh as much anymore
we don't touch as much anymore
we don't look at each other anymore
we don't depend on each other anymore
we don't act the same anymore.

and thats okay,
but i miss it.
You're not hard to love
But not easy to forget,
Moments here and there
Minutes and hours everywhere,
The dust of you will gather
When you step away,
And for once I won't clean
I'll remember everything,
Let the cobwebs gather
Let the rot eat through,
And as I fade away
I'll regret this one,
Heart of my soul
Spirit of my flesh,
The one that was simply
You and only you,
Will be the last
To occupy my life,
Run don't walk
So I don't think
Too ******* your linger
The sooner I can lie
To myself that you were
Only magic of my mind
A trick of my eyes
Deception of myself,
It cannot be broken
That which I already did,
Left the pieces for me
To follow back,
Before you ever came
So that I could,
Make believe
I don't remember,
The details of your face
As I say goodbye to your shadow,
Sweet friend of yesterday
Bitter enemy of tomorrow...
