Yes..Lethe
the river of forgetfulness
from the land of myth..
Today it is a
poetic name for our
forgetfulness at birth
with a life-long wish
to remember our
inner teacher..
We may have
many teachers which
help and hinder..
unpredictable
the effect of either..
We await
an experience simple
which clears final brush
and we remember
the teacher long hidden
in our forgetfulness...

of course..follows the inhale
but..if observed carefully
seems to represent a departure
from a transcendent inhale
and an experience of variation
inclusive of..everything..
this is the moment of creative
possibility..with the light
of the inhale illuminating the
ordinary..in shining paradox:
the inhale experienced as
exhale...!

Is
The great liberation
The Recognition of the
Overlooked admission
I don't know..
It is the answer
A darkened glass
Stained with confusion
Being wiped clean
Our image uncovered...

religion is a garment
is it not..?
although its roots
may lie deep in memory
it is wearable today..
as I see it
very often the
garment gains import
and that which houses
diminishes in scale..
in other words
religion only flourishes
when its housing
shines with knowing
that all garments
can only express
what shines within..

This..our true Lens
Has been shaded by
Life-long beliefs and
conditioning..
A lens of separation
Depicting subject and object
Whole and parts
Good and bad
Seems to be our perception..

In pockets of history
There are those who
Have always known the
Availability of the Lens
But most of us..alas
Have not inquired
On how this Lens
Might be recognized..

We are cautioned that
Such Recognition is the
Only path to Freedom...

the vast blue sky stands
as the consciousness-only model
the model of truth we seek..
we have arrived after
many long centuries in which
other points of view have sustained
civilizations..their rise and fall..

the model of materialism has
dominated science and thought
reaching impressive heights..yet
intuitions are venturing questions
of blue appearances in the clouds
clouds of words and
models outworn..

like a small airplane looking
for a hole to punch through
and sail to a destined port..
the clouds are the habits of
centuries which impede the
recognition of truth..
fearful of the vast blue
we allow cloud covering
to delay the day
of plunging into truth...

we need only understand
that reality consists only of
consciousness and vibrations..
and that the above sentence
is most inaccurate..
vibrations are not separate
from consciousness..
but are within..known by..
and made of consciousness..
vibration is experience
the activity of consciousness
nothing more..nothing less...

magic tricks have always delighted
and an explanation awaited..
but now
with a consciousness perspective
a new understanding arrives..
non-locality is the norm
locality: simply a temporary coloring
of the all-encompassing non-..
oneness and synchronicities pervade
as have always pervaded
but for our limited visions..
so..magic now may be known
as the experience expected
in the reality now realized
as home...

The belief in separation

Creates hierarchies..

Considered necessary for

Measured accomplishment..

Seems so..but let's inquire..  

Without that weighty belief

Might accomplishment simply

Happen..with appearances of

Separation..creating in full

Recognition of Freedom...?

history has assumed
time and space
houses the past..
the activities examined
in unending research..

this assumption
is a mind construct
a self-imposed limitation
hiding a fuller and fruitful
truth..

history is dawning
as temporary shaping of
Awareness just now..
bypassing at last
that assumed confinement
in time and space..

history is upending...!

In this year of

Virus and chaos

We have arrived at

This Thursday for Thanks..

The outward turn

Of daily attention

Has immersed us and

Grayed inner vision..

So perhaps this Thursday

We might pause to reveal

Our inner Light of

Thankful  Thursday...

Polarities
Determine our identity
In each simple moment..
I am a polarity..is where we start..
The inners and outers
Of our self and world..
Polarities abound..and any set
Of opposites convinces as
Our personal view..until
We discover these are merely
Actors appearing on our
Stage of Light...

Creation happens
when the words
come from Silence
and the poet
recognizes
her words express
the Silence
from which they
spring...

It is a simple language
of pointing images:
similarity pointing to unity
difference pointing to multiplicity..
similarity to realization
difference to hiddenness
similarity to creating
difference to creation
similarity to permanence
difference to temporary..
these teachings
for our eventual discovery
of peace and joy:
there is only unity
wearing the infinite colors
and forms
of multiplicity...

is creation itself
a rising in and of
consciousness..
a simultaneous birth of
a 2-sided coin:
subject/object
in thought and perception..
the birth is convincing
in its colors and boundaries
appearing as both
savory and unsavory..
along with the birth
comes ego's desire for
the happiness
which once it knew..
questions are a threat
and its defenses
most militant..
fears and desires
conceal real happiness
retaining that coin
of unhappiness...

A walking experience
Of apparent pleasant
Happenings of morning..
The scurrying squirrel
The couple with dog
Tree shadows with sun..
The "I Am" of which
We are vibrates this way
And that...

Is derived from Love..

Love appearing as hope..

And when hope falters

The appearance may end..yet

Love remains...


1st Corinthians 13: 13..
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Attraction and attachment

Hooked and holding..

Many momentary "highs"

Of Likes..Loves..Wows..

But of short duration as

Thirst returns seeking for

More highs..finding instead

Those confining pains..

Allowing others to define

Who we are..is the basic

Sin of social media..

We are tangled in a

Hidden matrix..with many

Not locating the simple exit:

Asking the perennial questions

Perhaps..Who am I..??...

it is a
matter of belief
a religious persuasion
that the conversion
was a miracle
unquestioned..
marking a tribe..

might we find
an expression of
this astonishing story
for a more universal
understanding..

to his mother
he was direct:
that his hour had
not yet come..
how we ask is
this related to
the rest of the story..

water
stands forth as our
essence divine..
wine
for all experience
for lives seeming
to be separate..
the Cana conversion
calmly asserts: wine
is made of water..

a new hour
will know suffering
born of fear and desire
a forgetting of Cana..
wine is resurrected
recognized as water
our essence clarified
as a miracle unveils...

When we discover the Reality of Appearances..we have

Awakened in our journey..The dream state of separation

Finds these same appearances as standing alone..as solid..

And convincing in their forthright presentation.. Dreaming

Separation is the backdrop of the story on which we..as

Characters..play our roles.. in days of joy and sorrow..

When the discovery is made.. the Reality of Appearances..

Who is awakened..?  Our Real Self has awakened our

Real Self ..with  Appearances..Now blessedly known

As fleeting..and joyous..Self-Attire...

Perhaps there are types..
inventions of mousetraps that
catch with compassion..
celebrating the inventiveness
of the finite mind..

but what of those appearances
of brushstrokes or words
which seem from afar..
as from the whiteness of
this page..
or the sudden juxtaposing
of nature's dissimilarities..

those sudden types
seem available to all..
do not depend on our
diligent preparation in
schooling or craft..
or culture or beliefs
but only upon a
recognition of ourselves
without  the opaqueness
of a masking resistance...

it lies at the core of each of us..
the root..is the appearance of
fundamental separation arriving
soon after birth
and continuing strongly..or weakly..
in life..until it doesn't..
ego is the modern name given to
this primal experience which
is a necessity for health and growth..
ego reality is that of the body
as observer of that outer world..
which is our cultural consensus
our view of things..most of us seem to
live and die in this unquestioned
consensus of who we are..
ego unleashed can become more than
positive personal identity..a tool for
a unique self engaging a troubled world..
the ego can compound the suffering of
separation..reaching for any means
to end the suffering..which increases
our dangers..dangers to self and others..
the only solution and remedy
lies close at hand..yet distant it seems
in our consensus reality..
we must identify the ego's reality
as insufficient for a life well lived
and recognize that it simply veils
something much more:
an identity unbounded and filled
with  peace and grace...

There is no Charles

There is no (insert your name)..

In non-dual discourse

We hear these assertions..

Makes no sense

To the ordinary Joe..

But..perhaps Joe knows

There is no Joe..!

This is the revolution

Underway..in many

Quiet corners of our

Globe..we are stimulated

In our shadows..to awaken

To Who we are...!

Grace
is the substance of
All that is
In our tendency
To see separation in
All that is
Grace appears as
Suffering
Coaxing  a new
Seeing...

Democracy..

This hidden diamond

In our culture..is

Buried by layers of

Distrustful hedging..

Constitutions and governments

Are molded with trappings to

Protect from a fearful notion..

History gains glimpses..yet

The diamond hides

Until one day

(Right Now for some..)

The diamond's gift is

Freedom exposed...!

living as a character
in the play of life..and
not believing
there is only the play..
this seems the journey
each of us takes
whether liking or no..
as  character..we limit
and suffer separation..
when not believing
we enter a frightening ride
an abyss of not-knowing
fear..edged in freedom..
what is Arrival..?
knowing we appear
as suffering character
free-falling in a sky
of peace and joy...

Regrets in this life

Transport us outward

And mark a duration

To some remembered place..

Yet there is a tension

Accompanying

To turn us once more with

A relieving recognition:

LIFE being life...

As the crow flies

This black being
A gas station appearance
Intersection traffic
Horns and lights
Sunset shortly
Walking on stones..
Ignoring noisy polluted
Starts and stops..
A stoic warrior
In our time of
Desperate seeking..

Then he flew
As sunlight waned..
Wishing his
Transcendence...

The hour is striking so close above me,
so clear and sharp,
that all my senses ring with it.
I feel it now: there’s a power in me
to grasp and give shape to my world.

All becoming has needed me.

Where does thought come from..?
Seeming to arise out of thin air
and in our lives as
subject with object..
A nuisance sometimes
in meditation and 
interference with our sleep..
As we give thought
an identity and authority
we create a tyranny  
most difficult to overthrow..
Backing off..we notice
thoughts are alive in
time and space
but do not survive
in the presence of now..
Why?..presence is open and free
not knowing of constricting
time and space..
And joyously..we are always
that presence..awaiting
recognition..and a 
good night's sleep...!

Abound..war and dysfunction

Also abound..However..in

Oneness..without an other..

Judging not..IS

Simultaneously

Not being judged..

This invitation to

Awaken...

is a name sometimes
said to fall to a person
suffering from illusion..
an unfortunate
misapprehension..!
a person whose name
is Maya
knows the illusory nature
of multiple appearances which
are produced by our powers of
conception and perception..
knows the veiling of her Self
by those asserting appearances..
knows these appearances
do not have a
life of their own..

Maya Knows...!

beginnings
and endings
mark our momentary
thoughts and perceptions..
passing through
we observe these
temporary visitations..

but who among us
asks of the medium
for these passages.?
whatever the medium
it seems to be
quietly expressing
what is permanent..

and..
noticing our medium
yields eternal benefit:
experiencing ourselves
as peace and joy...

have you noticed
conversations are made of
percepts and concepts..
assumptions abound
that these 'cepts
define our lives and
the lives of others..

campfire tales
grammar school grammar
science's standard model
those wedding vows
all of these reinforce
said assumptions..
and most would say
of the above:
yes..so far so good..!

yet there is that
quiet one in the back
who has not spoken..
that one observes
the play of assumptions..
how the assumptions
cloud a hidden freedom
which is shared by all..
Are you that one...?

is marked for
independence
and identity
and birth..

1776 and counting..
an identity of separation
which has claimed our
treasure and allegiance..

prideful citizens
music and fireworks
have shaped romantic
imaginings of the
magical 4th..
a day which lingers
pleasantly in memories..

until sometimes
a quiet doubt
nudges and retreats..
and nudges...

All of our desires spring
From Happiness shaded by
Something seemingly separate..
Most of our lives are spent
Looking for..or losing
That something..
Until that moment when we
Recognize that Happiness
Is never lost but awaits our
Lifting the shade...

The vote is in

One side pointed to division

The other unity..

The expression of unity

Arrived this morning..

Jubilation in the streets

And residues of division

These are the poles

Of conventional life..

Awaiting the time

When all expressions

Are of One...

To change them
The old paradigms
Anachronisms..
To enter a gate to
All things new..
An inflexion point
And portal to a more
Welcoming World..
A point of Enough..
Is it coming..? Or are
We already There...?

Apparently
We all need to inquire
Today or tomorrow
Earlier is better some say
The question in question
Points to current beliefs
Of who we are or
Of the river or mountain
Or of traffic jams
Questions galore
But the one Answer
We must recognize
Lies hidden in each
Question...

it seems
a line to be crossed
a completion to be made
acknowledging truth..finally
of mind over matter
of our inborn projection..
it is a river to be crossed
a small boat through hazards..
hazards of insistence that
the material world speaks
for itself
evolving and sourcing
rising before our eyes
as we await a next move..
easily are we immersed
in lively appearance..
we occasionally back off
noticing our untruthful
immersion..but soon
clamor and curiosity
render our small boat
stalled on this side..favoring
a crossing delay...

First we identify thoughts
as thoughts..perceptions as
perceptions..
we observe these experiences
as though from a distance..noting
with interest and indifference
the temporary shaping of ourself
in which all experience arises..
Thereby..we recognize ourselves
as constant meditators
whether in quiet or turmoil..
Not what
we do this morning
again on the morrow..

A turning of the tables
In the temple
Brought a new understanding
Of the real Temple of the body
Which needs to rise and discover
Its true nature made of Grace..
This is the reversal which will
Bring Self recognition and
Accompanying peace to each of us
And to our world..
This Recognition is the real miracle  
Conveyed by the familiar story of
Water into wine...

is a recognition
awaiting each of us..
a recognition
of who we are..

we remember our teachers
on our left and our right
our journeys of searching
in past times..

searching the world for
peace past understanding
that only comes with recognition
of who we truly are..

arriving now.. directly..
effortlessly.. as that which
has always been there
embracing our journey...

it is called variously:
the fork in the road
a message from the universe
an intuition of new beginnings..
a couple meanings:
first..a longing to reach something new
something more fulfilling
than that which seems
as stale of late..this is a state
of searching..which we all know well..
as for  the other meaning..a discovery
that the fork or message or intuition..itself!
hides in its singularity that which we seek..
rendering our new choice as one of
expression!
of that pointed discovery..and a
new path is entered with joy...
