It’s a 1929 rewind
“Brother can you spare a dime?”
Once again
It’s depression time
And I’ma about to
Lose my mind
Cuz there’s no job
For me to find

So blame it on
The new disease
That’s  the reason
We’re on our knees
Begging for help
Somebody please!
Cuz all we want
Is a little ease

Is that too much
For us to ask?
Hope I’m not
Gong too fast
See there’s no *****
Inside my flask
And I’m **** tired
Of wearing this mask

Wish that it would
Go away,
Open up now!
We hear ‘em say
But will that take
Covid away?
Or guarantee
That it will stay?

People ask me what’s
On my mind?
The forgotten, left out
And the left behind
See some with sight
Might as well be blind
They’re deaf and dumb
And also unkind

People ask me what is
My pet peeve?
Lot’s of things
That you might not believe
Like the present pandemic
He couldn’t  conceive
From the intelligence
That he refused to read

Curious minds wanna know
How far the misery
Index will go?
And whether there’s room
For us to grow?
When the Coronavirus isn’t in tow
And the Stock Market
Is saying yo!

People ask me
What’s the deal?
With a President
Who can’t keep it real
And has no idea
What it is to feel
The pain that others
Readily reveal

He’s bombastic
When being sarcastic
And also he’s elastic
I wonder if he’s spastic
Although we know
Right from the get go
He says it isn’t so
As we watch his nose  grow

He’s bombastic
But thinks that he’s fantastic
Now that things are getting drastic
He comes off as plastic
So his lack of leadership
Shows on every TV clip
As he just lets it rip
While his ratings start to slip

He’s bombastic
And enthusiastic
When he should be monastic
He’s certainly not scholastic
Now he’s a circus clown
Who refuses to lay down
He thinks he wears a crown
Which only makes us frown

He’s bombastic
On the verge of being megaloblastic
He would like to be dynastic
Though maybe that’s too drastic
Cuz we can’t take much more
Of that you can be sure
He’s rotten to the core
And I’ve told you that before

Stronger tomorrow
Than we are today
We want an answer
So why don’t we pray?
Cuz there has to be
A much brighter day
And I do believe
That it’s on the way

Stronger tomorrow
When we persevere
We can get past
Whatever we fear
Though we can’t pretend
That it isn’t here
There’s a Higher Power
I know somewhere

Stronger tomorrow
Than we are today
Would if we could
Simply wish it away
Though it might be the price
That we have to pay
For our past transgressions
From yesterday

Stronger tomorrow

We want an answer
So why don’t we pray?
Cuz there has to be

I guess he’s just
King in name
Cuz he don’t wanna
Take no blame
So everything
Remains the same
As if this is
Some kind of game

He don’t really
Give a ****
That’s why we see him
Pass the buck
On those questions
He gets stuck
And when he wins
It’s just dumb luck

Have you noticed
His hair doo
That’s plastered down
With Krazy Glue
Say something
And he’ll sue
But I’m not telling you
Nothing new

He was warned
Way in advance
But where is his
Cyrus Vance
To inform him
So by chance
He wouldn’t just talk
But would do the dance

He comes on television
And continuously lies
The advice he gives us
Rarely is wise
And the press is there
For him to criticize
And he calls people names
No one denies

We sit and wonder
When will he rise?
To the occasion
And can only surmise
That the answer is rarely
Although he tries
On some occasions
When it applies

He constantly complains
About political hack
Many of which
He himself backs
He’s clearly an enemy
Of the browns and blacks
And a favorite of Fox News
Which no doubt he backs

He talks about making
America great
While he divides us
And promotes raw  hate
Since he’s been in office
He’s been second rate
And that estimation
Is beyond debate

Me asking why
You would choose
To take the risk
With a virus
As deadly as this

You got cabin fever
So you protest
Because you wanna
Socialize I guess
But that could lead
To one big mess
Causing your death
Nevertheless

It’s right there
Before your eyes
But still some
Wanna minimize
The actual risk
That they face
By taking chances
In any case

Sheltering in place
Ain’t no fun
But it’s preventive
And must be done
To keep the virus
On the run
Why play Russian Roulette
Without a gun?
