If I were the ocean, would you be my waves
We'd flow to the shore ever gracefully.
If I were a tree, my leaves you would be
Making me beautiful swaying so peacefully.

If I were a flower, you'd be my petals
The identity of all beauty upon me.
If I were a cloud, you'd be the sky
Holding me high for the wolrd to see.

If I were the heavens, you'd be my earth
We'd be above all known creatures that live,
If I were an Angel, you'd be my wings
Holding me strongly while guidance you'd give.

If I were your heart, would you be mine
Loving me endless and forever true?
If I were a voice, would you be the ears
Listening when I say, "I love you."

If I were weakness, would you be my strength
Turning me not away for what my heart knows,
If I were the body, would you be my soul
Giving me life, for the love my heart bestows?

"Excuse me young lady,"
I heard a voice say,
"Tell me what you see
When you look at me today?"

I said, "I see an old man,
Withered to the bone,
Walking down the street,
You seem so all alone.

A cane in your hand
Hearing aide in your ear,
Wrinkles upon your face,
Some whiskers to make a beard.

Your back is hunched over,
Your socks don't even match,
You had  a bottle filled with water
In which the lid you didn't latch.

Now, I'll mention the wet pants,
The huge glasses upon your face,
It seems to me as tho you can't see,
and why you move in a turtle like pace."

The old man looked very sad
At all the things that I had said,
At that very moment in time,
I knew my comments I would dread.

The old man turned to me,
And without a single thought,
The words he spoke I'll never forget,
"You see me for what I am not."

My old heart still beats strong,
My legs go where I chose to tread,
Tho my eyes are not as good as
The eyes that I once had

My ears may need a little help,
Tho I can hear what people say,
May you remember what you thought of me
When you ask someone, someday.

We all grow old, in time we do,
Yet somehow, we remain the same.
The person who lives inside this soul
Has never really changed.

Someday you may ask someone what they see,
"An old woman," is what they might say,
But in your heart that won't be true,
Then you'll turn the other way.

Tears will fall at your sadness,
For who you are, they cannot see,
You may be old and a little worn,
Or even lonely you may seem to be.

Your back may hunch way over,
Glasses could rest upon your face,
Which may even be the reason for
Your slow and creeping pace.

Now, look at me young lady
Tell me what you see in me today,
I turned while crying and said to him,
"I see what God has made."

With his head hanging low,
I could see the teardrops fall,
He said in a silent voice to me,
"Thank you for seeing it all."

Miss those arms around me

When you use to hold me tight,

Never doubting that you loved me

Every day and every night.

You had a way about you

That made me feel so safe,

Knowing nothing could hurt me

Neither night nor day.

When my heart was broken

You knew just what to say,

You would take away the heartache

If it took all night and day.

I remember our fun times together

Like we'd go fishing on the lake,

If ever a time you wouldn't let me go,

I'd cry all night and day.

For being with you, Daddy

Made a little girls dreams come true

There was nothing better in the world

Then spending night and day with you.

You always did amaze me

You were my hero, by the way,

You were the strongest man I ever knew

Your strength remained night and day.

Life was hard while growing up

You were my strength along the way,

No matter what this life may bring

I will forever love you, night and day.

Someone comes into your life,

Every once in a while,

Sometimes they bring laughter,

Others they bring a smile.

This has given me a new perspective,

On a lot, including myself,

Taking heartbreaks from the past,

Placing them upon a shelf.

Walking away, leaving them there,

Never looking back or thinking twice,

Only looking at what the future holds,

The things that make my life so nice.

No need to dwell on what we can't change,

Live for what is making us live,

The beauty of the world, the touch of his hands,

The most amazing, is the gift to give.

Let your heart reach out,

Show someone how to smile,

Never hesitate to take the time,

If only once in a while.

Someone once told me
Love is like a dream

Strewn rose petal pathways
And a delicate flowing stream.

Beautiful mountain tops
Covered with snow

Winds that whisper love
Everywhere you go.

Flowers in full bloom
Like a fairytale enchanted

A wishing well of colors
Where all wishes are granted.

A gazeebo twined with roses
Surrounded by light of fireflies

Clouds of cotton candy
That illuminate the skies.

As night begins to fall
The moon takes the sun away

Still as beautiful as ever
This dream will surely stay.

And soft as a breeze
My heart did flutter

For with every word he spoke
There not once was a stutter.

For I fell in a reverie
Full of pixies and such

When Love did talk to me
And whispered, I love you this much.

I love you like cherries
That burst in your mouth,

I love you like wisteria
That blossom down South,

I love you like dolphins
Love to jump free,

I love you like the ocean
Where waves crash gracefully.

I love you like a mountain
Loves to drink from the sky,

I love you as sweet gentle truth
That betrays the worst lie.

But as I crossed
The green hills so favored

It is that moment in choice
I will forever savor,

For as I awoke
In the morning divine

I saw all the beauties
In the bright sunshine

I awoke in love
And as I turned around

It was to see a smile
I have yet not found

For as love is as mystical
As mystical can be

It is my dream pleasant
That forever belongs to me.

It was a cold and dreary night, when I called you up to say,
"There's only just a few more miles, but I am on my way."
My radio was blaring, the windows were all rolled down,
Nothing's going to stop me now, for I am wedding bound.
Thinking of my bride, how beautiful she will be,
Speeding up to get there, for my love I longed to see.
The miles seemed to get longer, excitement building strong,
In an instant I close my eyes, not knowing what was wrong.
The next thing I remember, your face so lovely to see,
The beautiful lady who said yes, when asked to marry me.
There you were beside me, "What are you doing here?
Our wedding is about to start my love, I told you I was near."
You looked into my eyes, tears falling down your face,
All I could see surrounding us, was a beautiful dress of lace.
"Why are you crying all those tears, you shall marry me tonight,
Have you changed your mind already, or has your love lost it's sight?"
Reaching down, she kissed me, "I'll love you forever my dear,"
Then falling onto my chest, weeping is all I could hear.
That very moment and time, I knew my dreams were shattered,
For when I closed my eyes to imagine her, I lost everything that mattered.
As I lay here lifeless before you, you are full of hurt and pain,
In your eyes I see the sadness, for what will never be the same.
I want to hold you close to me, tell you everything's okay,
To comfort all your sadness, take all your pain away.
Somehow deep inside of me, I know you will get through,
I want to say, "I'm so sorry love, this isn't what I intended to do."
My dream was just to be there, watch you walking up the isle,
Glaring into each others eyes, sharing our love all the while.
Holding your hand in mine, speaking our vows and saying I do,
To be the man whom you'd always love, and for eternity I'd love you too.
We'd kiss and hold each other, walking hand in hand, away,
For this would be the beginning, of the life we'd share this day.
In my arms you'd dance, under the moonlit sky so bright,
Proud of holding you close my love, for you are the most beautiful sight.
Today is just the beginning, of the heartache you shall feel,
I'll be forever by your side, hoping that your heart will heal,
I'd beg for one more chance, in hopes to do it right,
If only just to see you smile, on our wedding night.

Breathing you in...
Inhaling every scent of you,
Drinking you completely..
For your sweetness is so true.
Touching your exterior..
The finest known to me,
Holding your heart..
Counting every single beat.
Kissing your lips..
The softness so define,
Cradling your body..
With these arms of mine.
Entrapping your soul..
Making you mine forever,
Loving you endlessly,
Praying we'll always be together.
